I moved to Sparks from Vegas 3 years ago and LOVE it. I just wish I moved here 10 years ago when homes in Washoe valley were only $300k lol. Now they are all $1 million dollars for an acre.
Isn't that the truth!!!
Go back to Vegas
Yeah, the property prices and rent costs have gone astronomically up.....:(
I've lived in Reno since 2005.....
@@hag12100 all thanks to the people who left California 😉
Apple is here indeed: 1 retail store in South Reno and a server farm in the desert.
Talk about false advertisement. This is filmed outside of Reno, The trees and the water... Not Reno. West and south of reno you find green and water. But Reno itself is a kitty litter box. Otherwise I'd agree with some of this.
One more thing, the continuous selling of Lake Tahoe. 99 % of the land around it is owned. If you aren't a millionaire, plan on visiting a couple of massively packed beaches in the summer. Otherwise the 99% have walled off access to the lake.
And more. There is a serious shortage of housing. Talking about the homes being built in the south Reno area, they're all pretty well sold. And most of that was 500k plus. The only way that is "affordable" is if:
* you earn 6 plus figures annually. And most of the advertised Tesla employees and other blue collar workers dont earn that.
* you and your spouse earn 6 figures plus annually.
*you come from money.
Agreed. New construction is happening toward areas with little to no trees. This equals strong winds moving dust across land. Welcome!
😂🤣🤣
bruh theres something called moutians and bro i was born and raised here and ialso still live here thats not true they could be in tahoe in a park close to moutians witch i would know
roll there is only one good thing about Reno. That is location. Access to some of the planets true beauty within a few hours in multiple directions. Reno itself is as mentioned before... a kitty litter box.
@@rickroll9694 Bruh bro I didnt know witches lived in Reno
The time to move was before 2018. And main factor was how affordable it was. Now expect to pay over half a million for a regular budget built house in a dust bowl area. And wages have not gone up as quick as cost of living. Traffic to get to the beaches in Tahoe in the summer will make you not want to go. I would think long and hard before choosing this place to spend even near term here.
Shout out the Democrats
If you enjoy sharing the road with bad drivers, you'll love living in Northern Nevada. I've lived in this area for several years now and don't recommend it unless you have a specific purpose for moving here. There are no shortage of jobs, but finding a rental can be tough when you first move to the area. One thing to note about the jobs, a lot of them are not accessible by public transportation. I do not recommend moving here if you are without a car. If you don't like the snow, the Fernley and Fallon areas offer you a bit of a reprieve. Get one hour east of Reno and your annual snowfall total is reduced by more than 50%. I know first hand because that is where I currently live.
What city?
H e h yep;-; road rage all the time
Details like the lack of trees and how often exactly the snow sticks around. This video is what’s up. 100%.
Much appreciated!!!
Great video, thanks for the info
It’s kinda deceitful when you talk about great places in Reno, but show Lake Tahoe...misleading for people who know no different.
Enlighten me, why are they deceitful? ( I'm thinking of going so lmk)

Quite a few options out there, but a lot will be determined by price point, furry friends and overall lifestyle. Shoot us an email and we can help.
Guys, there is nothing "affordable" about a $300,000 house. That's expensive. That's not a starter home.
I agree with you!
In this area there is nothing that low.
@@karenbaily Precisely my point. The American standard of living is collapsing.
Another industry that employs a lot of people in the Reno area is warehousing and logistics - pick & pack, truck driving, and the like - not just casino jobs - which has actually not seen much growth in a number of years here in Northern Nevada. Reno is centrally located for many major western USA distribution destinations - not to mention Nevada's tax advantages.
💯 I’ve at several of em.
thanks dude , was interesting to hear
Been here since 05. I thought it was better when I moved here. Seems all the trash from the Bay and Sacramento are here now. Losing the
sense of community.
They call it "California cancer" for a reason......they ruined it
I am not hating on you whatsoever by any means but “losing the sense of community” I’ve lived in Reno for nearly four years and it’s everybody for themselves. The idea that there is even an iota of community at all is laughable. There is a complete lack of cohesion.
@@drewbladen1668 that’s exactly what I’m talking about.
Oh it's not just transplants coming from CA, they're coming from other expensive blue states as well.
Funny you mention this I graduated in 05 and left for the Military that same year. I recently moved back and had to move to Fallon because it just wasn’t what I left and I didn’t like it anymore. Way more people then when I left and like you said what community. I miss the way it was when I grew up in Reno.
Great information. Thanks for putting this video together.
Thank you Ryan!
A vid about Reno with 90% of the vid and pix in Tahoe. And no mention of wind that blows 9 months a year.
Is it better to stay in town or outside when you come to check stuff out ?
I would say both for sure. We have some great restaurants/breweries but the outdoor lifestyle is allover and one of the main reason so many people are moving here.
Coming from Spokane and considering Reno due to sun and 4 seasons of sports can you address the 55+ communities and the water supply? Concerns for Vegas is future lack of water .
Hey Brenda, I am from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho so I can relate to your weather like the back of my hand. I'd love to jump on a zoom call to discuss details but we have some great 55+ all inclusive communities. Weather wise, we have SUN!!!!! We still have all 4 seasons but the winter is mild and we get 300+ days of sun. Please send me an email: reno@realagentnow.com
The housing prices are RIDICULOUS, for no apparent reason.
I lived there for around 20 years and just do not think the town
warrants such high housing costs, albeit I think Reno is a decent
little town, but Reno needs to be CLEANED UP.
Californians jacked the prices up, to them paying 500k to live in Fernley is a good deal 😂.
That goes for rent as well. Used to be able to rent a 2b/2b with washer/dryer in the unit, in a decent neighborhood, for $900 - $1200. Now you're lucky if you can find exactly that for less then $1,800!!!

These two are clueless, the casinos are not the driving force of jobs here in Reno. They mention all the big names that are coming here. Those jobs are literally 10 year jobs maximum before they leave. No higher pay than a dealer at a casino

That should be Wolf Run
Reno is 4500, it[s being Overrun by Californians and turned into California East. Most of the pics here are of 30 minutes away in Tahoe; Traffic is atrocious ,Vito has never known how to make roads. THe homeless are allowed to take over the parks for months on end. But ,lots of good places to eat, drink, and you’re close to Tahoe, Mountains, Pyramid Lake for fishing. All the “High Tech “ jobs,, Tesla ,Apple etc are 30 minutes out of town and the traffic chokes down to hours to get there during the Rush hours.
If you learn the roads, you can avoid a lot of the gridlock.

Heavenly is one of the best, scenic resorts in the world. You also have Palisades / Alpine Meadows. The top 3 would be Heavenly, Palisades (Squaw Valley), and Northstar at Tahoe.

Reno used be super cool. But what made it cool was how cheap it was. Now it is as bad or worse than many areas in CA. Now the roads are overwhelmed, people are buying 150k homes for 500k. Lake Tahoe South Shore is too congested no place to park!
Why would you even want to go to SLT? Incline area is so much nicer!!
High crime, meth, homelessness, prostitutes, traffic, a lot of road construction, and crowded. Lived there for 10 years and left in 95 and they always tell you about the no state tax, but it did not make up for the low wages.
I went to a bar in midtown and a guy approached me in the parking lot saying "clear! clear!". I'd only heard this at small airports before where pilots shout "clear" before starting a propeller. I asked the guy what he meant and he explained that he was trying to buy meth, for which "clear" is slang apparently. Obviously I could not help him. Reno is pretty depressing.
