Huns are the type to hand you a peanut knowing you might have a peanut allergy, then tell you that you used it wrong when you’re carted off to the hospital
Now you know I would never join an MLM, buuuut, if I did, damn straight it'd be one I could announce myself to everyone as Empress and Her Royal Highness, Lady Of The Pyramid....
My mom worked as an aide at a school where they would do a real book shower for every employee who had a baby or grandbaby. Everyone would just donate a book. My daughter had a children's library of close to FORTY books when she was just 8 weeks old! No MLM required. It was such a blessing and now that she is 15 she is keeping the better part of her favorites. An invaluable baby shower!
For my baby shower my sister in law had everyone bring a book instead of a card and write a little note in it!! It was the best. My son loves hearing everyone’s notes and we built a great collection from the beginning. 💕📚
Yeah! We did this at my cousins baby shower too. I went to the local bookstore and picked books from indy authors including one about a Mexican immigrant who visits her family in the US and Mexico with both basic Spanish and English phrases and a book about a book called 'This Little Environmentalist' about how to recycle, treat animals well, save water, etc. I hate baby showers but it was super fun to pick out books I felt could be beneficial in the future and sign them.
One of my good friends asked for inscribed children's books instead of cards at her baby shower, and that was so sweet. We all got to put well wishes for the family in the books we chose.
I once went to a baby shower (held for an elementary school teacher), and they had the guests bring books and write notes in them instead of bringing a card. Definitely something I plan to do at my baby shower one day. I thought it was a great idea!
Omg, I have gone out when people have wanted to split evenly and I just say no. If they give me a hard time, I say I have to go to the bathroom and just to to the hostess and pay my portion. Then I say mine is paid when the bill comes. Might be catty, but I will not spend money I don't agree to
I googled the anaphylaxis thing and there really are peer reviewed case studies of stress induced and even exercise induced anaphylaxis. Crazy to think about but also funny because now this person can literally make the claim that she is allergic to bs. 😂😂😂
Yeah it's wild. I believe it, I have anxiety and have had bad panic attacks. While I've never got anaphylaxis, I have felt many crazy symptoms including my whole body going fuzzy and shaking. So I believe it's very possible.
Yeah, I was actually really grateful to hear Hannah say that she believed in the reported symptoms. I have a condition called MCAS, where my body likes to release too many histamines. For me, this can happen from diet, environmental stressors, illness, and yes, mental stress! Whenever I get a flare and it causes anaphylaxis, I almost roll my eyes at how dramatic the human body can be. So glad that the emailer is okay!
The girl who had the Mary Kay experience at the Mexican restaurant should have told them " I was planning to buy a few things but since I had to contribute so much to your dinners and drinks I can't order anything". 😂
I'm a woman, and I can tell you what my response would have been, "Not a chance, ladies. You bought expensive meals, and I didn't. I'm not paying for your choices. If you're so rich, pay for it yourself." To the server, "Please bring my bill separately, thanks." I very much have 0 cares left to give for user-friends who only wish to take advantage of me.
@@lilessab85some people (me included) have a very hard time saying no. I’m super afraid of conflict and I have low confidence making it difficult to stand up for myself, so I can understand why OP felt like she couldn’t just say no.
Good: The cats screaming for the attention they deserve. Bad: Your baby shower being attacked by an MLM. Very bad: Having some weird lady put make up on your face with her fingers in the middle of a restaurant. Horrific: A grown-a adult calling herself 'Ruby Crown Princess' aloud where people can hear her.
Oh dear lord, I thought ruby crown Princess was a satirical jab from the person that sent the email... I am dumbfounded these are actually the rank names. How can this be real? Sounds like an MLM for toddlers.
So fun fact, I wore senegence lipstick at my wedding because it was supposed to be so long lasting. I applied it very carefully, exactly as recommended and within an hour it was flaking off. It looked HORRIBLE by the time of the ceremony. When I complained about it they told me it was because my lips were dry and so that’s why it was flaking off… ummm no my lips weren’t dry. The product is just trash.
THANK GOD I WATCHED THIS! Im looking for a job and I got a call from Legal Shield. We spoke briefly since I was busy at the moment but scheduled a call for this week. I found it odd that they contacted me since I never applied there nor I am in the legal field at all but I was going to give them a chance to tell me what was it all about. Just letting you know that Im definitely canceling that meeting.
Happy you found this just in tbe nick of time! Wish I could have my two weeks back from joining American Income Life, a life insurance MLM, lol. Never would have thought something as serious as life insurance could be an MLM and they didn't seem overly pushy about recruiting, which would've been my tip-off. Still, there were a few red flags that should've warned me sooner. At least I only lost $40 for the background/drug check.
