finally the local that understand food and culture, this guy explain everything very well, not like other local foodvlogger who dont actually understand what they are talking about
Ari used to have a food tour around the archipelago, where he took people to try local food and told stories/ histories behind the food. He even had a tv show for a few years back. Both the tour and the tv show called Kelana Rasa/ Taste Wander.
turn out the guy is actually moderator at jalan sutra, so he learn from the master bondan winarno,no wonder this guy is that good, too bad this guy do not make content, iam getting bored with local "foodvlogger" who cant tell which one is jahe which one is kencur, or the one that her only ability to eat spicy food, or the couple that always think expensive food is good food, @@kedimami
Ah yesss… i forgot the Jalan Sutera part. And i couldn’t agree with you more about those vloggers 😄
So glad Luke accompanied by Mr. Arie Parikesit, he's a culinary expert. The man behind Kelana Rasa.
Pantes aku pikir bagus bgt tmnya ini jelasin makananya gk asal”an oh taunya emg expert 😅
yea i often so mad and cringe when some overseas foodvloggers, rent some random guide THAT DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT INDONESIA CULTURE AND NATURE ESPECIALLY ABOUT THE CULINARY.
the hell. if YOU, positioning yourself as a GUIDE, then YOU SHOULD KNOW STUFF. Even if not detail. at least know so many stuff. many, not detail.
but this guide right here, is good at explaining. not using somekind of englishwannabe style of speaking. i hate that. i call it 'bahasa alay jaksel'. some ppl maybe have their own term. but that;s what I call those Indonesians.
'ackshually', 'well..', 'literally'. stuff like that. cringe alay jaksel english speaker wannabe.
be like this Indonesian bearded gentleman here. he just being himself. Indonesian speaking English. no need to pretend to be British especially the cringe one.
edit; if you want to be INDONESIAN or just JAKARTA TOUR GUIDE, you should know like.. the foods, also the ingredients. and talk about ingredients, YOU ALSO NEED TO KNOW THE ANIMALS. Like.. you need to know about 'tongkol' is actually part of tuna family in English naming system.
You also need to know that food is truly traditional food from decades ago or centuries ago. or... is it a recently created food n drinks like back in 2010 or in 1980.
for example, the current popular seblak is actually recently made food. as a guide, u cant tell it;s 'traditional food of sundanese'. the original seblak that just kerupuk, however, created long time ago.. BUT still not traditional dish.
Please stay at least a month! I "need" more Indonesian content! 😋😋😋
That _rujak buah_ is the highlight for me, because most vendors (understandably) cut corners with their selection of fruits, but this stall here actually includes native fruits that are hard to find in supermarkets like 11:49 lovi-lovi and 11:54 mango plum and also 13:00 starberry. 👍
I’ve been in Bali for the past few weeks, the Warungs here, are crazy..
I can’t imagine, what it’s like in the rest of Indonesia.
The buffet style is overwhelming to say the least.
Different area, different style and food. Hope u see the rest of indonesia
I’m Indonesian but I haven’t even tried some foods here.
This ist THE REAL INDONESIAN FOOD! YOUR INDONESIAN FRIEND IS A GREAT! HE KNOWS WHICH FOOD WORTH TO PRESENT TO THE WORLD WITH SUPER QUALITY & ADORABLE PRICE. 10/10
Thanks for the appreciation miss
Ari is such a great guide, he could explain everything very well! Also, great video, Luke!
How lucky Luke Martin collab with Arie, the person who knows about the history of Indonesian food
Mas Ari, 2 thumbs up for your excellent English and knowledge! Luke, you had the best tour guide 🎉
Dia udah sering di hired food vloggers sih
Tp knp ya org itu ikutan nyendok pd satu piring...?? Apa gk jijik sih , aku aja klo makan ada yg mau nyendok mending tak kasih semua
Not so many foreigners can spot on the best local food stall, all of your choices are the legend ones, very authentic! ❤
Lol these bloggers all going to the same places. They are just copying the pioneers
Bubur ayam nampak sedap 🤤 Watching from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Come here we have a lot of bubur ayam, there's a pale one like that, there's with soto type of sauce, chindo bubur also really good, theres bali bubur, minang bubur, etc i can say our country has a really good bubur

There are so many food options at that Sumatran restaurant, and while I may have a problem with choice, I love it!
Their mixed sweet soup is so rich in ingredients, I would eat it for all three meals!
I’ve never seen torch Ginger Papa fruit before, it’s so special!
That fruit salad looks delicious and so cheap!
I also like the last dessert, both kind are great!
Thanks a lot for sharing, really great job! Happy travels! 👍🥰🙏
There are so many options you could eat there everyday!
@@LukeMartin Viva, I wish I can travel to there one day! I will go to that restaurant. Take good care! 👍🤩🙌

Luke everytime you visit Indonesia and need a guide, Ari is the perfect person! I'm glad you enjoyed every meal
Pak Ari, you are amazing ❤ You should to be famous among food enthusiasts, but sadly not any Indonesian food vlogger know the history neither food names😢
You got the right Indonesian food guru. He really knows what you're eating and the story behind it. As Indonesian, I got better Indonesian food recommendation and explanation from your vlogs.
Your camera ,perfect mr😊
My American husband is interested in watching your show here since the local guy explained it very well with the historical background, the origin and how to cook the food. Not only mentioning what's the taste like. Bravo!

The most mouthwatering video. My bad watch this video at midnight, and I'm starving 😂
Nice review
Bener, bubur nya di aduk 👍
Sering ya ke Indonesia
Terbaiklah...syurga makanan
Amazing dish
hayy luke, welcome back
I watched a lot of foreigner food vlog trying martabak manis. And they always try the chocolate and cheese. As a local, my preference would be cheese only, with no chocolate. If there's some addition to cheese, raisin is my favorite. In some martabak place they have the combination of cheese and raisin. The raisins add texture layer and acidity to the martabak. You should try.
It was another interesting episode, congratulations Luke👍🏻👏
Welcome to Indonesia, enjoyy 😁

Indonesia surganya kuliner
Very cool Arie, what a great guide and very knowledgeable. Unlike some so called "locals" I've watched just chasing for clout lol.
Hi whats the name of this street in the fried chicken and green chilli - i would loveeee to visit the street and explore other shops
Indonesian food has lots of choices and flavors, so please just look for something that suits your taste and taste, Indonesia has many cities and of course different islands, that's where you will find food that is typical of each city or region in Indonesia, good luck.

Awesome video!! Hi Luke & Mink. 💯💯💯
Great information about Jakarta street food. However, somehow I will say they’re pretty unhealthy ad it contains processed food, high carbs, sugar and fat. FYI, I am an Indonesian who lives in Jakarta.
Food looks good 🤤😋👍
