Bella Rasmussen, an 18-year-old running back on the Laguna Beach (California) High School varsity football team, has become the first girl to score two touchdowns in a game. Rasmussen completed the feat in the Laguna Beach Breaker's 48-0 win over Santa Ana Godinez on Oct. 14. To Rasmussen, however, it's no big deal.
"I had no idea that was such a big deal,” the 18-year-old senior said during an interview with NBC's TODAY show on Thursday. "I felt that I had just played a great game with some of my favorite people."
Rasmussen scored on a one-yard run in the second quarter of the Breaker' dominant win and capped off the first half with a four-yard touchdown run. Rasmussen is just the eighth girl in state history to score a touchdown on the varsity team, according to CalHiSports.com. “I was like, just in case you didn’t get to (see it) the first time, I’m going to do it again," she told the TODAY show.

I played against a girl quarterback in middle school and the biggest dude on our team broke her collarbone when he sacked her and he then screamed HOW YOU LIKE THE WAY EQUALITY FEELS.

That’s how SOME high school football teams are weak some are strong in tackling. Maybe that #17 was his first time playing football in a team who doesn’t now how to tackle. I experienced similar like that 17 weak tackles not even trying to nock you down like wtf

That was me back in 1983. I loved football. I played all the time but the school said no. I was good at it. Better than most boys. The board had a fit because i wanted in"Punt Pass & Kick" but my mama got me in. Now they can play and thats great. Live dreams through others.

there has never been an argument about playing at a higher level. the issue comes when you want to play at the lower level so that you can dominate.

She averages like 2.7 yards a carry, she's not playing anywhere close to the guys on her team. You can have all the knowledge in the world doesn't mean you can execute. She can work out all she wants won't be as strong as the guys, just biology. Easy 2-3 yard run for a TD with no real adversity, lack of resistance powering through a actual tackle. Practically walk in touchdowns. She hasn't done anything impressive people are just happy to see a girl on the field with guys. A field where she has a increased chance of being in the hospital in a already highly dangerous sport. But she's pushed boundaries right? We have those boundaries for a reason.
True enough. Sometimes you see a running play, even in the NFL, where after the hand-off the offensive blockers blast a hole so big in the defense that the ball carrier isn't touched by anyone. She may be quick for a high school girl, but that's not an argument for parity. OK, she had fun, but that's all. Now...if a female player was playing tackle or guard, on either side of the ball, that would be more interesting, and much less likely. @@RecoveringUA-camAddict

I've coached HS football had a girl named Safari built like a damn Amazon and actually pretty, she had the power/speed of a 5'7 athletic boy. With that being said she'd bully the scrubs on the team, this team they're playing look like scrubs I believe they're actually trying to tackle her. But they're probably already getting pumbled if she's in the game so they're tired

Alright I'll post the obvious comment that people will just dismiss as "hAtEfUL" (it's not though, it actually comes from a place of love, I don't hate anybody, to do so is deeply sinful) :
I don't care what all these idiot libs say, the dudes will not play the same against a chick as they will against a dude in a sport like this. It's practically an instinctual thing for males. Be honest with yourself - as a high school dude playing real football, would you ever tackle a chick like this with the ferocity that you would to another dude who's actually good? And if we condition our young men to be just as comfortable plowing through a teenage girl as they would be doing the same to another bro - is that even a good thing?
I don't think so. I think it's actually a really bad thing. It's decent and normal and natural for boys to feel uncomfortable getting violent and physically competitive with females. Why on earth are we trying to condition that out of them? How could that possibly be good?
This shit is either foolishly dangerous, or it's utterly debased. At the very least it's just ruining the sport because now the dudes can't play 100%.
Furthermore, this ruins the sanctity of the male locker room, it messes with the vibes that exist and SHOULD exist when a bunch of young men get together to do something competitive and sort of violent...
It speaks to a much larger problem we have in our modern culture.
Not every single thing should be "accepting" and "tolerant" of every single person or type of person; that's not a feasible way to have a society or a culture, it's delusional and destructive to teach the younger generations that they can expect the world to accomodate them like this, and it's really only going to water down and ruin everything we hold dear if we actually follow through with it.
Grow up. If you're born a female, you can't play football competitively with the boys. Too f bad. If you're born a dude, you can't race track and field with the ladies. Tough beans. Not everything is open and available to accomdate you in life. If some kid wants to do something that's reasonably off limits to them, then it's a good teaching moment to instill in the child a sense of humility and help them understand that the world doesn't revolve around them. Because in actual fact, MOST things are unavailable to MOST people. We all have to conform to the culture we're born into to some degree - or at least it ought to be that way if we want the culture to produce virtuous people who lead meaningful lives.
But since we're making our culture into a toxic mess by constantly accomodating every whim of everybody (except SWMs obviously) and teaching people that somehow that this makes us moral and virtuous, we will inevitably collapse into ourselves and become a culture of weak, aimless and destructive people.
Please stop doing this. It's so dumb. Americans should have more love for their traditions and their culture, for their young men and their young women, than to let the wokes cannibalize everything that carries any sort of cultural significance to them. Only people who reeeeally don't give af about football could think;
"what's the big deal with putting some girls on the team and letting them play with the boys? Where's the harm? Just go easy on her and we'll get the news crews out to make a big deal about it. It's only football, it doesn't really matter. It doesn't matter that these young men are suffering and pushing themselves to their limits to perform at their peak and cultivate ambition and prowess - it's all just to make us feel good about ourselves as spectators so throw a few ponytails in there why not"
