@@toastbloke ya, i used the motor boat. But if you want all 9 foundations on it. You can't use the same spot in your vid. You have to adjust the pillar on the next square indent of the motoroat and place the pillar half on it.

@rickrollrizal When I was making the motorboat version, it was impossible to fully cover it due to the shape of the model being uneven. Its just a matter of fiddling around to get it covered how you prefer I guess. I spend way too long on that kind of thing 😂

Sometimes the game is so broken, it somehow gets easier, for sure! In the old game I built a huge trap for a yuty and it ran into a rock and got stuck. I just tamed it there. What a waste of time building that was! 😂

Some of the aggro ranges mixed with render/animation distances seem to make some of the creatures in the game act very strange until you're right on them. That's mad you could just shoot a giga with zero response though! No complaints there though!

I was going to mention it was you that egged me on to figure this out and then wasn’t sure I had the right person, ‘cause it’s been ages, so thought I’d add a pinned post if it came up and just say I was notified for now! 😂 I tried what you described for hours and couldn’t replicate it, but it led me to this, so cheers for the shove in the right direction! ❤️

I built it on the bank of one of the channels in the jungle on the Center Map. And kitted the Spino in downward towards the water. Which helped lock it in the Trap. But heck yeah M8 glad you figured it out 🤜🏾🤛🏾

That's a lot of info to pop in a comment! I upgraded to a 4070 and 32gb RAM to be able to run the game while I stream/record. Everything else is from my old build and I can't even remember! 😅

Thank you! They take an awful lot of tweaking, but you start figuring out how each creature works! The problem is, one day, something that's worked 20 times in a row just stops working altogether, so got to be thorough with the testing!

It's all set up to film, and has been for ages, just haven't been in the headspace! Hopefully get it out very soon! Cheers marra!

I play 1440p, set the game to default graphics, then change all numbers for fluid etc. to 0.5 and cross my fingers. Occasionally, I'll tweak view distance if extra frames are needed. Games been looking and performing worse and worse for me with each passing update though, so mine doesn't even look this nice anymore! 🫣

Glad it worked for you! Depending on patches, sometimes it works amazing and others it's a bit of a faff! Must be in a faff state atm! 😂

It should be, it's just a tricky method. Like, you need to get far back, or high up to get the snap to work correctly. Let me know if you have any luck. I've got an in-depth video on the method too!

I’ve had confirmation it still works, but people have had issues before. Sometimes it’s a simple mistake, other times it’s just ARK. All I can say to try and help is that the Rex needs to think it can walk under the top of the trap or it will walk around it. Terrain, as well as placement, can affect how high the trap is perceived across the whole height. Hopefully that helps! Ideally, flat ground is the best place to get it right, but I’ve used it all over the map. Fingers crossed!

The pets emit light for me… well they did when I last played… 😅 The Species Z were broken though, but I hear that’s been patched now. I’ve lost my optimism for ASA so I’ve not looked to see 😂

I'd just build over the top with walls and a ceiling, then it can't get C4'd from above or below. I don't play PvP on ASA though, but if I did, I'd not plan on living on a raft at all with all the exploits! Just use it for a bit of fun!

I switch from using my mouse to look up and down, to using my up and down arrow keys instead! Hopefully that helps!

@ACTTimo It will sound silly, but when traps fail it’s usually that the dino wasn’t fully in the trap, the ground/terrain is janky or ARK was just being ARK. I’ll take another look when I get the chance incase the devs have changed something, just incase! Cheers!

Cap is a pal and inspiration! He has a great little argy trap for ASA! Highly recommend checking it out! I mean, traps using ARK structures will look like all traps, so every trap probs looks like a Cap trap! He made so many game changers for ASE!

@@toastbloke oh yeah without doubt most effect traps will look very similar that's unavoidable. There are so many different traps and each will be situational too so what works in one area may not work in another. Have a great day man. 😎👍

@sg.o7139 I think more so with this version of the game. I miss all the janky snap points! Made things feel less standard! Caps pillar tricks are what got me into building in ARK and this games removed that room for creativity! 😭

@@toastbloke Ark? Janky? 🤣 I agree but I'm also sat on the fence with it. Graphically it looks great but is in dire need of huge optimisation changes. Gameplay is janky again with tames falling through the mesh which should definitely not be happening. I just think a lot more effort could have been made before release but maybe in time they will actually fix some issues that are still present. Like the Longneck reloading bug. I mean come on Wildcard ffs!? Telling us it was completely rebuilt from the ground up is clearly not the case. I've not really delved into the building mechanics yet as I'm treating my solo play through on XBSX as a test which I'm not invested in. I've barely touched my pc version.

Fantastic! Use what works for you! Although... the game only released last year, so if you mean to ASE one, you might struggle in ASA.