Im so sorry that happened to you. Thank god things didn’t go way too far. Its crazy how they manage to disguise themselves as real regular jobs and how they can be found in any industry.
Years ago one of my best friends decided to sell LipSense. I wanted to support her so I helped her get her first party all set up, her upline was there helping her get ready with information, etc. I hadn't tried it yet because I simply didn't want to. Just didn't like the thought of "lip stain". But once the party rolled around and people started trying it out, I decided to as well. It tasted horrid, my lips first stuck together then became super gross and tight and the color was ugly. I felt so bad for her because no one bought anything, but that was also the last time she attempted to sell the product. I know she was embarrassed, but no one blamed her.
I was with Senegence for 2 years! I reached "Crown Princess", and I not only spent money having to place my own "qualifying orders" every month, but I got so obsessed with trying to rank up, that I'd place qualifying orders on the accounts of my downline (with their consent, and I paid for it!). And I was NOT the only one who did this. The amount you have to spend, and the online brawls that reps go through to be the first to get new products is absolutely insane! And yes, I always thought the product packaging was horrendous 🤦♀️ It's been about 3 years since I left that company, and I still find bags of products that I never used. I have thrown away thousands of dollars in inventory. It's sad.
I only stuck it out in Senegence for a year. First year taxes and the guy that was preparing my taxes told me to get out and run as far from the company as possible. I took his advice. Man so many were just cruel to those that decided to get out of the company that were just attempting to get something back for all the invetory that they were encouraged to frontload. It was also horrible that they created fomo by making supply shortages. Glad to be out.
@samanthakoch6945 what years were you active in Senegence? Did you do FB Live and posting and stuff? I was active in Senegence 2016-2017 and I SWEAR I remember seeing content in some of the Senegence groups by someone with a name similar to yours! 😂 Your story brought back so many memories of what it was like being "in" and of "getting out" lol - it's like a cult or prison!
For my baby shower, we sent a "this book is from" sticker for inside a book and requested books instead of cards. We loved it, and they weren't mlm books lol
For me the "splitting the bill evenly" is a completely new concept, and it makes NO sense! Why would I pay for your expensive steak, if I eat pasta? I don't see a reason where that would make sense??
Even worse when the people are well aware that going out to dinner (and getting water/the cheapest thing on the menu) is a luxury and that it genuinely makes the difference between trying to survive until the next check comes in. That story made me feel so bad for some reason.
I mean, the idea is a nice one if everyone gets an entree that's close in price and say, one drink- sure - if everyone is eating a $16-$20 entree, and has a $6-$8 alcoholic drink, then, cool- there you go. It's not really a big deal for everyone to chip in equally - because if you really pay $2-3 more or less than you really owe... Is that a big deal to anyone? But the problem comes in when there's always someone who gets the MOST expensive entree, two appetizers and has three drinks- when someone else gets a small side salad, and then you've got one person subsedizing a HUGE part of the first person's GIANT bill... And that's never cool.. In high school and beyond, for years, I went to eat with the same group of friends every single Friday. We almost always split the bill evenly - because we almost always ordered within the same $5 or so of everyone else - so it was no big deal.... But any time a person wanted to order something wildly outside the norm - we would ALWAYS ask on our own for separate checks. Also - the allergic reaction - is called mast cell activation disorder. It's 1000% a thing. Hightened emotions can absolutely trigger horrible reactions in your body. It's a condition that absolutely ties in with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and low blood pressure issues from POTS- Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome.
It's one of those things that was meant for specific circumstances (like getting a party platter or a pizza, or intending to eat family style), that people end up trying to apply to everything. Side note, if someone can't pitch in, the person who invited them should either cover or subsidize, or that person can pay the tip if it's a lot less than their portion of the bill
I've never heard of someone insisting that a person with them splits a bill at a restaurant evenly instead of by what they ordered. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. These people are crazy.
As a former Senescence hun (ugh that’s hard to say!) I can confirm that all of the suspicions you have about the company are spot on! It’s impossible to make money, you are forced to hoard inventory and honestly the packaging looks super gaudy and tacky looking. They really don’t do anything to disguise the business model and most people don’t last more than a few months thankfully! Something I never understood was they used to tell us all the time about the different celebrities that use the LipSense line and how much they love and rely on it for concerts but we were absolutely NOT allowed to mention this to anyone outside of the company and couldn’t use it as a marketing tool. I get the feeling it’s because, like everything else in an MLM, it’s total BS 😂
My daughter in law had a bring your favorite book to her shower.. I had kept all of my kids books which was massive and was able to bring inscribed ones that belonged to her husband, my son. To this day , I read all of these when I watch my granddaughter and she often goes home with them. I love that they love books and it’s such a bonding experience to snuggle up and read a stack
Concerning books for showers, I’ve been involved in a couple showers for teachers who requested children’s books instead of cards. People would sign their names and well wishes into the books and the books go toward building the baby’s library.
