My method for building a raft with foundations that works in ARK Survival Ascended, works on motorboats too! In fact, it's easier to do! In this short tutorial, I'll show you how to build a fully functional motorboat you can drive, by lowering foundations to the lowest snap point, using low cost structures. It's the perfect trick for all your motorboat base and boat builds.

Make sure you never stay parked in deep water as a leed can destroy your motorboat or raft in basically 1 hit NO matter what’s on it.

I like more the other raft building way when u can extend the foundation using ceiling ,I believe is not possible in ASA
That’s a different trick. Unfortunately, it’s not looking possible on ASA, like you said. Going to spend some time on it again soon, but I doubt it will be easy to do if it works 🫣

Ark has been unplayable for me... I do appreciate the video. I watched it last night and built a nice little house boat, loaded back in later, and my boat was vertical in the water with nothing built, lol. Some structures came back later but not completely 😂. The building worked like a charm
I've got an updated method now to get past a patch they made, which is actually easier slightly! I'm glad this still worked for you though! And yes, rafts are more janky than in the old game somehow. Anytime a raft goes out of render, nothing built on it shows up until you ride and then dismount. I mean, could be handy in PvP? 😅

Does this stop the Leedsichthys destroying you're boat?
They don’t, sadly! Leeds just ignore the foundations and hit you raft through them. They do protect your raft from everything else though, from the side and below.
Would like a way to extend foundations out more than the boat, ceilings don't work. Pillars didn't work. Fence foundation neither.
Me too! I’ve been looking into solving this with little success. Got a few interesting things to happen, so hopefully it’s possible! The foundations are very much made to operate in a set way in ascended!

Doesnt let me place a pillar in the sign

@@toastbloke i managed to do it by eyeballing it, had to move the sign towards the front so the pillar could still place in the center of the boat then i used the sign as a reference to lower the pillar but i had to lower it slightly lower that you did, the only hard part was finding the correct height but it didn’t take long. I appreciate your video, it still helped me.

This isn't new... Are all the creators gonna start re-releasing the videos they made 100 yrs ago when Ark first came out??
I’m pretty sure it is with the new building mechanics. You could get this result easier in ASE, but it doesn’t work the same now. Plus, it also didn’t mess with clipping of structures to allow you to place things inside each other on a raft in official.
my character dont align with motorboat while mounting on it. How can i change it?
Have you put gasoline inside the motorboat to power it? You can't drive the motorboat until you turn it on. Let me know if that helps 😎
@@toastbloke I can drive. It's my camera what don't align with motorboat automaticaly like your's do.
@@BobroBobrodobro Did you have K Mode (Orbital Cam) on? If not, it should work if you aren’t moving your mouse as you dismount. I just click the drive key twice and nothing else. Does that help?
