I like their unique interpretation of track limits lol
I was thinking the same thing. It's cool seeing them extract the absolute max from the track
@@Jumpboy5100 I hate it. The white line is the limit of the track, keep within it for gods sake! Looks like a online loopy and not professional.
@Above Average Ford Fiesta for most car racing I'd agree with the above but yeah for V8 Supercars, Trans am and NASCAR, nah let them use the whole track
😂😂😂
It's a safety issue too cuz cars come back onto the racing line and can come into contact with other cars. I'm sure I saw one such crash in this race. Almost like merging traffic off the motorway.
Stoked to see Kimi and Jenson back at COTA 🤟🏿🤟🏿
Pithy
And the fact that Jenson had the best finish of all of them (18th).
Can I get a ..."bwoah!!"

Listening to Kurt getting emotional should earn him some stake in that company. That team was lights out today.
Hamlin said Kurt is a 23xl driver and member for life
No stage breaks meant the strategy has to be the big focus today and it was great. Jesus Reddick and that car were just top of their game today.
100%. It brings back actual strategy to NASCAR, I'm glad they went this route with the new stage system. No more "Send it until the end of the stage, then pit for tires with the rest of the pack". Now it's back to actual teamwork and planning and I'm all for it.
Lies again? Drive Jeep Changi Airport
I’m impressed with Kurt Busch today great job on the booth

For sure. And his emotion at the finish.
It's so nice seeing Kimi back in NASCAR.
Why? What did he do? Why is he special? Don't get it.

Love the emotion Kurt gave us! He really wants to be back in that car and how much racing means to him! HELLYEAH 🤘🏻
I feel like he announced retirement a little early.. he could have just waited longer till he was better
@@BSUxFAN29I don’t think he’s better yet dawg

2 things that would make me watch more NASCAR races: More road course races and standing starts on said courses
Big ditto
This is how stage racing should be! not sure if this is the first time doing it this way but it felt like the old days

Nice to see Jenson and Kimi back racing each other. Felt like a kid again watching them.
Gosh I love this track!! Pleeeease keep these road courses NASCAR!!
Maybe change that first turn a little for NASCAR. The turn is fine for sportscars, but 5 wide there is a little crazy.
@@22sojourner For road course racing, not oval racing. NASCAR is historically an oval league.
@@xtlm and there are more than plenty of them during the season so these races are where you really see the real actual drivers shine!
disagree completely. less road courses, more short tracks.
Ah! I was looking for a post like this and the subsequent replies to understand what was going on here. So this is indeed the same championship as the oval track races? You know, I'm from Spain and I know very little about this series so I was really surprised to see NASCAR cars racing on a regular track instead of the iconic ovals. Have there always been 'regular' track races in the championship or is it a relatively recent addition?
The fact that the highest place f1 world champion finished 18th shows how difficult Nascar road course races really is
I mean they are old and really not use to full time racing anymore + equipment difference but yeah even for a f1 champion, nascar is hard
Kimi and Jenson are 40+ years old, they are doing this for fun and experience mate
I've been out of the nascar scene for several years (just now becoming familiar with all the current names) but fox or nascar or whoever calls the shots on filming is doing a great job. Love the drone footage while cars are on track and the up close and personal footage inside and out of the cars, when doing burnouts and stuff like that. For many years their filming was super stale but they've put some spice back in it.
Chastain battles back to 4th after that spin. Good job wallrider.
Dude is a proper machine behind the wheel
Busch and Chastain got good finishes despite facing the wrong direction at a certain point
Bell was spun twice and made it into the top ten until he was spun again and then crashed
It was an excellent race, Reddick showed that he had eggs and maintain the position despite all the chaos generated in the last laps, and good for Kyle who finished 2nd. @@JoeTheGeneric oh yeah. Forgot about that.
The first turn is more chaotic than the first turn and the grand hotel hairpin in Monaco in F1 combined lmao
My favorite part is the F1 Netflix fanatics talking about the track limits 💀
Personally my favorite part is not having cautions at the end of the stages
Single file rolling restarts would have saved a lot of time.
Also I'd like to see track limits be enforced.
with cars like this that would be super difficult, they weigh about double the weight of the cars the track was designed for and there are a lot of car on the track. It would be difficult for the cars to keep speed through a turn, which there are like 20 of, and stay on the track. It would be a lot less fun to watch if the track limits were strictly enforced
just as you think the race is gonna be a classic road course fuel mileage race…
…true society happens…
Seeing Kimi race at the track where he won in a F1 car in 2018 for Ferrari and it is nice to race in a different car here
Kyle pit strategy and blocking his way to 2nd place was beautiful
Please keep stages exactly like this. No restarts just for the sake of having restarts. It is better in literally every way.
NASCAR needs to be more stringent in applying track limits on various drivers.
Thank You for this video.
9:48 The pain of wanting to race again in his voice 💔
If that race was on iRacing they would all be disqualified after 20 turns to not observing track limits xD
Such a cool track to see then racing on. Love seeing it on the F1 calendar, watching it with NASCAR makes the track that much more special
First Nascar race I've watched in a long time, once I heard no stages racing straight through.. I thought ya ill tune in for that
I actually shut of the tv after the 2nd overtime restart...there's no correlation between the first couple hundred miles and the last 4 miles...glad the fastest guy won and not the schlub that takes him out...
It is a long race, why go all in on the first lap?
Good to hear from Kurt he's one of my favorite drivers
The newly updated suspension did wonders for NASCAR
“No Guarantee about overtime today”
That Aged Well lol
That was a great race. I’m glad I was there!
Good race by Redick today! I was happy by a second place finish by Busch aswell
Great race.. nascar is putting on a show this year 👍
I couldn't be any happier for Tyler Reddick He definitely deserves this win
Plus this race is legit proof that 1 Attempt at OT is Good enough as well as having OT out of the question with 5 to go on Road Courses and Superspeedways
Track limits anyone? 😂 I hope to see these in person one day, maybe at the Daytona 500 next year?
Kurt getting choked up on the last lap it’s tearful to see. I didn’t like the Busch bros I was an Earnhardt/ Hendricks fan but man Kurt was a cool dude
That was a good race!…road courses are my favorite!
This is one of my favorite race tracks in the NASCAR series. And it’s just like how the commercial described every turn a monster, every lap a beast.
Excellent race , so much better without stopping at the end of the stage . Wallace meltdown was hilarious as well . Then his teammate wins lmao he probably was crying
Wallace did himself dirty LOL
So you're saying you enjoy it when others are going through rough patches??
I'm guessing this is something more than just schadenfreude...

