The only thing you need to prevent and reverse cognitive decline is to consume 2x as much magnesium as calcium--not 10x as much calcium as magnesium like everyone else. I had severe dementia in my 30s. It literally all went away in a few years of multiform magnesium supplementation
Dr Bredesen’s book “The End of Alzheimer’s “ published in 2017 is a MUST read. I think he is the world expert on Alzheimer’s and can’t recommend his book enough.

Alzheimer's has been dubbed as " Type 3 Diabetes " and a Low-Carbohydrate / Ketogenic diet along with completely cutting out highly inflammatory Seed Oils can be beneficial as any areas of the brain which may have become Insulin Resistant can run preferentially on Ketones over glucose and the liver will continue to make whatever glucose we need through gluconeogenesis. Ketone production can also be boosted by taking coconut based " MCT-8 Oil " Medium Chain Triglycerides convert easily in the liver to Ketones. Exogenous Ketones can also be used for a fast start.

I wonder if a small light that one could hold inside the mouth, aimed at the roof of the mouth, etc., the light would go right up through the soft tissues and into the brain ....

I'm going to have to look deeper into what is available on the market. Mr Chazot says here that the optimal wavelength is 1068-1072, whereas most of what is for sale online seems to be 650ish red and 850ish NIR, which I'm guessing would be less than optimal(?) I want to invest in the best equipment available, and not waste money on things that may not work, or at least not work well.
I have a friend at a nursing home who I visit and bring him to sit outside in the sun. He loves feeling the warmth. The staff are too busy to bring residents out for the most part so most stay in their beds under artificial light.
So wait why isn’t the Alzheimer’s Association funding a study using this tech??? Couldn’t cost too much. Give one of those helmets to 100 different Alzheimer wards of nursing homes and use it on half the patients for 8-12 weeks, or heck 4-6 months, and see what happens. The cynic in me worries that big pharma is funding the Alzheimer’s association and would threaten to drop funding if they study non pharma modalities to fight the disease. You can’t patent a wavelength of light. If this guy giving the lecture were more business minded he’d start selling the helmets. Name your price, really.
I have bought a red light therapy hat for my wife who has early onset dementia. It utilizes red light between 660nm and 850nm intensity it can be adjusted across 5 levels (LO-L4) does anyone have any experience with this and what the optimal setting and duration time is?
P.S. Pharmaceutical grade Methylene Blue ( typically used to reverse Cyanide Poisoning ) can cross the blood-brain barrier and has a very similar effect to NIR.
I don't know how this compares, but I have an infrared sauna that has both near and far infrared. It's a low EMF Clearlight Jacuzzi infrared sauna. I'm going to try bending over toward the far infrared panel so the light shines directly on the top of my head. I normally feel better after using the sauna. Dale Bredesen "The End of Alzheimer's" recommends sauna use to detoxify your body. That's why I bought it.
This is interesting. There is also anecdotal and hopefully research, in diet reducing inflammation, eg the ketogenic diet , helping in Alzheimers. Also, this is a bit strange sounding, but from an evolutionary biological mechanism , could loss of hair as we age have had a beneficial effect? More light reaching the ageing brain.
Does this have to be in that wavelength to be effective? I have a friend with early diagnosed dementia and I've found a company selling a near IR helmet that operates at 660, 850, and 940 nm.
@@snowyowl6892 I just searched on NIR helmets and NIR head therapy. There are a few that come up. Most are very expensive. I am going to build the cossack hat for NIR. I've already purchased the materials to build it. Search UA-cam for "Hat V4".

I should ask first - With no side effects with usual treatments, are there problems with prolonged exposure? But if all is good, have you thought of adding a 1/4 dose of lights in combination to VR viewers for more prolonged exposure. I hope this is it Dude. Your the Dude, Dude
Yes, the problem is that any wavelength of energy such as light or sound is interpreted by your nervous system as instructions. Constantly subjecting someone to one specific wavelength of light will cause dysautonomia (nervous system dysfunction where the nervous gives instructions to enter the wrong state at the wrong time) in the longterm if it is not balanced with other wavelengths.
I bought the Beurer infrared device which has a halogen lamp, and that one emits the full range of IR light from 500-2,500 nanometers. That one is a bit better, I think.
Don't know but fyi, there was a published paper 5-10 yrs ago detailing a small study of peope with Parkinson's. The goal of the study was to demonstrate whether the regular use of light boxes that have been well established as helping people with seasonal affective disorder (SAD) would similarly help alleviate depression commonly seen as part of Parkinson's. Yes, it did. Gratifying, though expected. The fascinating thing they noticed is that so many patients were excitedly reporting that their motor (movement) function had improved with the light box therapy too! It also helps with getting a restful sleep, often a problem for people living with Parkinson's (and that's potentially due to restless legs inaddition to the depression and I imagine the inability to trun in bed, ie shift one's position around in bed/shift one's weight). Sorry can't recall the journal that published the study. I think it was only a couple dozen patients but worth a try. Same light wavelengths as typically used in treatment of SAD. (NOT infrared.) Extremely important that people not look directly into the light box - damaging to eyes potentially. And one needs to gradually increase duration of light exposure but less than an hour a day at peak or can cause other side effects.
Forgot to mention, and if a person CAN walk/exercise more, then that could logically help protect against cognitive deficits of Alzheimer's/potentially help roll them back some. Would get ahold of Dr. John Ratey's book Spark for an explanation as to how exercise helps cognition. It stimulates production of BDNF, brain-derived neurotrophic factor if I remember right. Ratey called it "Miracle Grow of the brain". And/or read neurologist's Dale Bredesen MD's book the End of Alzheimer's or the more recent followup The First Survivors of Alzheimer's or watch some of his interviews here on You Tube. Some of what applies to the brain in Alz's will also apply to the brain in Parkinson's.

