The fact that their grandson took his life bc of daniels actions and intense police questioning is so sad. That poor family has endured so much loss. My heart breaks for them.
Not only the police, a lot of people accused him. We can see how people react and accuse ,without knowing the whole truth, everyday at the comments section for example. Of course if you try to tell them that they will jump on you like hyenas.
The grandson didn't take his own life because of Daniel's actions. that's just stupidity. He took his own life because he was suffering from severe mental illnesses, which he suffered from long before his grandparents were murdered.
When Daniel was on the stand, saying he didn’t want to remember the crime he committed because he couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that as a youth he could have done something so heinous, his testimony rang very hollow. I think he is adept at being deceptive, as many psychopaths are; they tell you what you want to hear. When I heard the daughter say that Daniel had gotten a tattoo of her mother’s mortal wounds that really showed me what kind of person he still is and that is one who is beyond rehabilitation.
It's also very telling that he chose an old couple and ambushed them because for all his threats to that cop literally any cop, high school bully or just average Joe weighing over 200lbs could basically demolish those stick arms in a fistfight.
the stuff they say in court like that is literally shit they prepped with their lawyers. like "here memorize this it will sound good" thats why it sounds hollow. its the same thing politicians do and why their words sound empty as well - it isnt their words and its not heartfelt.
What’s terrifying about this case is the fact that my grandparents quite literally lived next door to them just thinking that if they had left a window open or a door unlocked it could have been them I had even met the victims several times before they were very kind people
I live in the region, & remember when this happened. This man should NEVER be free. He's intelligent enough to play the system yet insane enough to be a a danger to all.
So he tells professionals that he wants to hurt & kill people but yet they deem him not a threat....??? I would love to know how they came to this conclusion?
He was failed abysmally by the school and police. How many times should he have needed to tell them he was in serious trouble, and fixing to take a lot of people with him. I think he should work very hard towards getting a solid education and work history together, and do all the things that the board will want to see in 2037. At least that will give him a shot at a life.
@@momtammy3563 Most where failed by not only families, the system, the police and those that where menat to help them,,,, do you go around advocating for them also, as its a common them, a demon is not just born into this world and guided to be a killer.... 15, 18, 21, 45 etc etc.... the crime is the same, the mindset is the same, and the punishment should remain the same! Just because Ted Bundy was let down by parents and police etc, doesn't mean he should have gotten to "live a life" 🙄 If that is your reasoning then its highly flawed! My Goodness, because he was let down by people? 🤦♀Most where!!!! Hey lets just let them all out, and they can come live with YOU!
Exactly. And had the police come to his school 6 times begging to be taken off the Streets so that this didn’t happen the same system that failed him then is fucking him now.
The thoughts of him being left out on the streets, to walk around free, to have more gory fantasies(because I do believe there is no cure for true evil), and to have access to easily making them into reality again, terrifies me.
That judge said he doesn't think Daniel could be rehabilitated by the age of 25?! 🤯 Someone who's capable of entering the home of an elderly couple (who were not even known to Daniel) and repeatedly stab then over and over again... will NEVER be rehabilitated!! You cant rehabilitate evil!
I'm always curious if people would apply that same logic to people who murder animals daily as their job? What kind of psychological affect do you think it has on those workers? If you want to breed people who have no feelings about murder I'd say that's a pretty good way to do it. Empathy and compassion starts with the most innocent of creatures (animals/ children). If you can kill those for your job then I'd imagine you are capable of anything. I'm just curious why we see someone who tortures a cat as a sick psycho and someone who murders hundreds of animals a day as being totally sane?
@@msjibberjabberhodge Thought provoking. However, I think killing to provide sustenance for yourself or others can be and is different. They aren't preying on vulnerable animals and torturing them. The breeding/farming of animals for slaughter is a bit odd too. Surely it takes an emotional or psychological toll to murder innocent animals every week.
People defending him in the comments need to realize, he said he would blame mental illness on his crimes if caught. Also, psychopathy is not a mental disorder. And they cannot be rehabilitated. Save your sympathy for people who actually deserve it. Like...the victims?
I believe he cannot help what he is. He still has to be kept away from the rest of us. But the idea that you can't try a child below 16 as an adult is crazy. It needs to be considered case by case. A child psychopath cannot be fixed, and can't remain free.
