    I don't think even Mozart wrote anything better than the first movement allegro of the 'Prague' symphony. It is a truly astonishing compositional achievement.

      sì, si crede che solo la n.40 sia preromantica, ma qui c'è un'assoluta classicità che paradossalmente dà un 'romanticismo' diverso

    Not only is the Frankfurt Radio Symphony one of the most technically brilliant out of so many ensembles, but the sound engineering team produces top-notch recordings that are hard to beat. Each section is given a clear voice.

    I was tempted to buy a sweet pastry today in the food store. I resisted the urge, but I could not resist this!
    All the little details beautifully carved, even in piano. Balance like a ballerina on stage. Very crisp recording.
    Solche wundershöne Delicatessen. So vollstendig zusammen. Die Bläser haben schon auf historische Instrumenten gespielt. Lecker und wirklich delikat!

      For me it's similar.
      I discovered the "kleine Nachtmusik" on a record of my parents (the only record with classical music they had), and I thougt: Wow! That is music!
      A few months later my older brother bought a record with the g-minor symphony (K550) and my mind was blown away!
      Since then I heard Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Bach and most other great composers, but I always return to mozart.
      A day without music of mozart is a lost day!

    This surely one on the best ensembles and orchestras in the world. All the great conductors, soloists and the backbone of everything the players.
    Woodwind, brass, strings; it compares with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and I Solisti Veneti for such a cohesive sound. The world is spoilt with all this talent.

      A great compliment to both orchestra and conductor mr. Philippe Herreweghe . How he directs with small hand

    Oh how good to see the wonderful musicians of Frankfurt again! Wow, and in such top class form!! I am getting to know the faces of the orchestra now, and they are becoming like friends I recognize.
    What an utterly superb interpretation of this symphony by the conductor, and the playing of the orchestra just seems to go from strength to strength. Thank you so much, everyone, with special thanks to the audio engineers who are outstanding.

    Ich war angenehm überrascht als ich bemerkte, dass der Paukenspieler und die Blechbläser auf historischen Instrumenten spielen. Es war ein Riesengenuss für mich Euch zuzuhören, und Grossmeister Herreweghe beim Zaubern zuzusehen.

    • @amuller3101
      @amuller3101 Рік тому

      Ich war auch sehr positiv überrascht. Ich liebe den "brastigen" Klang von Naturtrompeten und -hörnern.
      Aber woran erkennt/hört man, dass die Pauke historisch ist? Eine Pauke hat schließlich immer nur eine Tonhöhe.

    • @lovelettertothewest
      @lovelettertothewest Рік тому

      @@amuller3101 Optisch erkennt man eine historische Pauke daran, dass der Kessel spitzer nach unten verläuft, und kein Pedal für eine spontane Umstimmung vorhanden ist. Klanglich wohl daran, dass sie weniger laut und ihr Grundton weniger Obertöne beinhaltet (also dumpfer klingt). Soweit meine klanglichen Spekulationen.

    Eine außergewöhnlich packende Darstellung!! Glückwunsch an dieses wunderbare Orchester (für mich das beste ARD-Orchester), das in der Lage ist, mit einem Spezialisten für historische Aufführungspraxis wie Herreweghe genauso kompetent zu spielen wie mit seinem Chef die "Vier letzten Lieder" von Richard Strauß: es bewältigt eine riesige stilistische Bandbreite auf allerhöchstem Niveau, weil es - unabhängig von der Epoche - in der Lage ist, jeweils als intelligentes Team zu agieren! Das ist heute die Aufgabe für ein "modernes" Sinfonieorchester: es muss wandelbar sein je nach Epoche oder Dirigent! Schließlich ist das auch für die Musiker lebendiger als immer nur die "Tradition" abzurufen!

    This exemplary orchestra in ensemble, and its individual dazzling players, and its several conductors (especially those titanically gifted women) are quite brilliant.
    I love this orchestra with all my womanly, crazy, music-adoring heart! What sane woman or indeed man would not?
    Moreover, there is a most inspiring democratic ethos of excellence available to every ear, and the spirit of universal enlightenment (found also in for instance d'Alembert, Kant, Voltaire, Heinrich Heine, Diderot, Goethe, Émilie du Châtelet and Thomas Mann) within a radio orchestra playing regularly to radio and online audiences around the planet of hundreds of thousands, or even millions ..... inshallah!
    Please come in person to London more often!
    As some caustic Irish wit once said, we English may not really understand music, but we do like the sound it makes. Hence there are at least five full-size orchestras, all assaying the complete repertoire and modern commissions, and each of unquestioned front-rank renown - the LSO, LPO, Philharmonia, RPO and BBC SO; and that is without naming the hundreds of other ensembles and ad hoc bands! Actually I will name two; the Academy of St Martins in the Fields, and of course the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.
    What a miraculous citadel of aural feasts and ecstasies is found in our wicked Londinium on the Mighty Thames.
    Love, andrea

    Les "baroqueux" ou le refus systématique de s'appesantir ne serait-ce qu'une seconde supplémentaire sur les passages les plus lyriques d'une musique divine... La castration du beau, l'amoindrissement des sentiments, l'appauvrissement à tout prix, l'accélération forcenée, l'aigrissement des sons. Le génie mozartien revu et corrigé par les beaux penseurs des XXe et XXIe siècles qui affirment des âneries, émettent des thèses définitives comme jouer Bach comme si l'on travaillait une pâte mollassonne, Mozart comme un hystérique et Beethoven avec des instruments en bois d'allumettes... Tout faire pour saccager et parvenir coûte que coûte à ce qu'on puisse mettre en parallèle la musique d'avant, quitte à la piétiner, à celle, calamiteuse, des crétins d'aujourd'hui... Le Communisme dément et ravageur se nichant jusque dans les moindres recoins de nos patrimoines, afin qu'au bout du compte, nous finissions par délaisser nos géniaux ancêtres au profit de la bouillie actuelle. Plus de lustre, plus de gloire, plus de panache... Merci à Messieurs Herreweghe, Harnoncourt, Koopman et consort pour leurs contributions d'un demi-siècle à cette grande entreprise de démolition puante...

    I play the bass, mainly electric, but upright also occasionally. I really like to listen to the bass in Mozart, in all sorts of pieces. And to watch, but, as usual, in the video the bassists are sidelined. You have to strain to catch a glimpse. Every time the first flautist has a solo passage she gets zoomed in on in the edit. You can check out her earrings. When the basses have a great bit, do the players get shown close up? No, of course not. And there are many wonderful passages in the bass of this symphony. 'Why?' I am asking myself.

      Efectivamente, pocos directores he visto dirigir más inexpresivo que este, aunque se aprecia muy bien que es una orquesta de primera categoría y suple con creces los defectos de la batuta.

      Es gibt die Erzählung, dass Mrawinski eine Probe der Leningrader Philharmoniker (mit Gastdirigent) besuchte. Als er in den Saal kam und das Orchester bemerkte dass er da war, veränderte sich sofort der Klang und die Qualität. Er war einfach nur da ... Dirigieren hat nicht nur etwas mit Show zu tun.