When I was pregnant, I had a book-themed baby shower as I was a high school English teacher. My friend made invitations that looked like library cards, and everyone brought one book that they loved as a young child in addition to whatever gift they also wanted to give. Or just the book itself was fine as well. I absolutely loved all the conversations I had with my friends regarding their book choices, and these turned out to be some of my boys' favorites. ❤
I had the best baby shower idea 4 years ago with my son! Instead of ppl spending $5+ on a card that is going to get read then pitched, I had the idea to request everyone buy a book and sign it on then inside so my son could have something! Ended up leaving my shower with over 50 books!! Also did a diaper raffle! I told everyone who was coming if they purchased a box of diapers I’d put their name in a raffle & I bought a couple gift cards and drew 2 names! We didn’t have to buy diapers for the first few months! I tell every pregnant person that I meet to do this! It’s smart! Also dolly Parton has a free book program where you can register your baby the min they are born to receive 1 free book a month so let’s just say we have more books than we know what to do with! 💗💗😍😍
One of my previous friends sent me an Usborne message a while back. I DON'T HAVE KIDS and she knew that. The message didn't sound anything like her either. It was bizarre. I told her to get out ASAP and asked if she was okay. She never responded. 🤦🏾
The only reason I know about Senegence is because a beauty guru tried one of their lipsticks and didn’t like it. The comments were flooded with huns saying she didn’t use it right. It’s such weird behavior.
I’ve tried their lipstick, it was horrible! Dried out my lips. They tell you that you have to use it and nothing but their products on your lips for something like 6 months and then your lips will be healed, healthy and better then they have ever been. I used nothing but their products for 8 months and not only did I not see improvement my lips were worse then they had ever been!
@@lesliesheppard6112 Get some Cerave Healing Ointment or Vaseline and slather it on your lips every night. It will do your lips so much better and save you tons of money.
If the beauty guru was Tati Westbrook - I’ve seen that video- and she is one of the UA-camrs who we know - she knows how to apply lipstick. At the time she was also doing weird wtf products and had done some pretty wild lip applications from Non MLM brands so their arguments that she probably had never had a double step lipstick was hilarious.
Your content saved me from joining "WFG" (World Financial Group). I started thinking something was off when I joined and was added to a zoom call with the "top" people. Also having to write out 100 people I know and to narrow that down to the people we'd call to buy life insurance. The pressure I felt was crazy so I just ghosted them all together
Hannah, these stories were full of cringe moments! What I hate about MLM leaders is that they will pretend to be very friendly with you, then make fun of you when you decide you want to leave!
hey hannah! i’m a pre-med student studying for a chemistry test right now, and listening to your videos in the background is making it bearable ! thanks queen 💕
I have seen a Mary Kay makeover drawing box in a bar here in Wisconsin. The same box has been there for well over a year and you just know it’s being used to collect tons of contacts to message. They all probably “win” something. I think of these videos every time I see it.
Yes. They all win a free makeover. Where they get to try the products. The customer puts the product on themselves, washes off themselves. While they are being sold to about the product, and how great it is to be a MK Consultant. The free box is used just to get contacts.
Yep! I've "won" a Mary Kay draw before. But up in Canada. I think that contest box is there go to move to find people. Thankfully I was warned as to what it was before I went.
I had a “book” baby shower and it was so much fun. I asked that guest would bring their favorite book instead of a card and my son is now 2 years old and he still has all of the book from his baby shower and we love reading them together and the notes that people left for him.
My family went on vacation. My bf lived at our place to feed our cat Jackson. When we got home he turned his back at us and ignored us for a week, so mad we left him. Only acknowledged my bf who hadn't.
In my family, we all ALWAYS give a book instead of a card for all baby showers. And we have a big family, so every baby comes into the world with a huge library of their own!
Not only does reading to a child create this bond between the reader and the child, it also helps them get started on reading. I babysat this child many days during the week. I'd read to him when I put him to bed. I had a feeling his parents didn't do that as much. It made me sad because he was so intelligent and he needed to be nurtured.
The thing with books for babies is that they thrive from repetition so a few really good books is all you need to start off with. I'm a primary school teacher and I loved lying down with my kids on the floor or on the grass in the sun, reading the same 4 or 5 books to them. My kids are 24 and 17 now and reading with them as babies are some of my favourite memories.
it depends on the person. I remember I had about 20-30 books I loved when I was first starting to read at age 3ish. At preschool they only had a few books and I grew tired of them all within the first couple weeks. My parents started trying to give me longer/more engaging books at 4-5 which was great for me. I was reading (kid safe!) books meant for teens/young adults at age 6. x) (+ that's not an exaggeration; I have notebooks from that age where I talk about my favourite Greek myths and historical figures) if your kid enjoys repetition, that's great. but don't force it on them. you might be holding them back.