@Wreck and Carey How about a case where a child is abusive of animals, parents, siblings and other children. As the child grows the violence both verbal and physical increases. Drugs both prescribed and illegal are abused. Therapy is refused and minor crimes such as theft and vandalism become prevelant. At what point shouls this person be denied freedom? FYI: the scenario I present is common and mostly ends in murder.
daniel is one of the most disturbed killers I've ever read about... I can barely listen to him talk or look at his pictures..he looks So evil... this isn't some physical problem its spiritual...daniel is on a whole other level of crazy
He's a manipulative psychopath who is able to blend into society seamlessly, which is the scary part.... he should never get out. His description of the crime was the most chilling thing I've heard in a LONG time and for a jaded, desensitized person like me, that says a LOT.
Daniel Marsh should NEVER have been allowed to drag his victims’ families through multiple appeal processes. That was pure torture for them. I have no doubt in my mind that, if and when he is released from prison, he will kill again. I hope this monster is denied parole when the time comes.
They tell us who they are......setting fires, hurting and killing animals......but there were no signs he would actually hurt people? Really" Later they will say that none of this could have been predicted or prevented......Well, yes it could.
Yes Juanita, Sadly, these are very real signs right there! I honestly believe people are too damn lazy to take serious steps to prevent these deranged and (often in pain themselves) individuals from continuing this path of destruction. All of what you said are precursors to violent murderous insanity. Doctors and parents and court systems see it, they hear it from the very source ( He told many people what he was intending, imagining) and nothing is done, over and over. Unbelievably, they are just too lazy to help the sick individuals, they say we will drug them, that is a solution, it is not. There is a solution but it takes much care and much commitment
His crime was horrific, but something even more horrific is how he's twisting the courts like it's a big joke. Serious offenders should not be allowed to put continuous appeals.
Emotionally, you're right...legally, No. If your brother, son etc was charged with a horrific crime that he did not commit you would want ALL legalities available to you (not saying this guy is innocent, just making a point)
Welcome to the corrupt and corrupted human laws. People who commit these type of crimes should NEVER be released to any free community ever again. The victims who are friends and family of these violent crimes need security and safe certainty for the rest of their lives.
Never before have I seen someone so disturbed, providing such insight into their thoughts and intentions. Daniel Marsh is quite possibly the most dangerous person I've ever heard of.
I agree. He should be used as a clinical study. He is definitely a psychopath and should never, ever be released. It’s unfortunate for him to be born with that, however, in the interest of the public, he should remain where he is till the day he dies. One life needs to be sacrificed for the lives of many (assuming he would kill again which tbh I am 100% sure he would). The school councillors should be immediately sacked and their licences to practise revoked. If they cannot identify the huge risks Daniel Marsh posed to society, then they are not fit enough to do their job.
I mean the initial and most famous instance of this is Ed Kemper. He however stopped himself, and went on to be the one to help the FBI come up with their profiling program. This kid is just depraved in comparison, while Ed certainly had those moments he also has a degree of a conscience.
The smirk on his face he was trying to hide when he says he doesn't want to remember as it was so deprived...he relives that over and over and reveals in it!
He got the crime scene photos of their mutilated bodies tattooed on him!? 🤢🤮🤬 That alone should be enough to not allow him to continue this torture to the victims family of placing one BS appeal after another. He has every checkmark of a sociopathic psycho...
Totally agree! IMO the police department need to be held accountable for his death. It's absolutely disgusting how just because he has mental health issues he's an immediate suspect! With absolutely no evidence or reason to have him as a suspect in the first place 😑 Legit made me angry when that was explained. RIP my man! At least you can rest in peace now and be with your loved ones you lost your life over.
I know.... The unwarranted torture he must've endured from the public for being wrongfully accused.. The trauma that must've caused.... The poor soul...
