Suggestion : maybe you could invite experienced police officers on the show? here the topic is knives, maybe an ex-cop could talk about the most common situations, wounds, lines of attack, etc.
And this is exactly why, last video, I said id rather engage with a baseball bat wielder over a knife wielder. The concealment of the knife, the ease of closing distance, and movements are less telegraphed as well as its easier imo to get killed by a knife. This isn't a id rather be beaten by a bat vs id rather be stabbed comment either. Some idiot last time thought that.
It's a big transition and a steep learning curve from fightsport to street application. Of course someone trained in fightsport has the skills but the strategy, focus on minimal technique, understanding of the challenges, dynamics and pressures takes a lot of work.
When it comes to defense against weapons like knives, baseball bats, etc. Nick's way is better. When it comes to defense against grapples like headlocks, rear naked chokes, etc. Elias' way is better. That's how I see it.
Only a stupid attacker will hold a knive against the chest in this way. In reality they hold it against your throat or stab right away and because of that and the real speed you will never be able to catch the weapon!
@Nick Drossos first gotta say big fan of your channel and the content you put out. But one thing that bothers on this video is in most knife situations the attacker would never have their arm with the knife extended that much usually the attack/threat will be at close range or they will grab your shirt for leverage. As explained in the video of course don’t let them grab you but at the same time as you have explained in most of your knife defenses 9/10 attackers will keep the knife hidden until they have closed the gap, or will grab you first then pull out the knife. An average person would of course focus on the hand going for the grab leaving them potentially open for the knife side. Not at all putting the techniques down just my opinion after viewing, but I don’t have years of experience as well so I don’t mind some correction...haha might keep me alive😅
best advice was to make distance and escape. If you play with a knife attacker you will get cut and potentially really bad. Watch this knife attack video. Even if it might be practiced or cooperative interaction, consider the speed and fatality of a cut like this. ua-cam.com/video/toWPVtWpzwQ/v-deo.html

The thing is in real life. The aggression is more. Can't disarm so easy
this guy may know lot about MMA but nothing about self defense, Nick you're the only guy i trust in this subject!
I think this guy needs to watch some of your videos, ND. His wooden techniques are no match for dynamic reality.
Exactly what I thought. I don't really like his appearances, all around.
Just because someone is a pro fighter doesnt mean that he has trained on street fighting like krav maga or similar styles.

@@dimk7510 good point but KM is bullshit
@@SicFromTheKush have you ever trained km? Why do you think is bs?
Maybe we should ask former convicts or correctional officers about the reality of knife attacks.

Wish it happened this slow in real life lol good video guys ❤️
Thank you for sharing
Y'all work well together
Nice video Nick always love to learn some new selfdefense tipps. Keep it up.👍
Thanks for watching!

In some instances, rather than attacking, a knife wielder may hold their knife against your chest while saying: "Hand over your money."
