Not a single person was hiding this. Broncos fans have been trying to tell y'all for forever that our team is younger and has lots of potential, and that unproven doesn't mean bad. Yet all the rankings put us at the bottom, everyone kept slamming Payton for being "the most unlikeable HC in the league", Nix being a reach, saying we were going to be next year's #1 pick, saying we should've kept Russ, saying we were gonna be stuck in a rebuild for years, that we were a poverty franchise, and on and on and on. It's really one of those situations where if you were a Broncos fan that was paying attention to all the offseason moves, you could see Sean Payton's vision and that he was building HIS team to fit his offensive scheme (a luxury he didn't have last year), but most people weren't paying attention and didn't want to admit the Broncos might have an ounce of potential. You can tell when people don't really follow the Broncos. The defense, especially the D-line has been upgraded and will be an anchor for this team. The offense will develop over the course of the season, and Bo will keep growing and improving. This is going to be a scary team that is going to sneak up on people the first half of the season, but by the second half of the season, look for the Broncos to push for a playoff spot. I mean we did that last year with well below QB play, no running game, and a lack luster defense that was super up and down. A second year under Payton, a good draft, a QB that can actually run the offense the way Payton wants to run it, Vance with a better D-line and more aggressive scheme, and a young and hungry team with key free agent acquisitions.......it will be solid year for the Broncos.
What people have to understand about this league is there is a game ,within a game ,within a game. In every draft there are fools gold players to overshadow mainstay players (a diversion if you will) This franchise is the flagship team of this division so the NFL will make sure they do not fail. THIS game was one of those. Some other examples? Aaron Rodgers last playoff game, like 17-10 against the 49ers in Lambeau. Aaron Rodgers last ever game as a Packer, a "win and in" against the then not that great Lions. Last season when they got carved up the Giants 3rd string QB Danny Devito or whatever his name was. Last season again when they nearly lost to the pathetic Panthers, this was after Love's break out game too. And of course Baker Mayfields perfect game in Lambeau.