@@nafsimohamed2392 Exactly! No evidence on top of the fact he was dealing with his own extremely serious mental health issues is beyond disgusting to me! To find out that as usual, absolutely no-one was held responsible is sickening! Yet not surprising in the least bit. It's exactly the same as here in the UK, law enforcement, Judges, CPS, Psychiatrists ETC... basically ANYONE in a position of power and meant to have responsibility, are NEVER held ACCOUNTABLE. NEVER. Regardless of any evidence showing their clear misconduct or negligence. There's a case here in the UK where social services (same as CPS) failed again and AGAIN to protect a child, actually removing them from the care of their grandparents and giving then back to the parents after the father was released from jail. This was even after the grandparents had told the judge 'You will have blood on your hands one day and have to explain yourself' Well...... I'm sure you can guess how it ended up! The father ended up killing the child. This was after the grandparents had spent their entire life savings trying to fight the custody decision in court.. While the couple were issued with free legal aid. Well they obviously lost this battle which ended in them also loosing their grandchild. Within weeks of this the grandmother actually died leading just the grandfather left. He wrote a letter to the judge and stated how hurt he was and how he felt totally failed by the 'system' yet simply requested a sorry from the judge in writing Well, while trying to grieve both his grandchild's MURDER and then the death of his wife.. His whole world! His life-partner for decades... He was totally ignored and has never had an apology or even been acknowledged by the same people who failed both him and his late-wife but even more importantly, had totally failed to protect that child again and again. So many points it could have been avoided, the amount of times they could have done their job correctly, investigated the claims and put a stop to everything is actually crazy... And EXTREMELY infuriating. The worst part is that it's not even like this is an isolated case within the UK, as shown in the case in this video, seems it doesn't matter with who you are dealing with or the geographical location! People in authority positions are never held accountable, therefore why would they show any responsibility for their actions! Never been made to do so for the whole of their careers so why change now?.... Seems to be their attitude. Sorry for the rant! Last few days I've seen this exact thing happen in multiple videos from all different crime channels and it's honestly just infuriating, the last one I watched was regarding the blatant police failure to investigate a man who was found absolutely TORTURED in his own apartment, blood everywhere and was found in water. Had holes all over him and black and blue from head to toe. Within a few days the mother is contacted by his 'GF' who he had never mentioned yet she was claiming they were about to move in together, open joint bank account and planning kids, even going as far to say she had already miscarried one baby. Yet later on while talking with the mother slipped up she had only seen him in person 4tines, and every one of those times matches to him ending up in hospital after being drugged and poisoned. From the start it's clear she was the suspect even before all the other stuff she did/say. Yet the police... Well for the 2nd case from the same county... They claimed he had beaten himself into a coma and even though his toxicology came back clean, even before the results were back and the first time on the crime scene the detective was already claiming it HAD to be meth. This was literally the same day, as soon as CSI had done their job of documenting the scene. Upon further look it was also clear that there had been a clean-up attempt. Bleach wipes hidden in bizarre places as well as the walls showing cleaning fluid had been sprayed on top of the blood, his spare key was also missing... The 'GF' later stated she knew about the key and had used it in the past. So instead of doing their job, they were so quick to close the case as self inflicted wounds and overdose. This decision was later changed again and AGAIN. Its crazy! So this guy was apperantly high on meth (although perfect toxicology report) had tortured himself for multiple days even though he had a great job and had a bright future ahead of him. After this he took the time to try and clean up only to end up beating himself into a coma to then put HIMSELF into a cupboard, turn down the thermostat and lay there for multiple days dying! As when found he had soooo many wounds which were all at different points of healing. His mother had seen him only days before he stopped answering his phone and within a week of him being found. The case is such a clear first-degree homicide it's unreal, and finding out it's the 2nd case in the same county under pretty much the exact same conditions to be ruled 'self inflicted'. It's a 2pt video put up a few days ago! If interested let me know and I'll give you the name of the creator. She did a fantastic job on a case which is so captivating and has so much evidence showing exact OPPOSITE of what the police found. With her daughter they did their own investigation and recorded meetings with this supposed 'GF' along with phone calls and the results are clear to see. Yet again, pure negligence and laziness on behalf of the local police yet no accountability from any of them. As long as they can close the case and do as little work as possible along the way, regardless of the fact you are allowing a sick, twisted individual roam the streets... Well that's just fine 🙄
@@pearlbonnie1369 life in prison isn't "cruel and unusual", being skinned alive and thrown over hot coals and being dragged back over them until they stop moving is "cruel and unusual" which, honestly, is what they deserve.
Ridiculous! This guy shows absolutely no remorse simply because he's trying to get out of jail! If he had ANY remorse and regret he would take that godamn sentence on the chin and deal with his actions.
I was thinking the same thing. He talked about wanting to go on a spree and said he was certain he was capable of doing it & the genius authorities said he wasn’t a danger?!?! WTH?!?!
When the governor of California over-ruled the public's vote making these reforms, the victims are re-victimized all over again. It just breaks my heart to see that happen.
Fact and the yt video was just another stab at the family i feel not from a guy who is truly sorry for what he did. a person who is remorseful and accepts that they are guilty would accept their punishment and not keep trying to get out of it. this guy is a smart guy he knows exactly what he is doing
That’s one view. While I find him to be repugnant and horrible. It is the constitutional right for all convicted to have appeals. So there probably wasn’t malicious intent behind the appeals. It’s easy to view all his actions in the same light of his most egregious act though we should try to remove emotions and look logically when researching these cases.
Him getting out into the open world at any age is just insane and something which must be prevented in any which way possible. Otherwise he will kill again. There is no rehabilitation for psychopathy. Whether he’s 25 or 65, he will kill if and when he is released from prison.
