When I was building my company Spheric Technologies in 2003, my schedule was a MESS.
100-hour work weeks…
Working until 2 a.m. and then back in meetings again at 7 a.m…
And 95% of my calendar was filled with work that drained my energy.
I HATED getting out of bed.
Nowadays, thanks to the strategies I want to share with you today, my life and business are totally different...
I run multiple 8-figure companies working just 7 hours on some weeks...
I get to spend most of my time doing what I love... coaching amazing founders.
And I explode out of bed, pumped full of energy to crush the day.
How did I get here?
Hard work.
But also, after years of grinding and crawling through the trenches…
I’ve discovered the secret to designing my calendar and life to be the most effective CEO and unlock painless growth.
So if you want to perform at a high level in every area of your life, then watch today’s episode.

Better title is how personal assistants schedule for their CEOs. While busy, top leaders can change schedules if a situation arises. They can also use their assistants to decline and say no. Middle managers and line workers don’t have any of those luxuries with their time.
Fair point👌
Fair point yes but everyone has a level that they can start and apply what was taught in the video. And the book goes into more details about how to do that regardless of where you are at. I would also agree with you that it is less simple than that without the assistance of hired help however being able to take one or two things from the video and apply it to see how you can create changes in your time that makes sense for you seems like the way to go. Just my 2 cents that nobody asked for😏✌🏾
Dan, this is one of the best videos you've ever made (and I've watched for years).
Thanks so much for taking the time to detail out your "self imposed rules."
I love seeing the higher standard you've set for yourself.
This comment hit me in the heart.
Pouring everything into content and want to give as much value as possible.
The next one’s gonna be even better🙏
Really good Dan!! I just wrote this out. I'm almost there but I love the discipline on the time blocking...for me, I realize I have been all over the place in my schedule throughout the years. ..sometimes my hair was on fire. lol, I have had great success with that but I can imagine this will skyrocket my goals.
This is next level! I dont understand a few things though:
1. When do you take a break? How can you possibly wake up at 4am then work until the evening without crashing?
2. What do you mean that your morning routine lasts from 4am-12pm?
3. Do you wake up and start working right away? No meditation/priming before?
The first 90 minutes should be spent focusing on what matters most. I am enjoying this. Great share
Yup! Mornings are when you have the most creative energy:)

Fantastic insights, Dan! 🚀 The life of a CEO is anything but ordinary, and effective time management is critical. Here are my top three takeaways from "How CEOs Schedule Their Day":
1⃣ Prioritize the Important Over the Urgent: It's so easy to get caught up in the urgent daily tasks and forget about the crucial, longer-term initiatives. The best CEOs know how to distinguish between the two and allocate time accordingly.
2⃣ Time Blocks for Deep Work: Setting aside dedicated blocks of time for focused, uninterrupted work can lead to significant progress on projects. These moments of deep work can be the difference between a good CEO and a great one.
3⃣ Self-care is Non-negotiable: Amidst the hustle, top CEOs never forget to schedule time for self-care, whether it's meditation, exercise, or even just short breaks. A well-rested and healthy CEO is far more effective.
Dan, your expertise and experience shine through in every video. Thanks for helping budding CEOs and entrepreneurs elevate their game with tried and tested strategies. Keep lighting the way! 🔥
Thank you so much for sharing this portion of your life

Awesome video! Super insightful! Coming to your hike in 2024!
See you there!
Great video Dan! Your book BBYT is an instant classic. I've re-read it many times and am working to implement it fully. The home manager has been life-changing. Question? You mentioned in the podcast not too long ago about a progression pathway for employees to move up in your company...I'm not able to find it anymore...would you be able to share the link?
I’ve got a few videos on this.

Super helpful video👌
Appreciate ya Dan!
incredible
Great share
great vid
hey Dan do you ever feel like this burns you out? Do you ever feel like you need time in the day to do anything? Also if you fall behind in something perhaps a meeting, doesn't it push all your other meetings or blocks back?
Nope, that’s why I plan my recharge days on weekends. And I always end meetings on time:)
“Dont multitask, just get more leverage by doing more than one thing at a time” 😂😂😂
4:30am emails. 5 to 6am back to sleep. 7am I talk to God. 9am I have physical meetings til 2. 3 to 7pm I wrap up work/project then teach til 8pm. 9:30 in bed.
I loved the video. I'm confused about one thing though. I'm totally on board with not multi-tasking and batching tasks, but then you mentioned that you'll get on a bike for internal meetings and read books while you recover in a hot tub. Isn't that multi-tasking?
I could see how certain tasks e.g. cycling, soaking in a hot tub are not attention demanding and maybe that's the answer, don't do 2+ attention demanding activities at once.
Yup you got it.
I call it NET (No Extra Time)
Look at your day and see where you can insert non-cognitive tasks with some cognitive tasksz
Thank you for this. I am 22 years old and my firm only earns six figure months and I’m managing it between Saskatchewan and Ontario as I pursue two law degrees. These videos really help because you’re absolutely correct on being efficient with your time.
Undertated content with this guy
Appreciate you🙏
I love how you have the resources and money to go mountain biking, ski, and all that when the people who do all the leg work below you don’t get to do all that you do. The system is messed up.
I wake surf/mountain bike and ski with my team;)
They’re the best. I only work with people I love to spend time with.
Appreciate..
Thx
How long have you been scheduling like this? And how long do you think it can continue?
Since I've had kids. The key is to design it so you can do it forever👊
@@danmartell How do you reply to these comments multiple times a day? Replies are timestamped and its all over the map, so it can't be you unless you've got reply to youtube comments every couple hours in your vid drop day planned.
I’ve got my video team helping out who have watched and heard everything I’ve said 3x for 6 years ;)
But this is me and I try to reply when I can.
2:25 “from 4am in the morning until 9pm when I pass out”
Where do you live for having this schedule? It depends on the location am I right?
As I said on the short, this is very generous and hope to be able to give back likewise one day amen
Location doesn't matter!
You can do it from anywhere.
Appreciate the support

When you wake up in the morning, do you immediately start working or not?
Yup. Every morning. Deep/Creative work only
@@danmartell i see. So it's literally you step out of bed, open laptop and work?

❤❤❤
Be intentional about your calendar, my take away, thanks Dan.
Great takeaway!
Why is it so hard to find angel investors when they know their contribution can accelarate excellent companies or startups. Sure, a lot have to invest internally and won't take risks. But you never hear back from an investor no matter how good the idea or vision is. Talking from a 30 years business development perspective.
U were suppose to say 'lets do it', and in 2-5-10 years you would have another 100 mil business which we can decide to exit or not 😌
Walking hiking date night how about showing us when you actually do work
Is the trick to having 90 productive minutes in the morning, to get up before your kids do?
Yup:)
So CEOs also like flexibility too and first 90 minutes spent in traffic would be a waste.
please stop the music in the background, it's so loud, i cannot hear what you're saying. I couldn't go through this video.
Nothing New, these videos are all the same 😮😮
