Mozart's Symphony No. 40 - performed live by the London Mozart Players (whole piece)

- The London Mozart Players perform Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K550 at St John’s Smith Square, London, on 14th June 2018.
As many commentators have noted, this work is without peer in its clarity and balance. It is emotionally charged but never stormy. The relentless rhythm propels, but does not force, the flow. Daring harmonies make an appearance, but, within its classical framework, Mozart gently leads the way to the overt musical emotional expressions to come in the next century.

The London Mozart Players are an orchestra at the heart of London’s classical music scene, and the UK’s oldest chamber orchestra!

Hi, thanks I am 81 yrs old and have always enjoyed mozarts who for me is the greatest composer ever and always brings a lump in my throat with his music. Fred h.
You're a probably lovable person with a very good taste
A wonderful performance of my favourite Mozart symphony. The 2nd movement made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!Look forward to hearing more from this amazing group of musicians.
Many thanks!
Mozart is surely the greatest classical composer of all time. Although he had a short life of only 35 years, he produced over 800 works of music, he was a complete genius, and his legacy will live on forever.
Sshhhh. You'll upset the Bach and Beethoven fans!
@@LondonMozartPlayers Bach composed math, Beethoven composed ambience, but Mozart composed music (in my book)
Fantastic orchestra! Highly recommended listening
Thanks Joanna!

Glad you enjoyed!
Beautiful
K 550 & 551 ( Jupiter ) should be listened more frequently in these troubled times. Specifically western leaders take notice!
how great!👍
Thanks! 😃
Outstanding performance. Even my least favouirte movement (2nd) sounded vibrant and engaging. Loved it front to back.
Impressive
Mozart is my God. I love him so much, he brings joy into my life. Thank you so much for sharing this gem. Wonderful musicians!

Ya
The orchestra made me feel like I was doing something challenging
😅😅😅
nice
I can feel the aesthetics of Mozart with their breathtaking performance
Brilliant! joy in sorrow. It is morning that my soul is perfectly cleansed by this.
550 ….. Nice fast tempo …from Classical period to enlighten my brain cells!
Where are you Wolfgang, wo sind Sie Wolfgang? Humanity needs you in person!
For an interesting aside, the Dutch band The Gathering recorded a tribute song tomMozart called Travel. It too is very emotional. This piece is highlighted in the lyric, :Leaning over your fortieth masterpiece, you must have ;loved the colour of the violins...You fit of insanity makes me sad...I wish you knew your music would stay forever..." Their song can be called Symphonic Metal. But The Gathering were unique in their own right. And their vocalist, Anneke van Giersbergen, is amazing. The best live version is their 2007 live concert. Give it a listen.

I feel like im the youngest in the comment section rn... also great music ❤
the less i know the better -tame impala
The camera must have a microphone because when I see oboes I hear oboes and when I see flutes I hear flutes Ok same with the violas I’m starting to think editing had something to with this...now I think it is my brain isolating the track due to optical input
The film crew look at the music beforehand - so they know when they should focus on what instruments.
@@LondonMozartPlayers Thank you! This music moves me to tears of joy. It’s almost like flying without a plane.
I bet Mozart could hear the whole symphony and all instruments in his head at once; it was just a mundane business of writing down the score, so we could hear it as well.
Some people prefer Mozart.. Some others prefer Beethoven.
С рекламой надоели!
НЕ даёте слушать!
Yeah yeah well I don’t think you have a lot to say about that but it would probably just kidding
who interrupts Mozart with a stupid commercial...ridiculous
We allow UA-cam to put adverts on our videos so we can pay our players and keep posting performances for free! We're trying to make sure they don't disrupt your viewing experience too much, but it's a work in progress. Sorry for the interruption, but we hope you enjoyed the rest of it!
Ths is not a pop song, if you must put adverts in at least hzve the grace to place them between movements. I certainly will not subscribe or by any products from advertisers.
Very true, not a pop song! The advertising helps to fund the Orchestra and means we can keep doing things like this (and we're working on getting them to appear at more suitable points as well).
Очень плохо 2 часть-6/8. 3 часть-это не Вальс на раз.Мало вибрато😢
Little known is the fact that Mozart actually stole the melody from a Bollywood song called ‘Itna na mujhse tu pyar badha’

LMAO !
Quality Mozart, no doubt abt it but they have to invent better and more serious clothing. Rag-tag orchestra.
Too much bass. Can't enjoy the high note enough do get some sweet level of dopamine. Sorry ^^
You must really dislike Boroque Era music then. 😂 that basso continuo my irritate you.