I believe in a justice system that prioritizes rehabilitation, but I think you have to consider this on a case by case basis. There are people who cannot safely reenter society and they need to stay imprisoned whether we like it or not. I think there's enough evidence from people close to the case that Daniel shouldn't be released.
Also some people cannot be rehabilitated; at 38.5/40 on the psychopathy checklist, why do the public have to take the risk? He bragged about his thoughts before the event, after the event, got tattoos of the damage he had caused. How much more evidence of chronic danger to the public do we need? He's a good argument for the death penalty, and I don't say that lightly.
The narcissism that comes with Marsh’s psychopathy is why he would never be a successful serial killer - he literally could not and never would have been able to shut up about his actions.
Exactly. He was high off all the notoriety and it’s beginning to become dull he wants out so he can have more “experiences” but his dumbass would end up right back in there because he literally can’t not brag.
I'm not so sure. He was so young, he maybe would have learned those skills along the way. I'm just speculating. Most serial killers don't kill people so young. They might kill animals but they are often unknown to the law until maturity when they become serial killers.
This kid is literally going around telling all the professionals around him that he’s going to most definitely hurt someone and nothing was done. If we could go ahead and transition society to be more proactive instead of reactive that would be great on a lotttt of fronts.
I'm guessing that the mental health professionals just thought that he was looking for attention. I knew a guy that happened to, he's in prison for attempted murder now. They should take threats like that more seriously, they aren't always empty.
100%! problem is we can't put someone away before they do the crime. Makes sense as it would be open day on people getting people put away by claiming they said they would Murder etc. They did have him on Meds and he was seeing a psychologist so He was not being ignored. Unfortunately you cant fix Psychopaths , their brains are wired different. He simply needs to go away forever.
@ActualReality, I totally agree. Same with the age factor playing a big role in sentencing. Society has changed very much and there are more and more young people killing other people. People should be sentenced by their crime, not by their age. Plus there's psychopaths out there who's brain is wired in a way that they have an uncontrollable urge to hurt and kill and who don't feel empathy. They cannot help themselves, their brain is dysfunctional for participating in a society. The latter needs to prevale above the unfortunate misproduction of the psychopathic mind of an individual, so they should be kept out of society foregood.
Fortunately... for now anyways .. We dont toss you in prison for "Thought Crimes" or a Maybe, Possibly, Could, Might etc etc .... Thats a Slippery Slope that i seriously hope stays in Communist Countries like CHINA .
It feels like a South Park episode. He went around for years spilling his inner demons and urges. He literally told everyone he wanted to torture and kill people. Then he did and everyone is like “How did we miss this?” 🥴
Wait, he had the poor ladies wounds tattooed on himself?! What an absolute freak. He should NEVER be allowed out, unless it is to a room where the family of that lovely, innocent couple can do whatever they please to him. If he was genuinely sorry, he would know he should be locked up for LIFE and not keep these ridiculous appeals up! That poor family.
@@eadweard. too quick maybe? Having watched too many cartel videos I'd say hand him over to them but they might just employ him for his ruthlessness. 🤷♀️ I'd be fine with the death penalty if it were my loved ones who were slaughtered.
"I haven't wanted to remember it" Well the family has to remember what you did every day, and you should suffer for what you've done and be reminded of it every day!
When you have someone telling you that they’re thinking about doing things like that you should have every legal right to lock them in a mental asylum for as long as needed. That’s the only way society will be able to be safe
Yet another case where animal abuse wasn't taken seriously, with dire consequences. Normal people don't take pleasure in hurting the vulnerable; if they do, they are defective.
I totally agree but didn't he tell counsellors how he felt and only received medication, safe guards should have been put in place way before this, but we live in a system that doesn't allow this more's the pity
I totally agree and I absolutely love animals, I grew up around dogs and they were my best friends. However, team people. Absolutely nothing should be valued or compared to a human life and when people make comments like this it makes me cringe. Team people.
If he was reformed and remorseful he'd accept that he deserves his sentence and not put the family through continued stress and pain by keep appealing. All he cares about is himself.
Yes. And this is actually what seems to have happened with Jeffrey Dahmer, mentioned in this video. He seemed to have accepted his guilt, asked a religious minister if he was committing a sin by staying alive, and reportedly didn't resist when he was murdered by a fellow inmate.
All the people he told in the days and weeks that followed and not one of them told the police! Even if he was lying they should have told the police! Instead the police pushed the couples grandson so far that he later killed himself because of his treatment. It’s absolutely horrific!! 😭
No. It’s not true that it was bc the police questioned him. It was how others treated him later, in combination with existing severe mental health issues
This case is one that really bothers me. The fact that you are sound asleep and then this monster walks in and does things one can’t even imagine would happen to them.
