Interesting. I have a Hot Spring and the pre-delivery instructions from the manufacturer specifically state that the hot tub must not be shimmed in any way. I made sure the pad I created was perfectly level so that I didn't need to use shims and possibly void the warranty.

Thermal Spa has the same cover and lift with the preset screws. Installed in 2021

This is one of the only videos I could find to see how the electrical actually goes into the tub (through the mesh screen that is hidden by the door). Thank you!! Have been trying to sort out how this would work as we just ran conduit under a new patio we had laid for our Hot Spring Flair tub that is coming in a few months. Excellent video!

The flair will have a cutout on the wood footplate that the conduit is meant to come up through, slightly different to what you see here. You may have to botch out the door to allow for it to sit flush against the tub, otherwise you will run into rodent invasions through the gap caused by the conduit holding the door away from the framing of the tub.

Did you end up running the electrical in through the bottom? We are having ours delivered in May, and had hoped to do that but I don't think its possible now.

@@sturgeda73 yes we did, we managed to run some electrical conduit right before the paver company laid down the stones. It came out super clean and the cover on the hot tub and the steps leading to the tub completely cover the pipe coming up from the ground. We had to just do our best estimate for placement of the conduit and then butt the tub up against it when they delivered.

I would have moved the spa out towards the grass more but still on the concrete That way you have a walkway and access to that side for repairs. And there will be repairs.

Tub and Frame is wood free to allow no chance for rot over time but wood shims are used for leveling it up on the concrete. Hopefully it was PT.

So you dont put a shim the whole way from high point ripped to 0? You just stick a board under 1 end? What supports the middle?

this tub measures 91 inches.....then you add 15 inches for top when open and folded over and resting on side of tub....making a need for 106 inches. When the top swings open and away from tub would it need yet more clearance (more than 106 inches) before it comes to rest at 106 inches ?

Hey Mike, you're correct. You would need more than 15 inches for the cover cradle to work properly. We always give the cover 26 inches for room.

I don't think it would pass inspection being within reach of that wall lamp.

You want to leave your spa running unless you are having an issue that requires maintenance. It will maintain temperature while you are not using it.

@@AmericanPoolandSpaKY That costs money. If you are gone for six months I would empty it and turn it off at the wall also.

$400 for setup and have to get my own Electrician. It may look good on video but their is a lot of hidden fees.