For any shy/introvert/people pleasers going out to eat with people they don’t know well, as soon as your servers gets to the table ask for separate bills. It’s easier for the server if they know before hand & you don’t end up “splitting” the bill when you order a side salad and water. And the excuse of it’s easier for the servers works well if anyone asks why you said it right away.
Books are always my go-too baby gift! Especially since my husband is from Australia and there are sooo many great kids' books that were new to me when my kids were young.
I really relate to the lonely girl. I’m pretty introverted and it’s hurtful to have a rare social connection based on a lie lol. Sales pitches are cringy enough, but the salt in the wound is the fake offer of friendship.
Wow. These MLM stories are crazy. I have friends who have been involved in these things. But I refuse to be involved, and will not attend any “party” where someone is selling something and I will be pressured to buy something to “support” a friend. I go to stores to buy stuff, and parties to have fun. Luckily, my friends have stopped asking me to participate. As the answer is always NO! Great video. 😊
I once taught a child who would get so anxious that she MIGHT have an allergic reaction that it would regularly actually trigger her anaphylaxis despite not being exposed to the allergen. The poor little mite ❤ it would begin like a panic attack and become anaphylaxis.
For my daughters baby shower or maybe first birthday I can’t remember now. We asked for a book in lieu of card or gift and asked that they sign the book with a message to her. So now when we do bed time if there’s a book with writing she asks about it. One is from a cousin who passed from cancer so they are very special now and she always says “they love me that’s why I have a books from them”.
wow. that first story went way deeper than i thought it would. like i had to rewatch multiple parts multiple times because the mindsets were just so extremely different and it was very well written. it was like getting into a crazy persons head, thinking like them, and then watching their behaviour from a non-crazy persons perspective. it was very insightful and kinda scary. i hope the person who wrote that story writes a book one day
I can’t stand how these companies claim to “uplift women” and “woman power” while simultaneously putting other women down and shaming them for not wanting to invest money in crap products.
When we had a baby shower for my niece, we had people use a book as a card....so they had a nice book along with a loving message in it for the kids. It was awesome!
I'm usually pretty good at recognizing MLMs but I got caught with the Usborne books. I thought it was like getting books for a friend. They definitely didn't tell the ppl that the person was going to have to pay the taxes and S&H for the ppl who were gifting. That's insane and even upsets me that I participated thinking I was doing a nice thing
For my baby shower instead of cards we asked everyone to use a book as the card and write messages for the baby. It was a great way to build his library and we got books for all ages and it’s neat to see everyone’s messages when we read them ❤️
Your cats are adorable and must really love you. It sounds like they missed you and you probably missed them a little too, hope your parents are doing good
For my baby showers and the baby showers I throw I ask people to bring books instead of cards. They can write special messages to the baby and then the baby can keep them or pass them on or whatever, but it can act just like a card or it can be just the book. And fir the price of cards nowadays you can get a pretty nice book for about the same. It really kick starts a child's library.
It's widely accepted that stress can cause all sorts of general physical ailments, but as soon as it's something specific (like anaphylaxis), people are like, "Sounds fake but okay."
I’ve slowly been rewatching everything because I’m pretty sure I’ve seen all the horror stories and fails. It’s just as fun to watch them a second time!
The Usborne story was so crazy, if someone attempted to charge me money for what was supposed to be gifted to me for my shower I would have been LIVID. I remember years ago after I had my daughter, a friend that used to be part of our DnD group tried to get me to order books and host parties with Usborne. Luckily I was already aware of the scams of MLMs and turned her down. Months later she tried to sell me Pampered Chef since I've been working at bakeries for years. I'm in the industry professionally; I already have everything I need and I don't want space-wasting kitchen clutter gadgets
Usborne! Literally two days ago, I was shopping at a major book retailer in Tokyo called Kinokuniya. Right there in the children's section was a large island display of Usborne books! The sign said they were a major publisher of children's books in the UK, but I thought someone would pop up from under the table and try to pitch me on the opportunity!
Stress hives- this is something I personally experience. My diagnosis is technically Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria but after a few years of dealing with this condition, I have identified triggers and stress is one, especially crying. My entire face swells up especially my eyes, which can make me a complete potato for days in a row. Imagine going through life in essence allergic to crying. I don't personally experience full blown anaphylaxis, but I have heard from others in Facebook groups related to this condition that they can experience anaphylaxis. It's a debilitating invisible chronic illness that very few people know about. Other triggers for me include ground meat and extended pressure.