This one pissed me off, this kid was screaming into the void that hes a killer and no one could be bothered. Then he kills, and they try everything to keep him out of jail. Sorry but no. He needs to be in jail for the rest of his life. Period. He didnt watch these people slip n fall, he ENJOYED their deaths. You forfeited your freedom.
But wasn't that exactly what Marsh was doing in that Ted talk from prison? Pretending that he's sorry? Pretending like he was a changed man? Don't get me wrong - I don't give two shits about this asshole, and he should never be released EVER.
@@leonie8999 Yeah, I mean, that was really beyond disturbing - the whole thing was. It's virtually impossible to even fathom a character like Marsh. I think that, fortunately, characters like Marsh are an exceedingly rare breed.
I cant imagine the pain the family has continually been put through by all the appeals and court dates. Constantly reliving the loss of their loved ones.
I’m so glad that his conviction was upheld. This should have NEVER been up for any type of appeal. He is NOT rehabilitated at all. This is about HIM “getting over” the system. If he was let out, he would have been looking for that “experience” again. The experience he described as pure rush of adrenaline. He is where he belongs and should serve every day of the 52 years plus some more!!
I agree he should be kept away from society probably forever, but I’m struggling with whether it should be in a prison or mental institution. I’m no bleeding heart, but I do think that people who have been deemed to indeed have mental illness shouldn’t be punished for something that the mental illness caused them to do. So again for those who’re going to try and label me whatever they want, I do not think this boy should be released back into society where he could hurt people again, however jails are for punishment. They stopped rehabilitating people in jail a long time so therefore, I’d suggest he be sent to a mental institution. Not a bleeding heart but I also don’t have some sort of blood lust for punishment and don’t just want to throw away the key for everyone who sets foot in a court house. What he did was horrible but if mental illness is the reason, then a mental institution should suffice. They are not an easier alternative to prison as some people (including Defendant’s who will feign mental illness in order to be sentenced to a mental institution) incorrectly think. These places are max security prisons/hospitals which in addition to being a prison also offer them cognitive behavior therapy and any other treatment for mental illness that their particular condition requires.
@@beautifulsurprise9424 he claimed he would feign mental illness to get out of his crimes. He is merely a POS criminal psychopath, and psychopathy is not a mental illness. They can never be rehabilitated.
To me, just the fact that someone who knows he is guilty of such a heinous crime, yet tries everything to not serve his punishment, tells me he is not remorseful at all. I hope he gets what he deserves in prison.
BTW just found this channel. Anyone who's not watched many videos here. Deffo recommend watching more. One of the best true crime channels have watched. Only came across this y day & watched loads.
I feel he is living in sadistic glee while dragging this family through further agony. Any positive attention given to him is a victory for his sick agenda. Again, this is my opinion. You are entitled to you own.
i think you are not in the wrong.. i also feel that him impacting this pain over and over again on his victims' family is giving him the satisfaction or something.. it almost seems like he is taunting them from beyond his cell with his numerous appeals to be release..
I really appreciate how you explain the legal details rather than a focus on the gory parts of the crime. It just seems much more respectful. And it made me think about what regions are needed in juvenile justice.
It's so bizarre how apathetic he is. Describing how he'd kill the detective, and following up with "nothing personal". It makes me wonder how many people you pass in a day that are like this.
Thank you for covering this story. It rocked Davis and Sacramento. I'm from a nearby area and I remember this well. It was a gruesome act of violence against this poor couple. RIP to Chip and Claudia.
My heart goes out to this sweet couple’s family, as well as my thanks for fighting to keep this psychopath in prison where he belongs!! They’ve kept society safe from this serial killer in the making!! 🙏🏼
My niece was the one dating him when he did this. When my sister said my niece couldn't see him he snuck into their house through the dog door in the middle of the night. Scary how close they were to being a victim.
Its the over-encompassing idea of a second chance. I get what people meant by it and its nice and all, but when you have some that has evidence after evidence, testimonies after testimonies, and outright talked to an investigator on (3) different ways he can kill him without stuttering, that right there is where you need to question the people who wholeheartedly believe where he needs free into society to stay in their house with kids for 3 months with all their kitchen utensils and all.

How can you say you want to shoot up your school and still be allowed to attend, how does the school justify that to the teachers and students they put in danger every single day after that? Insanity.
The fact that he literally CONFESSED out loud about what he wants to do and nobody did anything cause he's "jUsT a KiD" and instead just gave him drugs is honestly pathetic....there has been so many murderers where they have just been given pills instead of actually doing something about it...

