You guys need to do something more for these guys out there in that rain. I don't care if the red light is supposed to be blinking bright enough. Clearly if they are rear ending each other that quickly, it's not. Put some real wipers on that windshield and give us some mud flaps on the back to keep some of the back spray and "rooster tail" at a minimum
I like how the highlights don't show how bad it was raining when they threw the caution flag at the very end to stop for the weather. They just hide that altogether lol.

I believe, if you do the research, as I have, that NASCAR didn't have Air Titans at the track because it was a 1 race lease with an option to renew next season. Oh and I have inside sources as I write for several Jayski published websites on "Article Links."
Rain Racing = Good NASCAR rain racing = needs some work I think with some fixes in places (I.e. a brighter rain light(s?) moved to the exterior of the car somewhere, F1 style caution light panels, extreme wet tyres and a mud flap like thing (idk lol) and others) NASCAR could have hit the jackpot with this 😁
Or just watch v8 supercars. Nascar could learn a lot from them if this is the direction they want to go. I love nascar but supercars are proper road racing in high horse power rwd cars with no assists.
Also slightly different rules should apply for road races. Like speeding should be 5 place not all the way to the end. That's too harsh. It was more of an issue during the xfinity race though.
to be fair, it had been raining roughly the same amount throughout the entire race, and there was no more reasons to throw it under Chase’s lead than anyone else’s. IMO after the caution they should’ve ran a few laps and had a restart with 5ish to go
That’s Austin for you rains at the most inconvenient times. Saw the usgp in 2015 and it rained all day the day before and most of the morning, so they ran the wets and intermediate tyres until late race where most took soft or medium compound tyres.

Fun seeing NASCAR actually have to race a top level course and in inclement weather. Really showed who put in the sim work when the rooster tails got big. I kno Kevin Harvick didn't, braking 300M early and becoming a sea mine on the track.
This race was very interesting because of the rain. It was pretty cool. NASCAR should do this on the oval tracks too can continue racing in the rain. All they have to do is switch tires and keep on racing instead of red flagging/postponing the race because of rain.
Does anyone know how long the race lasted? The cars aren't nimble enough around this track, plus the rain. I would imagine it would have taken hours...

whats the point of racing in the rain if raining floods the track and the race can be stopped anyway. you cant tell me no one knew that if it rained for more than a few hours or hard enough it would flood the track beyond use.
That’s unfortunate for the guys who wrecked due to bad visibility, sucks for them.Seems like the “rain tire” should be used only so they don’t have to get the air Titans out & have 2 hrs after a light drizzle. Racing in the rain seems like a stupid idea.
Man I miss the days when the crew chief and the driver had to wrangling in those wild stallions. These new cars are boring. No strategies needed, it's just follow the leader.
I’ll leave my comments until I see them race at this track again. But either the track sucks for stock cars which could be the case with a lot of these turns or the weather ruined it. It was mildly entertaining to start, but the longer the race went on it was just not a good situation for the drivers.

Love that they’re racing at COTA, but their rain racing protocols need a LOT of work.
NASCAR should keep COTA in their calendar next year. I can see this track beeing compatible to next gens