Chiming in on the story where the girl talks about being lonely. I was a very shy, socially awkward a young woman and it seemed like I became MLM magnet. I fell for many scams thinking I was making friends! Once I did the work to build by self esteem, I begin to see the MLM’s for what they were! Also having sold Mary Kay, the consultant probably chose a busy restaurant on on purpose in hopes of getting other customers’ attention.
Stress based anaphylaxis is absolutely a thing. My brother was hospitalized after receiving devastating news as a teen, and has always had a very emotionally triggered immune system.
I insist on it, primarily because I’m the spendy one. I often enjoy treating myself at restaurants and I can’t drink alcohol, so I’m getting the lava cake and special ordering a mocktail. Other peoples finances are none of my business and I don’t assume anything. I have a lot of nice friends who will go along with it if I don’t say anything, or even argue that they want to split even. I’ll show them the receipt and refuse. That usually works lol.
I remember that wish list pitch from the one Rodan + Field party I attended! Also, I am getting ads for Beach Boss Influencers training, all about growing your downline...all of the MLM training online is all about recruiting, never a word about product sales. They are hiding in plain sight! Btw I looked for stress related anaphylaxis and several scholarly articles came up.
I broke out in crazy angry red hives all up my arms once when I was very very upset one time so I absolutely know the anaphylactic reaction the person had was from being so upset
The Usborne BABY shower happened to me, too!!!!!!! I was HOSPITALIZED long term at 26 weeks trying to keep baby girl in, so I didn't get my baby shower. At all. So, when this was offered, and I'm a HUGE book nerd, and told hey! you can browse and make a wish list from your HOSPITAL BED! I fell for it. The scattered website and the insanely RANDOM and unknown books were soooooo frustrating. Just a mess. I'm grateful, buy wish I knew more. I still get emails and suggestions to buy. Lol. Nope. But I love the idea outside of Usborne.
When I was born, my grandmother asked a friend to make me a kid’s book. Mainly, her friend made a book by sewing “blank” hard fabric (something similar to cotton, but cheaper, although I don’t know the name) and painted cute drawings on them. She even painted my name on the cover. My mom always washed it with my clothes and I still have it to this day. It was the first book I’ve got! Also, in my 1st birthday, my mom’s friend gave my first “real” book. It was made of hard paper and talked about environment and nature. It also had A LOT of information in the last two pages that I only actually read when I was a teen and I was surprised to see a lot of good information there. And I also have this one to this day.
For the Usborne story: my cousin also sold these books in the past and I hosted a few parties for her (had no idea it was an MLM). I never had to pay shipping and taxes for my guests purchases and she always covered the shipping and tax for mine as a gift for hosting the party. I got tons of free books and never payed a cent. However, I do remember asking her what her percentage of profit was and don’t remember the number I know I thought it was very low for all the work she put into it. I don’t think she sells anymore.
I have to say - I do love usborne books for my daughter. But I buy them off of thriftbooks ever since I was roped into a book party and spent like $150 on maybe 7 books. Love them, but heck no lol. Side note - we did books instead of cards at our baby shower! Super cute because most people signed a note to my daughter in them so it really is a true keepsake versus a card that will eventually get chucked or forgotten.
OHHH GIRL. I’d love to share my experience with Usborne and what I know about it. I got some TEA. Lol (teaser: they use child cancer for sales) But that story is weird. Idk how she did the party, but the host isn’t responsible for the shipping of other people’s orders.. but yes. The free books aren’t free because of the ridiculous shipping prices. The shipping prices are so expensive because.. gotta pay us good, gotta make the (overpriced) books as cheap as possible, gotta pay for these events and trips, etc etc. but seriously. I’d LOVE to talk about it.. I’ve been ITCHING for someone to look into Usborne.
Yeah, they truly do have good books, but they are all available through bookstores anyway and the consultants always get burned in the end. If they were just an honest publishing house, I’d love them. But as an MLM they cause real damage.
@@DracoTriste only a very small selection are available in stores. They specifically tell us they do that so that people have to come to us. The books for the most part are good, but incredibly over priced
You should also go to illuminaughtii's channel and suggest that to her. She does MLM Monday where she goes over the whole company and spills so much tea! It's great to see people giving the info on all these companies
Stress can do weird things to one's body. When I am really stressed, my body temperature raises dramatically. I get a very high fever (around 40-41 degrees Celcius) which lasts for a day or two and then is magically gone. I have this reaction since I remember and for years doctors couldn't really figure out what was happening with my body but now I know I suffer from a psychogenic fever - there is an interesting article in "Temperature" explaing it by Takakazu Oka, entitled "Psychogenic fever: how psychological stress affects body temperatue in clinical population".