Had I witnessed him killing that cat, these murders would not have taken place, because he would be dead (after being tortured in a similar manner). That may seem extreme to some but animals are the absolute innocent victim and perpetrators of such vile acts on an absolute innocent, shows the true depravity of a person and they would easily do it to a person. Animal abusers do not face harsh enough crimes and the legal system does not recognize how strong the link is between those crimes and violent crimes against people.
@@roslynbyers5415 your statement is 💯 incorrect, there's been proof of a relationship between animal abuse and serious violent crimes for decades. Thompson, the National Sheriff’s Association deputy director says, “We need to take animal cruelty seriously if we’re going to start solving other crimes-but it took me 20 years to accept that.” The FBI "elevated animal cruelty to its own category in the system, to be tracked alongside crimes such as homicide and arson." However, "(animal cruelty is not a mandatory part of police training (officers can choose to take it as a module)." "Eighty percent of law enforcement still doesn’t know about that link, but once you show them, they get it right away,” Thompson says. “It’s huge. The more people know about it, the more crimes we’re going to solve.” "1986, a study in the International Journal of Law and Psychiatry found that almost half of rapists and a third of child molesters reported committing animal abuse during childhood or adolescence. In 2001, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention determined that nearly two-thirds of inmates who commit crimes of aggression might also abuse animals. More recently, a study by the Chicago Police Department “revealed a startling propensity for offenders charged with crimes against animals to commit other violent offenses toward human victims.” A survey of women in domestic-violence shelters indicated that 71 percent had partners who abused or threatened to abuse pets."People who commit animal cruelty are usually criminals in other ways." theatlantic.com/science/archive/2017/08/melinda-merck-veterinary-forensics/538575/

Cos he's a cowardly little shit. Sure wasn't in tears when stabbing them. Wasn't in tears when bragging to his m8s. I seto think this dude thought that with either an instantity plea that, that's a get out of jail free card. Or he'd be in juvenille court & get a few yrs in a juvi facility. Well it's for real satisfying for sure to have a pretty good idea for how it will go, in a state prison for this thing. The fact this couple were both the age they were will def see him a target. But wow anyone in there with him, after all this & has seen some of what we've seen. He'd be jumped just for that. I normally think no parole should be rare. But I dk how any professional could say 💯 he ain't doing this again. He enjoyed it to much, is rated way to high for psychopathy to think about release. You can't treat a person to give them a conscience. So he would rate about high as you get surely, for killing again.
@@racchh_xx I feel the same about no parole. I think it makes a person just lose all hope for some kind of future, and there are people who are genuinely remorseful for killing someone, usually crimes of passion, but he doesn't fit in that category. He's a dangerous person and society isn't safe with him out.
@@user-ps2mi9ze5v Definitely. I find some of the LWOP cases crazy. I'm really against the felony murder rule, especially as it stands in FL. I've seen so many cases of people who (fair enough they shouldn't have taken part in a robbery or assault, ect). But those are crimes you'd get a few years for. But there's so many who've taken part in something like that. They had no idea anyone's would be killed, they didn't kill them & sometimes both weren't there at the time & no knowledge off a plan to kill. But being involved in the original crime, gets them automatic 1st deg /LWOP. The prisons are full off people who've been told with their LWOP sentence, they've got a 1-2% chance of getting out. A lot of them young, & /or not bad people, not evil people. And they likely would never have came close to killing anyone, had they not got in that situation. Where if you kill someone on purpose in some cases they'll give 2nd deg. Still a long sentence but way off life. I don't I've how you can get life no parole for felony murder, having not committed it, or known it would happen. But 2nd degree & 20 - 30 for actually killing someone. And yup the prisons love to talk rehabilitation, stick it all over their handbooks. It's meant to be a a punishment period, with the rest rehabilitation. Who's gonna really care being honest, if they go in young especially, knowing no matter what they're in for good. Some will never except it & will fight "rehabilitation", or any kind of change. Others it's 10 plus into their sentence before they calm down. I totally get we can never know if a person will 💯 kill or not again. But regardless of your "performance" in the years up to parole date. You can get a pretty good idea who would do it again. But rarely from the start can you see that there's never gonna be a chance to say we're highly confident this person would likely do this again. This is 1 case that seems that way. Luckily all the evidence even before the case, should see no parole board let him out ever.
This is absolutely so sad!! I swear people are truly crazy!! Quite honestly I'll NEVER understand people whatsoever!!! Thank you so much for a extremely fascinating case!! I genuinely appreciate it!! I absolutely adore your channel!!!
