I was in the Royal signals for 2 years ,and we used to go air rifle shooting in Berkeley st ,which belonged to Caledonian,this was in 1983. Maybe they moved there ,from west princes st
kibble wasnt that bad i spent a few years there myself , if the truth be told i actually quite liked it the food was good and the staff were all quite nice , but borstal was brutal it definetly was the short sharp shock i needed, it was all bed blocks., beastings , forced circuits and cell inspections it was alot like basic training in the army with the constant inspections and we were referred too as trainees not prisoners or convicts , it was one of only a few young offenders institutes too still have a borstal regime in the 90s, 1996 i landed there and from what i've been told it kept the borstal regime right up into the 2000s until it became an adult prison around 2010 i think its a deportation prison now, kinda fitting for a prison thats on a bleak island out in the english channel, the whole island is pretty much one big prison ,the island is only 5 miles long 2 miles wide and it has 2 massive prisons on it , hmp the verne and hmp portland