You're right the mind and body have a connection. It's called the Vagus nerve (which innervates your digestive system, hence the gut reactions to stress). And the gut is important for the immune system as well as stress decreasing or changing how your immune system reacts. Personally my hay fever started in a period of prolonged stress, my brother's Hashimoto's (an autoimmune disease causing thyroid issues) was exacerbated by stress as he was deployed when it got noticeable and my best friend used to get moderate to severe excema when her stress levels peaked. The longer I stay in the medical field (studied biomedical sciences and now biomed engineering) the more I'm certain the mind and body are the same thing, there's no separation. Stress is just hormones and neurotransmitters released as a reaction to your internal or external environment (including being ill). But this story of anaphylaxis I didn't know was possible, but I'm also not entirely surprised. Our body can create marvellous surprises. Ok, little lesson in physiology is over. I like listening to these stories because the psychology behind it intrigues me. The human mind is interesting and fascinating.
For my SIL’s shower, we were encouraged to gift a copy of a favorite childhood book. My uncle always bought me books and I was so happy I could buy one of my favorite books for my nephew!
when i was a young kid, my mom had a friend who was involved in every MLM possible at some point. my mom would go to her parties and sometimes buy her stuff. i remember her using mary kay and pampered chef and all sorts of things. i also remember my dad saying something like “why are you buying these things? it’s all a pyramid scheme!” he was ahead of his time apparently. from that point i grew up believing MLMs are scams. my dad tried to get my mom’s friend and her husband out of it… but nope… my mom’s now ex friend is still involved in MLMs to this day. 🤪🤪
For my baby shower I asked for a book instead of a card. And write a sweet note to the baby. So that way I keep the "card" not just throw away after. I loved it
As someone also with an education background, all my friends get books with their baby shower gifts and the kids get them every birthday as they age, so that idea would have been so amazing, totally would have suckered me in..man what a let down in end.
I hosted a book themed baby shower for my friend, all of the decorations were book themed and/or made with origami I made myself, some using pages from books I bought at a thrift store. I worked SO hard on those decorations and was super proud of how it turned out.
I feel so sad for that college girl. I'm so sorry. You deserve real friends. I've gone through the splitting the bill too and I have to speak up. I'm on a budget. Hoping your life is great. ❤️
New follower here, thank you for these videos! I love how you are exposing these dangerous companies, but in such a respectful and kind way! This channel is the definition of fighting the power not people.
When I got married in Dec 2007 (exactly 15 years ago tomorrow) I had been using LipSense religiously for a couple years. I had no idea it was MLM and didn’t even have a rep. I just found it online and bought some from this lady’s website. 🤷🏼♀️ I liked how it stayed on all day and even wore it in my wedding. It was expensive so I switched to looking for it in eBay. Wuddya know? I’d find my favorite colors on there for half price! That said, it was EXTREMELY hard to remove, even with their “Oops! Remover” stuff. I had to scrub scrub scrub with the application brush and basically exfoliate my lips every time I wore it. I’ve since learned a lot about the company and MLMs in general (thanks to people like you) and I haven’t bought it in over a decade. L’Oréal infallible and revlon colorstay are my go-to lipsticks now.
Stressed caused anaphylaxis was a new thing for me and I have never heard of it, but I just read an article and I can only imagine it to be horrible. The body / mind connection is so powerful and I had to learn in my life that I had to take good care of my mental health to get rid of my physical problems.
Psychosomatic disorders can present as allergic reactions. I met my mates new gf recently and she told me that her allergies can change daily and are brought on psychosomatically, sometimes she even develops allergies to water. There's an amazing book on this topic called 'It's all in your head' and interestingly the most common presentation is psychosomatic seizures
A horror story from my native Latvia? 😟 I know that people have been roped into Herbalife, Avon, Oriflame, Faberlic but I've never heard of any travel MLMs 😲
I am Latvian and I had a fellow med student who reached out to "grab a coffee" in the hotel Latvia, max fancy for a broke student like me, I was intimidated af.Turned our she had a "friend" with her and they pushed me to joint this travel MLM. I just quickly finished my coffee and "had to go to work". I still feel extremely stupid for being happy about the invite and thinking about what to wear 😄🙈
As a man, I find it hilarious that I could be a Ruby Crown Princess. Imagine seeing that on a resumé.
I think this is your sign to join Senegence...
🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Hire immediately 🤣🤣🤣
I kinda like the sound of Maiden tcort.. Just sayin...
No Baroness, Marchioness, or Viscountess. Also is someone who quits called a Fallen Noble. 😂😂
Every time I open UA-cam, I intend to watch something else, but I can’t stop. I’ve been bingeing your videos non stop.
Huns are the type to hand you a peanut knowing you might have a peanut allergy, then tell you that you used it wrong when you’re carted off to the hospital
It's not an allergy, our peanuts are all natural. It's your body detoxing
You should’ve soaked it in essential oils before you ate it! It’s what ALL the oily families do [side note: I died a little inside typing that]
exactly that 😂
I wish this were a joke
Now you know I would never join an MLM, buuuut, if I did, damn straight it'd be one I could announce myself to everyone as Empress and Her Royal Highness, Lady Of The Pyramid....
