This is my FAVORITE song of ALL TIME (and that says A LOT!!). That guitar riff is the most intensely felt song I've ever felt in my soul. A Masterpiece!!!! PLEASE watch the original video. It. Is. FIRE!! Kip Winger is a classically trained musician and he's incredible to watch. 😍😍😍🙌🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
Reb is the guitarist's guitarist. As a studio musician he worked with the Bee Gees, Fiona, Chaka Khan, Twisted Sister to name but a very small fraction, and had played/plays w/Alice Cooper, Dokken, Whitesnake, Black Swan. The man is a BEAST!
@@MacCormaic I only saw him twice on Winger's tour for the 2nd album. Tried to see him with Whitesnake twice but David cancelled the shows/tours. At least I might get to catch him with Winger again in the future.
Finally! I love Kip Winger!! ✌️😊🧿💙you needed to see the video though. Kip was the singer and bass player. He also scores music which is why musically, I love this song.
I have to say, I am so glad that you guys are opening your heart and minds to all this new music that you guys have never heard before, I hope you guys enjoy it as much as we did and still do
I saw Winger live a couple months ago and they've still got it. They were the support band and their set was fantastic, dare I say it better than the main show. I would definitely go see them again.
Winger was such a great band. I honestly don’t think they had any bad songs. Their first three albums were great. I know they got a bad rap from Bevis and Butthead but they were excellent. They are great musicians.
If only everyone had known how good we had it in the availability of good music like this and that this kind of music would disappear and not return, the mockers would have better appreciated bands like this and the music they put out. As another rock band put it, you don't know what you got til its gone (Cinderella).
Don't sleep on Rod Morgenstein on the drums either. But there were keys playing along with the guitar to create the part you were describing as symphonic. Watch the official video sometime to see Reb play those solos, really something to behold. Always love the part where he lifts the guitar with the whammy bar to hit that high pitch note at the end of the 1st solo. Kip is a violinist, composer and does ballet in addition to bass, vocals and acoustic guitar (12-string). He has solo albums of classical music in addition to what he does with Winger the band. The band has continued to make great, stellar music through the years despite the lack of popularity for hard rock/metal in this country. I personally love the album Karma from 2009, not a bad track on it. They have a new album '7' coming out later this summer. Going to go see them live this June. If you ever get a chance to see one of Kip's solo acoustic shows, don't miss it, such a great, laid back, funny, intimate show. Kip is incredible. Extremely underrated. I should also add the he is a symphonic composer now to the list of his many great accomplishments, and he is recognized in the classical community for his work. So clearly not just an 80s poser.
These guys are all talented, Reb Beach plays with Whitesnake and is a much sought after studio musician, played for the Bee Gees and other major artists. John Roth (guitarist) also plays with Starship.. Paul Taylor played with Journey too, as well as he wrote "Miles Away." Kip writes orchestral music-you really need to react to - WINGER - Headed For A Heartbreak (live with Colorado Symphony)!!!
I saw pictures of Winger playing gigs from a few nights ago. The original band is back together and touring. The new album "Seven" (2022)features a track called "It All Comes Back Around" and I dare Asia not to get goose bumps watching the video. How on earth does Kip Winger still sound so good and how can Reb keep improving and saying something so unique with his guitar work? We should bow to Winger. We're not worthy!!!🤘
Met Reb at a guitar clinic show in Philly . Super nice guy Great guitarist. I remember him preaching that night you gotta have your good rhythm chops down before anything else , ha !!!
They have a new album out right now.....and all songs I heard are just great.....still going! The album this track is from I bought together with the first Skid row, right after I bought Guns 'n roses' Appetite for destruction.....and so began my journey into hardrock/metal. Before that I was mostly into rap/hiphop/funk/electro/dance.
Fun fact: the drummer Rod Morgenstein (formerly of the Dixie Dregs) was “allowed,” to inject odd meter into Winger’s music, which set them apart from most other hair bands of the time.

Awesome choice! Not your average hair band! Absolutely symphonic sounding. This was off their first album, Winger. This and "Seventeen" were the stand out tracks from that release. Having said that they just dropped a brand new video last week. It's called "It All Comes Back Around".. it's Deep and the song is incredible! I hope you find it and do it! Kip Winger is the vocalist, bassist and formidable arranger. Reb Beach is the guitarist extraordinaire! The drummer Rod Morgenstein was from the prog rock band The Dixie Dregs who were off the chains.
Wow, Winger and Lynch Mob in the same night! I wore this cassette out. Miles Away and Without the Night are more ballads. Madelaine, Hungry and Seventeen are more bangers and all of them are really good songs! I'm pretty sure when this song came out, I remember hearing that the producers wanted to shorten up or get rid of the outro guitar solo just for the radio airplay, but the band fought to keep it in. I'm glad the won.

I played their tapes over and over. They were big and on MTV a lot for awhile. Kip Winger used to be in Alice Cooper's band & was also a ballet dancer!
