Great vid. I am making this beer at the moment but after 11-12 days it is stuck on 1.020. What should I do? I'm worried I might get exploding bottles and at the moment the beer is quite weak.

Hi thx for your comment. Don't panic m8 :)
Firstly what is your fermentation temperature and are you using a fermentation chamber? If not what Is your room constant temperature? What fermentables did you use?
Try not to open your fermentor as you don't want any infection plus how long has it been stuck at 1020 for.
Don't worry this does happen and ignore the 1006 ull very rarely get that low and it all depends on fermentables used and the quality of the yeast plus fermentation temps
      What was your sg also?

40 pints thanks for getting back to me. I’m a bit of a newbie. The beer has been kept between 18 and 26 degrees using a heat mat. I was turning it of when I thought it was getting too warm. I didn’t take an initial reading of sg but the temp was below 20 when I added the yeast. I used mangrove jacks pure liquid malt extract.

40 pints I opened it up and gave it a bit of a stir as I read on a forum that could help but did it very quickly to avoid contamination. I have done one 500ml bottle with a sugar drop just to see what happens to it and left the rest in!

Yw m8 firstly you've always gotta take ur sg reading m8 as your never gunna know the abv plus never a good idea to just to leave fv on a heat pad without you using an inkbird. Maybe a thought for the future. Trust me you won't regret it. Watch my how to make a fermentation chamber it's so easy and will dramatically improve your results. That being said i hope u stirred very slowly and didn't put any air in ur brew as this will ruin it so fingers crossed there lol it sounds like ur problem is the dreaded 1020 curse which happens alot my best advice would be to leave it alone at 18-21c for 2 days then take a reading for the next 2 days after that. If they are the same you'll be fine but just have weaker beer. Maybe look at getting a safale yeast next time and throw out the kit yeast. Follow my vids for best results and remember constant temperature control of your brew is super important. Always take sg readings and leave to ferment for 2 weeks. Happy brewing and stay safe :)