The only thing you need to prevent and reverse cognitive decline is to consume 2x as much magnesium as calcium--not 10x as much calcium as magnesium like everyone else. I had severe dementia in my 30s. It literally all went away in a few years of multiform magnesium supplementation

Agreed. Clearly nutrition & metabolic health are key but light energy is also an important part of our chemistry. Sun deprivation hurts us more than we know.

Age and dementia related charities like Age UK should be made aware of this and they could petition the NHS to look into it.People would buy them privately if sold at sensible prices

Apparently they cost £7250 per helmet at the moment so don't expect to see them offered by the NHS any time soon.

Are there any consumer light products that put out that wavelength? Would be nice to use it before it’s official.
It's insulin resistance. They know it is. They just don't want you to know it.
Sure, but light effects our chemistry too.
yes!!!
Look deeper. Seeds and their oils were used in animal feed until farmers found their livestock suffered. Unfortunately, hapless humans have health insurance!
What if you do a kick starter where people put in money to get one of your helmets? I don't know how much they will cost, but there are people out there who could come up with the cash.
Kicksterter..Wonderful idea...because as I can gather no pharmaceutical intervention needed...results obvious in matter of weeks....This van be a miracle....my sister just died a most horrible death 4 weeks ago with alzheimers even being pumped with medication for years.....
Find someone who is handy with building electronics. You should be able to buy LEDs that have the specific wavelength, and have the electronics person build a light board.

$500K? Yes - we can send 14B overseas but can't fund this trial outright in UK. Hmmmm. We can waste billions and trillions but he is scraping up his trial funding.
Exactly. Look at the money we waste on the army yet that same money could really help true heros like this man.
It's not a funding problem - it's a treatment problem. Sunlight is free and infra-red cheap. Illnesses are created for big pharma to produce management drugs. Look at cancer, diabetes, obesity and heart disease. The IMMENSE revenues these illnesses generate for drug companies ensure that gold standard double blind placebo controlled trials for alternative treatments will primarily have to be organised privately before being professionally criticised, publically derided and quietly buried.
I wonder if a small light that one could hold inside the mouth, aimed at the roof of the mouth, etc., the light would go right up through the soft tissues and into the brain ....

The H2O hole for the transmission of light is 1086 nm. Every engineer working with fibre optics will tell you that since its the frequency used for best transmission. These laser diodes at this frequency are cheap as anything, very common. In the brief Paul said they had to be specially made and are expensive. These things are easy to tune if you want a slightly different frequency. Must be more to it and he's not saying?
LEDs for Fibre Optics, unicast/laser are different from LEDs for broadcast

Hi Jennifer, what is your issue? Health challenge?

Good thing you came to your senses that god is not real, lmao.
Even if this is just a little bit true it's amazing. It seems too good to be true. I salute Dr. Paul Chazot & colleagues. Good to know Millie Sanderson is also a belly dancer, apparently dancing is highly effective against cognitive decline.
I'm going to have to look deeper into what is available on the market. Mr Chazot says here that the optimal wavelength is 1068-1072, whereas most of what is for sale online seems to be 650ish red and 850ish NIR, which I'm guessing would be less than optimal(?)
I want to invest in the best equipment available, and not waste money on things that may not work, or at least not work well.
It sounds very interesting but it would help the understanding if you kept the camera on the slide show. We need to look T the slides when listening 🙂

I have a friend at a nursing home who I visit and bring him to sit outside in the sun. He loves feeling the warmth. The staff are too busy to bring residents out for the most part so most stay in their beds under artificial light.
Very good talk
No money in it.
There are companies sellIng helmets. Also it’s hard to have a red light placebo. Ppl can see if it’s a red light or not

I normally feel better after using the sauna. Dale Bredesen "The End of Alzheimer's" recommends sauna use to detoxify your body. That's why I bought it.

Can someone with Parkinson disease and decline cognitive disease use this light and how much does it cost?.
Good question..both my Grandfather and mother had this combo
