Michele--On your particular tub, the Covermate lifter would be installed on the equipment bay door. The lifter would need to be disconnected from the bracket in order to access the equipment bay. Normally one of our techs would be the only one to do this on a visit. Everything you normally do with your tub can be done without removing the door.

Our old hot springs tub had a hinge which imo was a way better and more practical design.
Is it possible to open the other sides too? I think I have a leak....

Most of the panels have been removable on Hot Spring Spas for years.
We just got a Hot Springs tub like this with a covermate cover lifter included. Would that have to be taken off to access the panel?