Daniel Marsh was always a potential next Edwin Kemper. Luckily in this story experts have realised his intrinsic psychopathy, and a couple of smart judges, like McAdam, have also realised it. Many others in the community however are not able to understand the difference between one juvenile murderer and another. Daniel has all the hallmarks of a serial killer, such as complete absence of empathy, and pathological lying in order to achieve whatever his aims are. He is virtually guaranteed to re-offend within weeks of his release.
What a thorough presentation of this case. Good job! I live in northern California and was unaware of this crime. Shocking that it took so long for anyone to report his confessions of the crimes. That happens far too often. SMH
Hold On, so he's mature enough to conduct a 15minute long TEDtalk where he discusses his prison sentence, alleged previous abuse and hopes for rehabilitation but he's NOT mature enough to be tried in an adult court?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I can't even express how happy I am that you uploaded another video :D I've been checking your channel every day, hoping that you've uploaded without me getting a notification hahaha
I went to school with Daniel, I remember hearing rumors and what I thought was just stupid rumors of him wanting to shoot up the school, I remember having friends in the same friend group and I mean Davis is small so everyone knows everyone, he hung out in my brothers friends group, when this all happened it definitely shook us all
THis is the classic case of a person that needed long term hospitalization for mental health crisis. He told them over and over again what he was thinking. He gave lots of details way ahead of time. He knew it was going to happen and I'm sure the people that he told those things to also thought it was going to happen.
@@monkeynumbernine yes, he does need to be locked away for the rest of his days. However, if people had listened in the first place, those people would not be dead and they would be living their best life.
The way he talked when he was young they should have done something then. The way he bragged to his friends and the tattoo's he put on his body that should speak for itself. I agree i think if he is ever released he would do the same thing.
Pickpocketing, arson and property damage are crimes for which non-adults should be tried as non-adults. Premeditated double murder on the other hand... if you're old enough to willingly torture and murder someone for your own sick pleasure, you're old enough to face a life sentence. The guy should feel incredibly blessed that he wasn't put on Old Sparky.
I’m all for prison reform and prison rehabilitation, but even with all that, it’s still difficult to feel any sympathy for Marsh. I don’t want him to be abused and mistreated in prison, but he should definitely stay locked up for the foreseeable future.
If the court would let him out, I swear an even more gruesome murder would occur in their state in a year or less than a year. As a defendant, he has his right to defend himself but SHAME ON those fighting for his side to find loops in the law just to give him what he wanted. Psychopaths DO NOT discriminate targets. Hopefully those who defended him would get that.
@@rockstarofredondo not we, Californians. This isn't a federal case, it's woke California wasting tax dollars and making the victims' families live through the nightmare over and over. Before a crime- we can’t do anything because a crime has not been committed!
After the crime - how could we have prevented this terrible tragedy?

The police didn’t do anything as they said they were no identifiable victims ….. yet. They should have thought of that.
There's nothing that could've been done. Remember, this happened in the State of California.
Of course if you try to tell them that they will jump on you like hyenas.

daniel obviously targeted them on purpose bc his dad lived a couple houses over. daniel knew who lived in that house.
Cringy more like
When Daniel was on the stand, saying he didn’t want to remember the crime he committed because he couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that as a youth he could have done something so heinous, his testimony rang very hollow.
He told everyone that would listen that he did it and was the greatest feeling. So anything he said on the stand was a lie

and setting fires... thats a huge sign of psychopathy.. its literally on a checklist for psychopathic behavior from FBI
How about a case where a child is abusive of animals, parents, siblings and other children.
As the child grows the violence both verbal and physical increases.
Drugs both prescribed and illegal are abused.
Therapy is refused and minor crimes such as theft and vandalism become prevelant.
At what point shouls this person be denied freedom?

He wrote a letter to the judge and stated how hurt he was and how he felt totally failed by the 'system' yet simply requested a sorry from the judge in writing
Well, while trying to grieve both his grandchild's MURDER and then the death of his wife..

At least it bought him some time out of jail - god knows what kind of buggery hell he's going through in there.
If he was ever released, more people would die. 100%.
It's not a matter of "if" he gets out
but when he gets out more people will die.
Him getting out into the open world at any age is just insane and something which must be prevented in any which way possible. Otherwise he will kill again. There is no rehabilitation for psychopathy. Whether he’s 25 or 65, he will kill if and when he is released from prison.
He'll more than likely kill more people while he's in prison. As long as he has access to other living beings, they're at risk.
Absolutely. He has far too many psychological issues. Several personality disorders in one evil human.
I’ll pal his bail and pick him up from jail, then the last death involving him would occur! Then I’d go fishing!!
