Rewinding coils is basically impossible. Just so many damn winds that a human hand would struggle with also the thin wire can easily break then you have to start all over. Without a machine it would be super hard to match the quality it started with. I am trying to figure out a 3d print wire winding machine so I can do this at home because it would be so great.

Also I would stitch the copper with an extra cord and not damage the spider? At least thats how I did it

How did you realign the coil? Doesn't seem like you removed the dustcap? I have a kicker L3 that has one of those none removable dustcaps and I don't know how to realign it.

Carefully lol. You can tap finger around the inner lip of the surround to see how close the coil is to the pole, and shift it as necessary.

I have a snapped lead on an old alpine type R 12. Didn't want to run a new tinsel but will if I need to. Could I just solder a little extension to reconnect it or should I just run a whole new one from terminal to coil pad? Can't really get rid of the old tinsel though because it's in the spider
