God I wish "Gym Tok" was actually "Jim Tok" and it was just a bunch of Jims talking to each other about basic daily life things like "I'm Jim and I like my coffee black with a sprinkle of sugar" and then another Jim stiches that "OH well Mr.Macho, My name is Jim and I'm not afraid of a little bit of creamer every now and then"

LOL for real. Breakups are sad. They can be very devastating and life changing. But grow up. It happens to all of us. And cheating is so common… men cheat on women at equal rates. Again, it sucks but compared to other things that can go wrong in a relationship, it’s very minor. As someone with spinal injuries and chronic pain because I was hit and almost killed by a drunk driver, I would rather go through every single breakup I’ve ever had 100 times in a row than go through that accident again. Now I’m a prisoner in my own body. But yeah, boohoo the breakup of that one 3 month relationship you had your sophomore year of college was so sad.

So I understand how painful they can be. But the way these guys are coping with it seems to be fueling themselves with anger. Thats a trap I fear many people end up falling into. Obsessing over hurt, becoming addicted to something that can be harmful to your body when overdone, vilifying a gender because of what you went through are so so unhelpful. These men could seriously use some psychological help. I once again understand the pain and the path that leads you to be self destructive, but it will continue to hurt forever unless you learn to cope effectively.

a thing about the gym bros is that if you just consume so much toxic media and depression quotes you’re going to feel worse, if you don’t surround yourself with nice people or learn how to be happy by yourself then you’ll never be happy gf or not. Your physical might be good but your spiritual and mental will hold you from your full potential

Exercise can be good for your stress and in fact part of therapy is finding outlets such as exercise, but letting it become an addiciton/take over your life isn't a solution.

    1 month you feel different
2 months you see the difference
3 months your friends and family see the difference
    Could be totally wrong though!

Going to the gym is a good thing. It can be a wonderful part of keeping someone solid physically and mentally BUT this??? This isn't The Way. Even if they're Memeing, this ain't it. The Clout ain't worth it and it's called therapy. It's called Looking Within. Also, these same MFs who make this sort of content are the same ones who make fun of Taylor Swift for writing songs about her exes. Lames.

Yeah a lot of this is depression and trauma, and a lot of people can relate.
Having this deep feeling that you're never enough, putting on an outward happy mask and no one realizing you're hurting because you act happy, not feeling like anyone really sees you.
That has nothing inherently to do with the gym or getting a ripped bod.
    It's depression.
And, yes, exercise can be a part of good mental health, but these guys are falling into the same trap that a lot of women do with losing weight. Believing that once they finally get a perfect body they'll be happy and it'll fix everything.

I think one of the reasons i just dont rlly fw gym bro dudes is because 9/10 times they are SUPER transphobic, the "stealing T from a trans guy" joke is just so overused now, dont get me wrong i think its a funny lighthearted Joke but the comments of that joke will just be super transphobic for no reason, i thought the gym community was supposed to be uplifting of each other and to support each others goals and achievements buts its rlly just whos bigger and stronger and full of people who will tell newbies and overweight ppl who are trying to better themselves that they suck and that they should just quit, its mostly aimed at obese ppl and women, and it sucks because a guy who was overweight who posts what he used to look like will get uplifting comments and yet a women who does rhe same thing will get shit on, especially if the person is still currently overweight but is still pushing themselves, its a toxix community and i hate it, as a trans guy just let me go to the gym in peace thats all i want

SAM! Long comment here we go: bro I have been watching you since I was 13 and went 'omg so that's why I feel like this.' Here I am almost 8 years later, pre-transition, and maybe a month or so away from coming out to my siblings (I don't have a date picked I'm just ready). I just gotta say you just being here is life-changing. I've been essentially gaslit out of listening to my dysphoria and it's been a crazy past few years but just seeing your content and you with your girl recently I just realized there is nobody going to be me if I'm not going to be me. That is just straight up a crazy thing to consider. Though physical too, most of my dysphoria is social (I think because I almost pass in a hoodie or baggy shirt tbh) and it's made life confusing because I think growing up afab and super victim to beauty standards warped tf out of my brain, then trying to come out and being gaslit into not believing I was even trans... DUDE. I'm about to transfer to a new university and move into an apartment, and I've just been realizing how so much of my excitement is over letting my guard down once I'm alone, and it's hit me that I really am trans. And I want to be alone so I can be myself, and probably get in the works to transition medically and on my documents. I have no community for the most part, and the little support we have in these online communities like your channel is absolutely everything. So seriously huge thank you for the impact you've had on my whole life at this point, and thanks any readers for being part of the community too. So much love to allies out there too you guys save lives no joke. One day at a time this sh*t will get better, the world really just doesn't want us existing but it's amazing to just see that sub count and realize that almost at least a hundred thousand people want to see us alive and better yet want to see us happy and successful. Never posted something this long wtf but I got nobody to share this with so thank YOU for reading it
    (he/him btw)
