I feel like I am learning so much from Nick... What would you like to learn next? Also, you can grab a hoodie here: tpshstore.com/ or just the face mask here: tpshstore.com/facemask
I am glad you are finding them helpful. I only had goalie training a few times growing up and in these few session with Nick, I am already seeing massive improvements. I can't wait for my season to start again to implement what I am learning.
He is a nice guy for sure! and he is really good at the technical aspect of the game. He sees the small details that make the biggest difference and I love that he doesn't let me move on if I am not doing something right. But once I get it, we practice it and then move forward which is awesome.
These are such good videos!! I love them. I would like to see a video on positioning. Where to stand in the net kind of one. I am trying to refine where I need to stand to cover most of the net that i can. Keep up the great vidoes and enjoy your vacation!!!
I am glad you are liking them. I will ask Nick to talk a bit about that in more detail. I a lot of it comes down to your size and how fast/confident you are on your footwork. The faster you can move laterally the more depth I would say you can take. But if you are too far out and are to slow to move over if there is a pass, then you would need to play a bit deeper in your net. I like to play big, but I am also 6'0 and know that most times I can get over if there is a pass. But I will ask Nick as I am sure he has a more scientific approach to answering this question.
Love your footy! Gets me pumped to Wanna play!!! One thing i feel alot of coaches are forgetting is that in a game there is almost No chanse to know Where the puck Will end up if you dont know how to read the play. If you are able to read the play you will more likely be able to do the save. Its a bit missleading when we all know that our reaction time is not how we make the saves. Would love to see some content on reading the play and also reading the shoots
Happy Anniversary man. 7 years is a big one. Love this video. Super informative and helpful. Would love to see a video on how to play RVH and how to transition from post to post in RVH, especially for wraparouds. Enjoy the vacay.
Just saw this, awesome to see you getting these technical sessions Sam! I would love to see some drills on rebound control while dealing with screens. I would be interested to see what Nick would say about controlling the puck or redirecting it while there is someone in front who could block, tip, or knock it in. Also, hope you two had a great anniversary!
Hey Nicholas, that is a great question. I can ask him in a future session. I do wonder what would be best. I have a feeling that if you are being screened, the first step is getting in front of the shot especially if you can't see it and the second is then reading the rebound so you can track it and get in front of it so they don't score on it.
Great coach, love these videos. I know you’re tired but you really need to learn how to load up your trailing leg for your butterfly pushes. You’re getting a lot better at tracking the puck with your chin and hands, just need to work on getting that first powerful push and you’ll save yourself from having to make big desperation saves! Good work 👍🏻
I feel like the puck dropping thing at the end is really good not just for watching the play but increasing reaction time ngl Edit: technically its decreasing but it's one of those things where its confusing like unthawing is to freeze
I would love to go to your camp. It looks really nice I'm on a really good double aa team. U11. I'm guessing you know what that is I watch lots of your videos thank you. And also were are you from.
I’d really like to have a hoodie, they look really comfortable.. But I’m from Quebec, Canada... with the exchange rate and shipping it’s expensive... maybe next time... I really like your videos, I play dekhockey as a goalie and love to see your training and trying to apply the tips to my games ! :)
Hey Yvonne, I totally understand. Originally I was going to get cheaper hoodies made but I didn't want to sell a hoodie where the logo would eventually wash off because it was printed on. That is why I wanted everything to be stitched which makes it more expensive but at the end of the day you will have a hoodie that will last forever rather than a few years.
I can but it might be similar to my last video. It's all about having your hands out in front at a 45 degree angle and attaching your chin so you track the puck properly as it hits your blocker or goes into the pocket of your glove.
Hey, so I know I’m late but. I’m going to be a goalie next year and I’m 11 years old. I have always watched goalies and stuff so I know a bit but I need help with reacting to it faster
Looks like you want to go so fast on the post that you forget to get a great push to start. If my blade are not sharp enough i’ll always miss the first push, just like you did.

Thanks for these! As a goalie who never has the opportunity to play outside of games these are really helpful and informative.

I went to school with Nick. He's a very nice guy! And seems to be a very good, technical goalie coach. Keep up the great work both of you! :)

Great stuff as always:
1) Loose puck just outside the crease
2) angles
3) breakaways
The grind to find box lacrosse goalie content on rebound control is brutal
Probably one of my favorite videos you've ever made so far. Dude seems like an awesome goalie coach. I am looking forward to more videos like these!
He is a solid coach and is drastically making a difference in my game.
Great video!
I play pickup and in net
We see alot of 2 on one
3 on 1 situations. This video is fantastic. Your videos PUMP me up to go play net!

@@ThePuckStopsHere Thanks for the reply! I am hoping some goalie school starts up here in my province soon.
Got my order it 🤘🏼 can’t wait ! Keep up the good work on the videos bud !
Nice! I will ship it out today! Can't wait for you to get it :)
Love this content Sammy keep it up!
Thank you! I will be making a lot more of these especially while I have no games to play.

Thank you and I am glad you found this video helpful. I will be working on RVH with Nick soon as that is something I need to improve as well.
@@ThePuckStopsHere Well that is something I need a lot of work on too!

Really great video Sammy! Loved hearing what Nick was teaching.
Me too, it has been a game changer for me!

Hey Congrats Sam on the anniversary!
Thank you!
Highly recommend the hoodies! They are legit awesome and wearing all the time now that the weather is turning to cold!
Thanks John! And yes me too! I love when it gets cold now :)
Hi Sam I want you make video of depth angle how far in net play or where in net should be for breakway
That's a great idea for a video, perhaps Nick will have a drill for that so we can add it to one of our sessions. I will ask!
Can you do some thing on puckhandling
That is a great ideas especially because I am not good at it!
I feel like the puck dropping thing at the end is really good not just for watching the play but increasing reaction time ngl

Cool video we have a 13 year old inline hockey goalie these tricks will be useful for her

Where did you get that hoodie!!
I really want to get better with my blocker. I can catch alright but its been a struggle learning how to use a blocker
Have you heard of the Blocker Sleeve? Here is a review I did on it a while ago. ua-cam.com/video/tbOSqg6tapc/v-deo.html
holy that coach is so good
Yes he is a great coach!
Can ask him to help with top corn her blocker shots
Corner*

Yeah, the correction Nick made helped me a lot. No need to rush if the puck is in the corner and no one is around.
I am throwing a tennis ball against the wall and catching it with my glove for the off season
Butterfly pushes! I’m terrible
Great question. I will ask him about those :)
hi
Hi!
I like to know how you gonna get off that mountain you two are on ?????
I aspire to be a goalie that can move like that with no pads
