Just bought a 2023 Z400. Traded a 2000 Triumph Thunderbird 900 Sport. I loved the looks of the Triumph but frankly, at 78 years old the Trumpet was way too heavy for me. Slow speed riding was a real chore and stop and go traffic was always stressful. I have only put about 20 miles on the Kawasaki so far but its a great little bike. Fast enough to get through traffic and very very very stable and rideable. For the record I have been riding motorcycles since 1960 so this is not a beginner bike for me. So far so good.
I’m happy for you, I couldn’t agree more with the power and weight ratio of the bike you have all you really need. I have been itching to get another 400 and still considering the z400 such a fun bike, I would love to put bags on it and ready it for some commuting. Congrats on the new bike and thanks for watching 🍻

No a noob question man its something you learn as you go. You have get get good at the timeline, if you dont do it perfect its not great for the transmission. For down shift i dont recommend doing as much as this one is a little harder to do. You have to quickly apply throttle downshift roll off slightly and roll back on the throttle. That one takes much more practice and as the upshift if down wrong its bad for your transmission. Hope this helps

Is this a automatic motorcycle? I’ve been looking at a lot of motorcycle videos and pages lately been thinking of buying one and this seems to be the right fit for me since I’ve never driven one
It’s not automatic, but easy to ride for a first motorcycle. If you have never rode a bike before you should consider the MSF course, they teach you how to ride on small bikes
Having a new Z400, there has never been a small capacity bike like the two stroke 1985 Yamaha RD350 with the first YPVS I had back then. Dropping a Honda V4 400 or a Honda 900F at a traffic light and your only fear is not seeing the other guys taillight, but keeping the front wheel down even in 2nd gear on a 350 was an era I think only Elon Musk can maybe recreate again. Maybe a Teslasaki Plaid?
For sure, the bikes back in the day were so much more fun. I keep hoping for an inline 4 400. I was hoping Yamaha or kawi would have done that this year. Maybe next year 🤷🏻♂️

Thanks, much had a blast riding it… cheers!!!
Woah man, I heard you say a curse word. Can you please not do that… 😂🤣😂🤣
😂 it slipped!!!
How do you breathe never not talking ?
I don’t smoke camels anymore lol, jk edit out white space and breathing
pls guys is it better to move from 125cc to 400? Because I still think that 400 is slow
I would say it be safe to hop up to the 650 twins since you technically already know how to ride
@@ScoutsOut thx I think 650 is a good idea too
What is that girl riding? Also, would you recommend this bike for a beginner over ninja 400?
She was on a ninja 400, Id say they are both great beginner bikes. Which ever one looks better to you would be best
Love my 2020 z400...
yea bro such a great bike
@@ScoutsOut rode dirt for years, bought the z400 new Oct 2020, at 62 years old its all the bike I need... great review by the way
@@RedRynoTT ohh cool, thanks I really appreciate it.
Maybe next year 🤷🏻♂️
Great review! Thumbs up.
Thanks bro 🍻
I want to get A2 license, what starter bike should I get?
It sure how it work out n Europe bro, did you already start on a 125 or can you start on a 400?
@@ScoutsOut I start on a 400
Ok, I think the ninja 400 or z400 are the best starting bikes that will be fun down the road too not just to learn on
@@ScoutsOut ty bro!❤️
Nice are you in Santa Maria ?
No, I’m up in Paso, but I grew up in AG/SM
Lol, I’m always ready to “attack”, even when I’m just commuting to work.
Haha right lol hooah!!!
how tall are you?
5’10”
Cool bike, man.
Loads of fun for a smaller cc bike!!
Cant decide between ninja 400 is z400
Yea man hard decision, they are both basically the same bike you can’t go wrong with either of them. Which one do you think looks better?
Hopefully, most riders of this biker wouldn't just be "grabbing" the front brake .......unless, of course, they didn't know what they were doing......
Yea hopefully not, but it is a beginner bike
It always worries me when a bike like the Z400 is described as a "...beginners.." bike. I wouldn't like to be on the same road at the same time as that "beginner" !
Low fps and weird transitions are very hard to watch..
Agreed I’m workin on it
Those clocks are grim :(
Yea definitely dated
Holy muffler batman
Haha right that things gigantic and when you look inside it’s just a tiny little tube lol
He likes the word "little"! He disrespects, and dams the bike every 10sec. or so with it!
apparently that was my crutch word in this video, sorry if it ruined the experience for ya
Motorcycles for decades DID NOT have inverted forks! So for you to whine about that shows us your insignificant complaints.
They sure have, thanks for the criticism. Cheers!!
