Simply an unbelievably simple fix to a problem I've had for a year, and luckily stumbled across this fix here, after lots of research and dead ends. Wow! Thanks.
I followed the instructions given in this video 1-year ago and want to report that, since the repair, I've had no issues with the rear window on my Sequoia. Thanks again!
Hi bru , thank you so much for showing me how to get my rear window to work. The Toyota dealer wanted $1,600.00 to replace the window motor. I told them NO WAY !!!. That was five years ago. Thanks to you, I have a working rear window.
this works.....thank you so much.......my window had not been working for years.......and after checking the fuses i had assumed that the motor or ECU was faulty and had not bothered to explore it any further.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! This worked! I haven't tried out rear defrost or windshield wiper but window does work correctly after this video. I am proud of myself after this self-fix and not being After an hour or so of self labor, I was able to fix it thanks to your video.
Unbelievable. I have gone 10 years without the back window told by dealership the last time they fixed my latch that they could replace the window motor at same time for extra $300. Decided to replace my latch myself this time and at the same time I thought maybe I will replace the window motor since the back panel was off. Happened by chance to see this video and within 30 seconds my window now works. :)
Oscar, this is great. I was replacing the rear hatch handle and cable today and wish I saw this so I could kill 3 birds with one stone. Good thing I am familiar with removing g the trim pieces and metal panel so this will be an easy fix.
The bolts in mine are already down on the track. So I attempted to loosen them to see if they will slide up and they won't. I tightened everything back up and window still won't roll down. Any ideas? Thanks!
First off, thanks for the tutorial. Second, quick question, by doing this, will this also fix my inoperable rear windshield wiper and defroster? Thanks
Andrei I’ll tell you what fixes that. Hold the rear window button in the up position, turn on the ignition and keep the button pressed for about 15 seconds. Wiper and defrost will resume with that factory reset. Unfortunately my rear window still won’t go up or down. If you try to roll the rear window down with the button, it’s trips it again and you will need to reset. Insane.
Hi, My rear window came off track. Do you know how to fix it? I was wondering if you can give me some tips on how to fix it. Its pretty cold out. Thanks
My apologies for this late of response. Hopefully you got things going for now. Honestly you'll need to do a similar thing, but you will need a metal clasp and rubber strips for your window to stay in place. Good thing is that you probably already have these things in place or somewhere near. If not let me in know and I'll personally guide you through the steps
Matthew Galles my 2006 did the same thing the other day. I got it back up and it stayed but I need to figure out what happened. How does the glass attach to the regulator?
Matthew were you able to fix this? I have same model, back window went down and won't come back up. I read online to pop off the plastic trim and lube the tracks, and use wd40 on any other moving parts that look rusted. Haven't tried it yet, the car is not with me at the moment, it happened to my wife while she is travelling. Just trying to get as much advice as possible before attempting fix.
@@MarshallBLewis hey. I'm try it one day this week I hope it works. I have the same problem I'm my truck just the little noise when I hit the back window button. Thx
If your reset the ECU manually but the window won’t roll down (and also causes the defrost or wiper feature to no longer work without again resetting the ECU) then this video may help you. The issue is likely a seized rear window motor. I recorded this video after I fixed my own : ua-cam.com/video/SoKi214OElQ/v-deo.html
My window clicked but would not roll down. Used this video m.ua-cam.com/video/S9FeZJwc7vY/v-deo.html to figure out how to remove the trim and it took about 15 minutes start to finish and the window works like a champ now.
You are the BOMB! For 10 years I could not get gate window to budge on my 03 Sequoia until I saw this video today. Worked like a charm. Thank you !!

This is an interesting and informative video. Since you filmed this video, have you had any problems with your rear window?

My rear window went down unevenly and won't go back up. Any advice on how to fix? It's a 2008 Toyota Sequoia limited. Thanks
Matthew Galles hoping that you are ok and fixed your window / not to $$

my truck makes a small click noise and that's all any idea on what the problem is
My Sequoia was just making the click noise too and not moving and I followed this video and now it works going up and down

Same. The window clicked but didn’t move and this fixed it. Takes about 15 minutes to pop trim panel off/on and fix it but totally worth it.
Genius