I'm DYING
lady of the pyramid 🤣🤣
Pharaoh.
Extra Dave 😂
LOL
My mom worked as an aide at a school where they would do a real book shower for every employee who had a baby or grandbaby. Everyone would just donate a book. My daughter had a children's library of close to FORTY books when she was just 8 weeks old! No MLM required. It was such a blessing and now that she is 15 she is keeping the better part of her favorites. An invaluable baby shower!
For my baby shower my sister in law had everyone bring a book instead of a card and write a little note in it!! It was the best. My son loves hearing everyone’s notes and we built a great collection from the beginning. 💕📚
Such a great idea! Love it.
That is a great idea.
My sister in law did that, too. Bring a book instead of a card for the babies. It was fun.
Yes my friend did this!! I loved that idea so much!
"Ruby Crown Princess" reminds me of the King of the Hill episode Bobby enters the rose growing competition and the way they named the winner titles.
I once went to a baby shower (held for an elementary school teacher), and they had the guests bring books and write notes in them instead of bringing a card. Definitely something I plan to do at my baby shower one day. I thought it was a great idea!
We did that for my baby shower. So cute and a good idea.
We did something like this for my BFF for her first baby. It was so cute!
Ruby Crown Princess sounds like an award for one of those Toddlers in Tiaras pageants!! 😂
Oh it DOES 😂😂😂😂
And Disney. 😊
YES!! That's exactly what I was thinking!
OMG, 100%!
I LOVED that show. It's so cringe.
This is why on facebook I only except friend requests from people that I've a conversation with in person.
Omg, I have gone out when people have wanted to split evenly and I just say no. If they give me a hard time, I say I have to go to the bathroom and just to to the hostess and pay my portion. Then I say mine is paid when the bill comes. Might be catty, but I will not spend money I don't agree to
Not catty at all!
Yeah, not catty at all! You should only be expected to pay your portion, that's fair!
I googled the anaphylaxis thing and there really are peer reviewed case studies of stress induced and even exercise induced anaphylaxis. Crazy to think about but also funny because now this person can literally make the claim that she is allergic to bs. 😂😂😂
HA imagine that’s written on the reason for visit on the check out forms “Reason for visit: allergic to bullshit”
I don't understand why she couldn't just say "no"?
A lot of people (mostly women) are trained to feel that it's bad to say no. That saying no makes you a b.
I get why she didn't say no, she mentioned she was lonely, and trying to make friends. Shame on those two vultures for using her like that!
Same! I thought it had to be satire.
Oh god don’t give any of these MLM people any ideas
@@lo5670 I only have the title Director at the company I work for. My 6 figure annual salary makes up for the fact that I don't have a Royal title.
or like a joke one people would set up for a fantasy or renaissance fair. Which would be hilarious, I'd join that for the fun it.
I think its supposed to go along with themes of empowerment???
Interesting fact: Legal Shield used to be Prepaid Legal
And yes, I always thought the product packaging was horrendous 🤦♀️
It's been about 3 years since I left that company, and I still find bags of products that I never used. I have thrown away thousands of dollars in inventory. It's sad.
Thank you for sharing your experience!! That’s wild 🤯
@@HannahAlonzo - Oh you'll be getting a full horror stories email from me one of these days. That company was a MESS.
Especially nowadays when you can just ask for separate checks.
Yeah, I've heard stories but have never dined with anyone who tried to pull this crap.
This is amazing!! The cards especially, that’s a lot of money spent on something useful between enough people.
That wasn’t your idea. It’s really funny that you think you came up with this.
@@NormaJean951I know right I’ve seen several ppl already mention “their idea” lol.
@@CarrieJessGreat minds think alike :D They all came up with an excellent idea
One of my previous friends sent me an Usborne message a while back. I DON'T HAVE KIDS and she knew that. The message didn't sound anything like her either. It was bizarre. I told her to get out ASAP and asked if she was okay. She never responded. 🤦🏾
The only reason I know about Senegence is because a beauty guru tried one of their lipsticks and didn’t like it. The comments were flooded with huns saying she didn’t use it right. It’s such weird behavior.
@@darksidelaegrinna 😂😂😂
@@anne5182 Yes, it was Tati’s video!
Zeke's happy chirping made my morning! Never apologize for him! 💕
Bumping this comment!
I’m studying for my realty license and I like having her in the background too!
Get it girl!! I’m a med student and doing the same! :)) sending love !
I hope you all are crushing your study goals!
They are going to “win” a free makeover for themselves and 5 friends! Lol
I have anaphylaxis caused by stress. It's a horror.