Just drove this today and they had a 120mph speed limit🤨. Still fun but underwhelming
120mph is more suited for dirt road rallying lol
Love how track limits just don't exist and everybody just gets their elbows out!
yeah, kind of happens when your entire driver pool doesnt know how to use brakes lol
Track limits are different for cars like NASCAR, Transam, GT, etc. Not everything is about open wheel racing 🙄
Reddick is a star.
We were in turn 1. This was our 3rd year at this race. We have been going since it started, and this year did not disappoint. Extremely entertaining and competitive racing. Love this track!
Good pipes on the grand Marshall, would of liked to see a more tighter finish against Reddick , but every driver that had a chance to to pass that 45 was entertaining, I'm glad #8 rcr bush was able to get close , #24 was so so close , and were did Bowman come from ,good job .

What are those curbs for? Just interpretation and a beautiful ornament to bring in some color.
I had the chance to see two races in Chicago and it was just spectacular! I still get the chills thinking about that awesome noise and feeling I got.
Is this the same track the MotoGP will use the upcoming week?
Why isn’t Bubba destroying Larson on here? That was a huge moment in this race
Track limits for FIA Grade 1 circuits are ridiculous but track limits in US car championships much more.
My favorite part was Suarez door slamming someone before lap 3 and then getting mad at how pthers raced him the rest of the day. 😊

I feel like Tyler Reddick is becoming the new Chase Elliott. Would love to see him win a championship next year
🎶"putting out the caution" 🎶
Serious question. Watching for the first time. are there no tracklimits here?
guys i love regular NASCAR but am i the only one who never gets bored during road courses
NASCAR, you need to do somthing about these track limits, this is absolutely ridiculous!
average f1 fan
Explain to me why not policing track limits hurts the racing. They were serious about shortcuts in Turns 3-6, but other than that, let ‘em run!
As long as the rules are clear and consistent I have no problem with it. It allows for better racing because the drivers can take different lines
As long as they don’t take shortcuts, you really need those safety zones in course like COTA, otherwise it will become demolition derby.

That monster Toyota sounds so efficient
I guess track limits are kinda a suggestion for NASCAR. Cut every apex, run wide out of every corner. Might as well just go straight through the esses rather than try and make them.
The narrators were funny this race 😂
Hey, that's Coach Beard!
I see the track limits are just suggestions in this racing series.
6:37 when you’re punished for taking the typical racing line Lmao
As a tyler fan it A W FOR ME
Tracklimits be like: "Hello? Am I a joke to you?"
Please introduce local yellows on road courses. The amount of debris cautions is ridiculous
Could you swap out the NASCAR style steering wheel for something more GT style on road circuits? Or is it a spec part? Seems like a hinderance on these sorts of tracks.
Its a spec part
NASCAR is so cute
Lol kimi like”wtf are these track limits!”
Glad Fred Durst is getting work between making albums.
love the nascar road courses. Wish there was slightly more oversteer - seems like they have traction control?