The legal system seems hell bent on torturing the relatives of victims.
A very scary case. Deeply disturbing. I suspect this is not the last we'll hear of this manipulative, psycopathic young man.
I believe in a justice system that prioritizes rehabilitation, but I think you have to consider this on a case by case basis. There are people who cannot safely reenter society and they need to stay imprisoned whether we like it or not. I think there's enough evidence from people close to the case that Daniel shouldn't be released.
Yep I agree especially in this case he should never be released.
Exactly
He would learn quickly. Unfortunately, he has a couple of decades to strategize.
Exactly. He was high off all the notoriety and it’s beginning to become dull he wants out so he can have more “experiences” but his dumbass would end up right back in there because he literally can’t not brag.
That's a good attribute considering the circumstances, right?

"I haven't wanted to remember it"
Well the family has to remember what you did every day, and you should suffer for what you've done and be reminded of it every day!
When you have someone telling you that they’re thinking about doing things like that you should have every legal right to lock them in a mental asylum for as long as needed. That’s the only way society will be able to be safe
exactly we have to wait for them to actually act on their thoughts to do anything.
That’s what he tried to do. Had the police called to his school six times to be taken off the street so this wouldn’t happen.
Yet another case where animal abuse wasn't taken seriously, with dire consequences. Normal people don't take pleasure in hurting the vulnerable; if they do, they are defective.
Absolutely, animal abuse even amongst children should be taken much more seriously than it is.
I totally agree but didn't he tell counsellors how he felt and only received medication, safe guards should have been put in place way before this, but we live in a system that doesn't allow this more's the pity
Abusing animals is a tell-tale sign that there is depravity in a person's mind & evil in their spirit! PERIOD!🤬😤
Yes and it needs to be said out loud more. Thank you for saying it. They are defective.
There is no if...He cannot be reformed...a perpetual danger to society...
Feel so sorry for the couple 😭 They didn't deserve this... And the grandson who took his own life 😭😭😭 so sad...
The fact that you are sound asleep and then this monster walks in and does things one can’t even imagine would happen to them.
the way you narrate these incidents is so captivating.
What an absolutely terrifying individual. He shows no remorse during his interview
Even Ted Bundy pretended to be sorry
But wasn't that exactly what Marsh was doing in that Ted talk from prison? Pretending that he's sorry? Pretending like he was a changed man? Don't get me wrong - I don't give two shits about this asshole, and he should never be released EVER.

These people are so brave to continue this fight to keep that criminal in prison. Prayers and love to them and RIP to their loved ones.
He is where he belongs and should serve every day of the 52 years plus some more!!
those appeals were automatic. he nor his defense team applied for an appeal
💠💠💠 Amen. 💠💠💠
@@beautifulsurprise9424 YES!! I agree with everything you said. Well said!
If it can't be capital punishment, then life without parole is the only suitable sentence.
Life is cruel punishment for a minor.

i think you are not in the wrong.. i also feel that him impacting this pain over and over again on his victims' family is giving him the satisfaction or something.. it almost seems like he is taunting them from beyond his cell with his numerous appeals to be release..
Hence why so many kill. They want the infamy.
I really appreciate how you explain the legal details rather than a focus on the gory parts of the crime. It just seems much more respectful. And it made me think about what regions are needed in juvenile justice.
It's so bizarre how apathetic he is.

@@arisucheddar3097 good point! I hadn't thought of that
Had I witnessed him killing that cat, these murders would not have taken place, because he would be dead (after being tortured in a similar manner).
👏👏👏👏👏💯
While most of what you say is true, there is no link to murderer's and animal abuse, millions of people abuse animals but do not murder
“It’s huge. The more people know about it, the more crimes we’re going to solve.”
"1986, a study in the International Journal of Law and Psychiatry found that almost half of rapists and a third of child molesters reported committing animal abuse during childhood or adolescence. In 2001, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention determined that nearly two-thirds of inmates who commit crimes of aggression might also abuse animals. More recently, a study by the Chicago Police Department “revealed a startling propensity for offenders charged with crimes against animals to commit other violent offenses toward human victims.” A survey of women in domestic-violence shelters indicated that 71 percent had partners who abused or threatened to abuse pets."People who commit animal cruelty are usually criminals in other ways."

Can't believe he had the audacity to file an appeal in July after what he did smh I hope he never gets out
It genuinely looks like this sick fk was a serial killer caught first time. Sitting in tears in court trying to say he'd be fine let out. Nah he'd deffo go after someone again, someone vulnerable.
You truly are great on researching and telling these horrific stories

SMH