I feel so bad for all the people going through such things because of shady MLM companies.
“Ruby Crown Princess”?! That’s amazing, in the worst possible way 😂
Story 4: It’s really poetic that an MLM decided to host an event in Stockholm.
Oh my gosh I’m so glad that person didn’t give those guys €500. What an astounding story.
When I was a student, we just paid for our own dinners if we went out. We NEVER split the bill for those exact reasons.
All the princess ranks sound like they came directly from the "Pretty Pretty Princess" game instructions. LOL.
I had a “book” baby shower and it was so much fun. I asked that guest would bring their favorite book instead of a card and my son is now 2 years old and he still has all of the book from his baby shower and we love reading them together and the notes that people left for him.
Love Zeke! His meows are therapeutic 😊
My family went on vacation. My bf lived at our place to feed our cat Jackson.
When we got home he turned his back at us and ignored us for a week, so mad we left him. Only acknowledged my bf who hadn't.
Yea, Cats get really mad when you leave them.
In my family, we all ALWAYS give a book instead of a card for all baby showers. And we have a big family, so every baby comes into the world with a huge library of their own!
I never heard of that. You mean baby books? Children books? Or novels n shit.
@@annacostello5181 We gift children’s books. :)
Not only does reading to a child create this bond between the reader and the child, it also helps them get started on reading. I babysat this child many days during the week. I'd read to him when I put him to bed. I had a feeling his parents didn't do that as much. It made me sad because he was so intelligent and he needed to be nurtured.
My husband once was hospitalized for stress induced anaphylaxis, as well as a previous boss I worked with. It's real and no joke!
@@reidleblanc3140 I was talking about babies not toddlers.
Does anyone else make sure to watch all the ads just to support Hannah? Love the content Hannah!!
I do too! Yay @hannahalonzo
It was a great way to build his library and we got books for all ages and it’s neat to see everyone’s messages when we read them ❤️
Well that first story took a crazy turn.
Never apologize for your cats, they bring a little something that is adorable. 🥰
Your cats are adorable and must really love you. It sounds like they missed you and you probably missed them a little too, hope your parents are doing good
I break out in hives when I am stressed for prolonged periods of time. It's horrendous
Was it osborn just curious
NO WAY. nu-uh. A split bill to me has ALWAYS been "pay for what you order, split things you split"
That baby book story... OMG!
To add insult to injury, media mail ships books for a FRACTION of the cost of regular mail. Big YIKES!!!
I know a couple people who have stress-induced hives. I totally believe the stress-induced anaphylaxis.
Me and my friends did a no card baby shower just books that we signed. I still do this.
OMG those ranks!!!! I'm a proud peasant!!!!
I used to see them frequently in thrift stores, and was always impressed by the books. I didn't know until today that they're an mlm, lol.
And now they are Paper Pie or some such name
Stress can do weird things to one's body. When I am really stressed, my body temperature raises dramatically. I get a very high fever (around 40-41 degrees Celcius) which lasts for a day or two and then is magically gone. I have this reaction since I remember and for years doctors couldn't really figure out what was happening with my body but now I know I suffer from a psychogenic fever - there is an interesting article in "Temperature" explaing it by Takakazu Oka, entitled "Psychogenic fever: how psychological stress affects body temperatue in clinical population".
In grade school I suffered from the same ailment. How wild that this is now recognized.
As someone who just left an abusive relationship....sounds JUST like an abusive relationship
Zeke reminds me of my Jack, he gets so clingy when I’ve been gone for any length of time. Cats are such beautiful babies 🐈🐈
My uncle always bought me books and I was so happy I could buy one of
my favorite books for my nephew!
when i was a young kid, my mom had a friend who was involved in every MLM possible at some point. my mom would go to her parties and sometimes buy her stuff. i remember her using mary kay and pampered chef and all sorts of things. i also remember my dad saying something like “why are you buying these things? it’s all a pyramid scheme!” he was ahead of his time apparently. from that point i grew up believing MLMs are scams. my dad tried to get my mom’s friend and her husband out of it… but nope… my mom’s now ex friend is still involved in MLMs to this day.
Can you do a deep dive on Primerica. It’s an MLM that sells insurance but it’s more focused on recruiting.
You hit it nail on the head with the Senegence thing. A good friend of mine experienced that exactly and she was like NOPE girl byyeeee
I feel so sad for that college girl. I'm so sorry. You deserve real friends.
I've gone through the splitting the bill too and I have to speak up. I'm on a budget.
Hoping your life is great. ❤️
Wow, that last one.... chef's 💋
At my baby shower I asked everyone to buy a book instead of a card. I had them write a message to my baby. 5 years later and still loving them!
@@Kai-here I believe it’s a Russian company. 🤔
