I really like that Cameron decided to slightly alter how Jerome laughing sounds. He said at some point he changed his voice to make it seem like his vocal cords were a bit messed up now due to Galavan stabbing him in the throat. I love that he paid that attention to his character. Bless him love his preformance.
I totally agree, the fact that he paid that much attention to detail and really fleshed the character out to that degree easily made him my fave joker. He put a lot of effort and attention into Jerome and it shows :)
@@KaiValeska He is also by far, the only Live-Action Joker who doesn't really have a "humanizing" motivation. Jack Nicholson's Joker wanted power, money and sex - like normal gangsters. Heath Ledger's Joker wanted people to see things his way. He didn't want to be alone anymore and was tired of people acting good. Phoenix's Joker only wanted an audience who accepted him and loved him. He just wanted to be honestly happy. Jeremiah wanted Bruce to love him. He wanted his cruch to notice him. Jerome? Nah, he just did whatever he wanted for laughs. No matter how fucked up that thing would be.
@@WhyTho525 exactly, that’s why I feel like his is the best joker! He had a messed up childhood and was essentially abused because of false accusations which shaped him into the person he ends up being, but his motivations were never to gain or make people understand, it was just pure chaos, which is why he was perfect!
@@KaiValeska Cameron Monaghan is kinda scary when he laughs 😳 & He's one of my all time favorite actors 😎 & I think that Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett should cast him as one of the main characters in Scream 6 😁 That would be so cool if they casted him in Scream 6 😋 He's got that psycho killer vibe

I somehow missed this, but jerome seemingly became more and more unhinged as time went by. He was never as composed as Jeremiah, but you can see some moments where he did have a cold stare and seemed more psychopathic than insane. I guess his first death must have really messed up his brain. Kinda like what happened with Jeremiah after he fell into the chemical vat and became braindead for a time.
Finally, someone who agrees! Jerome had nailed everything. However, I agree with some of Jeremiah's fans that Jerome lacked a personal connection with Bruce. However, they easily could've written like after 3x14, Jerome begins to see Bruce in a different light and wants to drive him mad instead of killing him.
@@WhyTho525 I definitely agree, Jerome was the better joker by far and the personal connection could have easily been established had they chosen to go that way. I find it fascinating how Cameron was able to portray the two so differently to the point where some Jerome fans can’t stand Jeremiah and vice versa, that to me shows just how amazing of a job that he did in both roles. Jerome just had more of a journey I feel and you really got to see and understand the character, plus his presence was just more enjoyable, at least for me haha :)
@@KaiValeska In-freaking-deed! Imagine if season 4 and season 5 revolved around Jerome suddenly having a change of heart towards Bruce after the latter refuses to kill him in 3x14 and saving him from Zach in 4x16. Perhaps Jerome could see Bruce as a potential best friend, as he can't even fathom why the boy he tried to kill before would even try to save him, let alone not kill him. Perhaps in some twisted way, he would think that Bruce is looking up to him as some sort of brother-like figure and Jerome would try to make Bruce see things his way. Imagine if in this hypotheical Ace Chemicals episode, Jerome is hanging from a pole (almost like in 4x18 before he died) and Bruce is reaching out to him. Bruce would confess that he understands why Jerome is the way he is (he was literally the only character in the show that acknowledged and realized that Jerome was a victim of abuse in 4x16) and he is willing to help him. Jerome would ACTUALLY think of reforming and he reaches out too, but he would look down to the acid beneath him and hears his father's final words of Jerome becoming the Curse Upon Gotham and that he will leave behind a legacy that will haunt the city forever. Jerome would think that it's far too late to start again, and tragically he would chose his destructive legacy over the possibility of a better life promised by Bruce. He pulls back his hand and laughs, to which Bruce looks dumbfounded. Then this dialogue plays out: Jerome: "Good ol' Brucie! Always playing by the rules, eh?! That's why I'll outlive you, that's why I'm loved. 'Cuz I don't give a damn about the rules." Bruce: "That acid looks dangerous... Are you sure that you'll outlive me?" Jerome: "Oh, I'm sure. You see, Bruce... We're more than just two men. We are IDEAS... Two conflicting philosophies... You will the shining beacon of hope for this cesspool of a city. But I will continue to live on in the shadows... within Gotham's discontent. We'll be seeing each-other soon... Au revoir!" Jerome would let go of the pole and falls into the vat of acid while laughing maniacally like in 4x18, except he falls into the acid, survives and becomes the Joker. After this Bruce is haunted by Jerome's words and decices to leave Gotham to finally complete his training if he wants to be the hero Gotham needs. Now, Jerome's words is an exact foreshadowing of his future conflict between him and Bruce as their final forms (Batman and Joker) and their ideologies and the people who believe in them. Batman: order, justice and hope Joker: chaos, nihillism and terror And yes, the "shining beacon of hope" line is a refrence to the future Bat signal
