      Not that he went back for the pet - thankfully, and also the brother, but the fact that he found - in his story - his mother and the room on fire, yet he left her there to go and get help, then came back and couldn't reach her. If it was true and you were right there, you'd take her with you when you left the first time.

      Psychology is an inexact science, there are no experts in that field. There are many cases of criminals manipulating psychologists, and of a psychologist having a completely different diagnosis about the mental health of suspects in a trial.

    • @laurarowe7043
      @laurarowe7043 3 роки тому +24

      CAMHS have a difficult job and they try to avoid "labelling" . The mental health services for children and young people needs a complete overhaul. Too many children are lost in the system. Too many children take their own lives or harm others before the help reaches them. However with this case I don't believe the blame lies solely with CAMHS but will the level of manipulation and psychopathy this child was capable of but due to his age could not be diagnosed. I've seen children his age insist they are ok or have got better and do what they have to do to either not need to be seen after the initial assessment or manage to get discharged before they should and go on to decline, i think its also partly to do with getting children discharged so the next on the waiting list can be seen. This needs to change, I have heard that children feel like they are being rushed through and not being heard. Another reason a complete overhaul of MHS is needed.

    This case hit really close to home, because my brother acts very similar to this kid. He grew up consuming disgusting content, was physically violent, drew murder scenes, and more. My mom lived in denial though and refused to see him as anything but her favorite son. He would direct his rage towards me and my brother, which resulted in several times being in the emergency room due to beatings. Now that I’m 25 and married, I’ve moved across the country, changed my number, and made sure that NO one under any circumstances gave him any of our information. Honestly, I sit back and wonder if he’s ever going to do something like this, and it’s horrifying to realize. He’s hasn’t been far off from it, and there’s nothing that we’ve been able to do to prevent it when growing up. I saw it coming because I grew up with a brother like him. I'll bet he felt replaced by his mother getting a boyfriend and going out. I'm not saying this excuses what he has done, but I understand why. I'll bet he heard her getting intimate with her boyfriend and he didn't like it. Add the divorce to it.
    My mother was never home and even though she might have been nice to others , as kids we felt left out and we knew she prioritize her man more than us. She also abused us she was horrible.
    Just another way to. look at it. Sadly her son had a temperament prone to violence. Parents should not let their kids consume all that garbage, but because she felt bad and probably guilty she let him do whatever.
    People usually will ask why but won't listen to the reply.

      Yeah, maybe he has narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) and not psycopathy, so NPD, or even if no NPD, and the whole situation made him so jealous/angry he did this. Interesting thoughts. I find this case fascinating since so many doctors were confused about it and did not think he is a psychopath. I was also theorizing a brain injury in childhood maybe. Even one that didn't seem serious, just some random fall on the playground, could have changed just the right (wrong?) spot to cause this. Tumors too, though I would assume they checked for that. I'm not a doctor but I would also assume not every brain injury can be seen with the tech they have. Tiny, unable to be diagnosed, and seemingly minor but in the exact spot needed to make a change like this... Weirder things have happened. Nobody take this as me having any idea.. I'm just thinking out loud! I am also aware that, at least in the US, anybody under 18 can usually not legally be diagnosed with these things. Again, just thinking.

      I agree. Divorce, moved from his school new house, new father figure. Sounds like he was left to his own devices in his room , left to defecate, why wasn't this noticed? Some parents so obsessed with their own new lives the kids get left behind. This case is just tragic.

      Same here, when my dad died of a stroke, when I was a kid my mother had no interest in us but was fixated on getting a man, any man. We were neglected. She even ended up having a six year fling with an extreme evangelical pastor in Kent and they used to use our home as a Sex Fest uring the day. And we used to get the congregation ringing our house and I had to pick up the phone and it was awkward as they wanted to speak to the Pastor and he was in bed with my mother. As a child, I had no idea what to do in the that crazy situation.

    I don’t know but she is portrayed as a perfect mother but he was isolating and into the gruesome movies and things before the divorce. It seems she was not a good attentive parent. And it all went steadily downhill

      @@beaulieuonnp593 it’s pure speculation but I wonder if she was an alcoholic or heavy drinker. It seems she was not attentive to her son from a young age and then divorced and met the new boyfriend in a pub and in short order they decided to live together. The boy had a lot of problems from a young age and didn’t get the help he obviously needed. And he must have had a lot of anger buildup to kill his mother

    Damn... As soon as she said that the kid had woke up to someone throwing a hammer at him, I thought "Well, it likely wasn't a made up story then. That's a pretty specific thing to make up."
    After all the crime stories I've seen, I'm amazed at how naive I can still be.

    If this devil can do this at 14, imagine what he'll do at 30 if released. He's gonna murder someone again. That's for sure. Lock him away for good or hopefully he gets "taken care of" while in prison.

    How can someone be so called "rehabilitated" when they won't explain why they did it. Rehabilitated should be admitting to and accepting responsibility for your crime which he hasn't done and they are already talking about cutting his sentence. Sickening.

      I can't stand these people like you who gloss right over the fact that this woman openly abused (and christ only knows what she did to him behind closed doors) the kid for years before he finally snapped and killed her, and insist she's the ONLY victim, like they explicitly detail that she neglected him so badly he was able to fill multiple boxes with excrement, and able to have unsupervised access to graphic materials designed for adults, sure she didn't deserve to die but holy tacos let's not act like she's a true victim.... saying with me, just because the dead person is female DOESNT AUTOMATICALLY MAKE HER THE VICTIM

    I watch and rarely comment. This kid knows he'll get out. He is ahead of the game, jail will only make him more calculating. The system will give in to him eventually and that's terrifying.
