I agree that the focus of curated games on Evercade is more desirable than having some sort of Mame Bartop with 10,000 games to scroll through. I already have an Evercade Alpha style DIY Bartop but this official release does look like a cool device. I may end up getting the standard Mega Man edition if I have a spare £199 nearer Christmas :-) Great video guys and you've got yourself a new subscriber. Keep up the awesome work!
I don't know how many times I've seen an Evercade cart video and thinking it was a preorder, to see that it's already a cart that I own. I have however done the opposite quite often, played it on evercade and then added it to my favorites on my Mame cabinet. I still have yet to preorder one, but it would be the Mega man one for sure. I bought the Street Fighter version. This caught my attention and now I’m diving headfirst into Evercade, buying a few of the arcade cartridges or console ones with shooter games to get ready. I’ve never owned an arcade cabinet, and I don’t have a ton of space, so this looks like a good option for me. I really like that you can swap cartridges, and that you can plug in controllers, although I’ll be playing single player most of the time. I think my kids will get some fun out of this too though, so I can take the hit and plug in a 6-button Genesis controller to play with them. I was also considering getting a Super Pocket awhile ago, so this helped me pull the trigger on that too. Hopefully I enjoy it and that Evercade keeps putting out good games!
I feel like you are the perfect customer for it. New to evercade and don't have the other ways to play. I personally love arcade games, so the arcade carts are mostly solid to me, followed by the pico, jaleco, and technos carts would probably all play pretty well on there. They did say expect more arcade carts this year too. I have a feeling those will be the November carts. I do have the full collection, not too bad buying 2 carts every 3 months.
@@UnpackReboot hey thanks! Yeah I’m pretty excited! I’ve ordered the IREM, Technos, Data East and Jaleco arcade cartridges, and the Renovation console one so far. But I have a list of about 15 more that I’m interested in, haha. If they ever add paddle controller support, then I’d consider the Atari arcade cart as well, but for now I can play those games on Atari 50 instead. But between the 6 Street Fighter games and the 5 cartridges, I’ve got 50 games to play already on the Alpha. Not too shabby!
Great job guys! Personally, if I had the perfect spot in my house for one of these machines I'd consider it but no such luck. I like the look of the Alphas and really like the 2 cartridge slots but playing 2 players on an 8 inch screen isn't exactly ideal. I bought an arcade stick for my VS about 12 months ago and it's great to have but it has 11 months of dust accumulated on it. Alpha isn't for me.
It feels like it scratches a specific itch. I (Michael) personally have 3 arcade1ups (2 are linked fast and furious) and then my custom 4 player arcade. I love arcades, but this form factor puts it in a difficult spot and it's too expensive to be a cool piece to just have out. I still go back and forth, adding and removing it from my shopping cart 🤣
How do these Home arcade UA-camrs keep forgetting that the Arcade1up countercades retail new for $229? The same price as this! Obviously that is how Blaze came up with the pricing for Evercade Alpha. It's true that the 1ups go on sale a lot, but they are also present in a lot more retailers than Evercade products. The reality is that this is technically a better value than Arcade1up countercades at this price point by virtue of the fact that you can play the cartridges. I'm definitely getting the Street Fighter arcade. 💥💥👊💥💥
I agree, I think the problem a lot of times is that they flooded the market you could randomly find them for $100 (what the youtubers probably are thinking). That was rare though and definitely not quality controls like these are supposed to have along with adding the cartridges. 💥

Not a bad way to go, I've just had amazon miss 3 or 4 cartridge preorders for evercade with me. Still had the Megaman on in my cart this last week 🤣
