    Not a gift idea, but comes handy: When you replace a toothbrush, keep the old one. It will scrub your drivetrain better than many bike-specific products. They tend to have longer and softer bristles, and it's just not as good.

    Really nice list, there's something in there for everyone.
    The backpack looks intriguing, but I personally prefer having one with a back protector. Met too many people who broke their backs biking, snowboarding etc. Gives me that little bit of security and peace of mind when riding.

    Thanks for another informative video! Glad you're suggesting things you use and not plugging stuff you're just getting for free. You're authenticity is what makes your videos so compelling. Glad you're not selling out, which I assume is a huge temptation given your position. Keep up the good work and keep chasing your dream- it's inspiring! Also, when you were talking about lubes, I was waiting for "that's what she said." Way to pull in LOTR and keep it classy!😂

    Hi Brian. I absolutely love your channel. in fact I needed a Christmas list and I just sent a link to this video to my mom.
    I am 16 years old and im currently looking for a new bike. I want enduro geometry. I've been looking for months and haven't saw any good deals. I've been looking at all biking websites all of the bicycle stores in my area and been watching Craigslist. still nothing. any ideas? Or know of anyone selling their bikes?

    • @bkxc
      @bkxc  7 років тому +8

      Hey Derek, that's awesome I could help you out! Have you checked out the Pinkbike.com classifieds? I have seen some REALLY nice used bikes there. Just a matter of what's available in your area.

    • @derekgross2428

      I live in Indiana and there at not many people that mountain bike in my area I'd have to travel about 3 hours away before the first bike shows up on the radar. but yes I have checked. do you have any other ideas? And also I think that it's amazing that you reply to just about every comment.

    I find pump with integrated high volume canister (e.g. Bontrager Flash Charger) much more practical solution that standalone canister. Also - much better than a hand pump is Lezyne Mnii Floor pump.

      Hey dude! I have a video called "how to fly with your mountain bike" that covers some of that. But so far I've been paying out the ass whenever I fly with it. I recently realized that MAYBE if I can get the weight down and not pack the bag with my stuff that it may be cheaper. So the next time I fly with my bike I'm just putting the bike in and trying to save as much weight as possible.

    Hi Brian, did you ever tested the Topeak mini 20 pro chain tool on any 12 or 11 speed chains so far? There is a comment and review on amazon saying it is in fact not compatible with 11 or 12 speed chains.

    • @bkxc
      @bkxc  7 років тому

      I have not personally had to use it yet, but I just checked out the Topeak page and it looks like it's good to go: www.topeak.com/global/en/products/mini-tools/340-mini-20-pro

    • @MateuszPlewicki
      @MateuszPlewicki 7 років тому

      Thanks. Yeah, I saw this as well. This reviewer claimed that after talking with Topeak they admitted that their website is incorrect incorrect. That's why I was asking if you used it.
      here is a review
      www.amazon.com/review/R3OMO1S1WQM1HM/ref=cm_cr_dp_title?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B003FXQD6E&channel=detail-glance&nodeID=3375251&store=sporting-goods
      and here is an answer as well
      www.amazon.com/forum/-/TxD29UOMO4PFUT/ref=ask_dp_dpmw_al_hza?asin=B003FXQD6E
      I did wrote them an email asking this question, but so far got no response.
      It looks like a great tool, just want to know if it will work with my chain.
      I let you know if I get a response out of Topeak.

    Yo BKXC, I'm interested in the trip. I'm not a newbie, but I've been out of the loop for a while and just got back into riding about a month ago. What level rider would you recommend for this guided trip? BTW, great suggestions for stocking stuffers. Gonna share this vid with my girl!

      You should hit San Juan/Blue jay, super fun and awesome, also Enduro off the 215 is super fun. They got some jumps that Alex would love to hit. You can go off to the side if you don't want to jump them as well. Super awesome, I went there 2 days ago and met the guys that are building and they are making some bike park shit man! It is AWESOME! I'm gonna go and hit it sometime this week and post it on my channel. I also have the enduro trail on my channel if you'd like to check it out. I'm going to post the Revolution trail(Part of Enduro) today. Probably next weekend I will go to San Juan and post a 2 part series if anyone is interested.

    Great video, really liked the way you organised the video. the one thing i would say If I were you give you some constructive criticism though is that I'm assuming the video is aimed at non mountain bikers looking at getting there mountain biker friend/ family member a gift. Some of the technical information such as "it's really good at cleaning jockey wheels" would be information the non cyclist gift buyer would be unable to understand. Other than that I loved the video! keep up the good work!

    • @bkxc
      @bkxc  7 років тому

      Good points for sure! It's funny because I think more MTBers will just watch the video and THEN ask for stuff vs. their partner watching the video and getting ideas. But hopefully all of the above!

      @fuddle128260394 7 років тому

      BKXC actually you're right there, I didn't think about the main way the video would actually be used. Seeing as that was the only niggle I had with the video I guess I can't actually find any fault with it. Great video!

    • @tobycasey4784

      make sure clean it really well because New Zealand customs are very sensitive about people bring in bike. I went to Australia last year with my bike and clean it more thoroughly than would normally and when I went back though New Zealand customs on my way back home and they found a bit of dirt about the size of a thumbnail and they keep me in the airport for an hour so they could look over the bike so just be careful mate. :)

    Can I wash my bike with car shampoo??

    • @DavidBrownFan
      @DavidBrownFan 7 років тому +1

      I would'nt recommend it. Bike wash is designed so it is not very harsh on your brake pads and bearings however car shampoo is not deigned to be as gentle and can wreck your pads

    • @bkxc
