    Thanks the refresher course.. I would like to add when you are formatting the disk if you add the word quick it will speed up the formatting by 10 minutes... DISKPART> format fs=ntfs quick.

    • @gtguy181
      @gtguy181 7 років тому

      While this is true, one may want to do a full format if they are not sure on the condition of the disk. Full format will locate and correct bad sectors which may prohibit the disk from operating efficiently.

    Thanks. Worked for me. I am on windows 8.1. Copying windows 7 (both 32&64 bit) from DVD to flash drive. (Just have patience during formatting and don't cancel while its formatting because you will end up having to format drive this way anyway if you want to use this method.)

    Update on my last comment, it was actually really easy to convert it.Thanks to UA-cam for pretty much being able to figure out how to do anything haha 😂 I could be a brain surgeon if I really wanted to hahahaha 😂 yeah right I wish, but when it comes to text stuff it makes things extremely easy. huge props to this guy for taking his time to show us how to do stuff like this. Appreciate you so much ❤️ brother. I have a brand new windows disk it's Windows 10 pro 64-bit. And CDs always get scratched and screwed up. so by doing this I am now able to make a backup and do my installs from USB which is also much faster. Thanks again bro I appreciate you taking your time to make this video for all of us!!!! You fucking rock!!!

    As far as i know, all full windows install cd's have the bootsect.exe on them. Are you using a recovery cd instead of a regualar full windows install? Also if you still can't get it, you can obtain a copy of the bootsect.exe program from an online source such as microsoft or another place

    I had to change your script as I was trying to copy Microsoft Office to a thumb drive, when I got to the boot bit this did not work.. so I opened cmd in admin did d:\ copy *.* f:\ then I exited and then copied the folders on the CD to the thumb drive and crossed my fingers.. I now have what can only be described as a cracked Microsoft Office 2016 as it as yet has not asked for a key..
    So I thank you kind Sir for setting me in the right direction..
