    Brilliant talk by Deepak! All there is to life is the experience seeing, smelling, tasting, hearing, touching, emotions, and thoughts -- and what's experiencing them all is consciousness. The thoughts is what's creating the illusion that you are an individual in this existence experiencing the world. But, if you investigate closely, all there is is that 7 experiences known by you which is consciousness itself.

      I appreciate everything you all are part of it. Hi Catherine, I was born in 1980 and I'm doing farming here in India for survival. For me, Doing, is very important. And I strongly believe that things should be perfect. Though, we can't make anything like perfect, because everything seems already perfect at other end. Brobably this is the only reason that I couldn't get perfection in anything. I'm fortunate that I could get access to the ocean of information, confusion and restlessness is by product of lots of information. For the great personality like Deepak sir, situation is bit relexing because they are able to relate the information they are getting but in my case I'm responsible for taking action and will have to get actionable out of all this. It's just to relate my being to this complicated algorithm which is being created because of whatever information being shared and still there are many open questions. I don't know what is right thing to do. Please save me..

    At the Vulture Peak where 1,500 bhikkus gathered to listen his sermons;
    The *Buddha* picked a flower & gazed at it for a while. Nobody understood what it means. Only elder *Kasyapa* 'caught' its profound meaning & smiled back to the Buddha.
    It was the Buddha's 1st silent *mind-to-mind transmission* of the *Zen or Ch'an* Teaching;
    And later Kasyapa became *Maha Kasyapa* - the very 1st Patriarch of the Zen lineage traditions in India, whose Zen Teaching is;
    1. A transmission outside the Scriptures.
    2. Not dependent of scriptural study, practice, rituals, precepts, etc.
    3. By 'direct pointing' to the mind of the seeker.
    4. For the seeker to 'see' his or her own Buddha instantly;
    Which was brought over to China by *Buddha Bodhidharma,* and the Tang Dynasty 6th Patriarch in China, *Hui Neng* propagated Zen to its great prominence in China, spread it to Korea, Japan and the West till today.

    When audience asks questions, the voice is NOT clear as they don't have a mike. Therefore those viewing the video on Internet don't grasp questions well. So as a solution I suggest that either the speaker should repeat the question, to which they are replying or give the audience access to mike.

    Hi Deepak Sir, I'm a farmer from India. I'm confident that I should be part of this forum. I feel I should be utilised based on the reality you are talking about. I'm just concerned about we farmer's being without consciousness. I feel that we are into doing in real sense of the word. Like the hubby 🐝's doing more than what they need for their survival.

    • @wladicus1
      @wladicus1 5 років тому

      _ In reality, you are consciousness, and a farmer is who you believe you are - and thus the limitation of your perception and experience.

    • @AboveAnimal
      @AboveAnimal 5 років тому

      @@wladicus1 to be very honest with you, I am just saying that "Yes, I'm consciousness" but how I can believe without going out of my perception of being a farmer?

    • @wladicus1
      @wladicus1 5 років тому +1

      _ @@AboveAnimal - Yes, that is the problem facing most people. BELIEF.
      _ If one has to believe then is no real 'knowing' .
      _ Belief might be understood as a limited, biassed, conditioned and fixed way of thinking about something.
      _ Thus belief keeps one anchored to the thoughts that one is habitually used to, and those limited fixed thoughts are the very basis upon which one then experiences their particular perception of life.
      _ The key is to find out what thought is all about
      _ Why do we react to thoughts?
      _ Are we the thoughts that appear to our awareness or are we the very awareness that witnesses those thoughts and the various phenomena of this apparent world of our experiences?
      _ Who am I? Self inquiry is a major road to peace and freedom.

    I wish more of us delve into finding real answers instead of identifying ourselves with a country, religion and keep earning money to just live for few yrs and die for nothing.
    1. Where the heck are we - what is this Universe, why did it start expanding, will it stop expanding some day and start contracting?
    2. How did life start on earth and how the heck did our physiology evolved so well that we are what we are today? Is it co-incidence or planted by some other beings (ancient aliens theory)?
    3. Why does it feel like some events are meant to happen for us? Is it that life is predestined or we have something called free will?
    4. Is there life on other celestial bodies?
    5. Are there dimensions which our brain cannot perceive, if so, can we decode how the entire brain works and find a way to perceive things which are there but we cannot realize right now?

    There's a scientist called Tom Campbell that nobody seems to be paying attention to right now, but he has been saying this for over 15 years - documented his conclusions in books written in the early 2000's. Bob Monroe wrote about him. Tom Campbell should win a Nobel Prize someday

    • @jonyxy777
      @jonyxy777 5 років тому +1

      While Campbell has nailed the primacy of consciousness and the fact that the universe is a virtual reality, he has a major flaw - he denies infinity. That's where he and the rest of the consciousness teachers differ. The majority maintain that universal consciousness, aka God, is infinite Being, whereas Tom thinks that it's finite. Well, if it is, then the origin of reality remains unsolved. Only infinity can be timeless, and thus without beginning, and thus without a cause.

      Don't you think you should thank the original Quantum physicists and mathematicians who discovered quantum theory in the first place? Deepak Chopra altogether acknowledges he's not a Quantum physicist or mathematician. He's getting all of his information from those scientists who are quantum physicists. So don't you think you should be thanking them? Deepak Chopra is just popularizing all of this under his own Banner. Plus there are many others in the New Age circles like Deepak Chopra who are also doing this.

    • @shreeshchhabbi

      I started hearing his name recently. I had same skepticism about him. But if you are a seeker of answers to the mysteries of Universe, you will quickly realize that he indeed is honest if you read about him. He studied Bachelors in Medical Sciences. Pursued higher study and specialized in neuroendocrinology. That's subject which deals with understanding how chemicals secreted from various glands in our body affect our thoughts. He worked in various organizations for 20+ yrs in USA. Probably he did not get answers with just science. When he was in India some time, he met head of alternate medicine called Ayurveda in India and probably that triggered him to spirituality and to keep an open mind about what we are. So he moved from being purely scientific to a scientist who is a seeker as well. Since all this happened in 1970-1990, he is much experienced in realizing some of the assumed answers early. He conducts research in Medical/Spiritual context with lot of organizations, that's one area where we need more people to pursue. I completely agree that people in the audience could be much more smarter. But we respect experiences that people have gained in their life. Its not just about fame, education and profession all the time.

    • @pryakris
      @pryakris 3 роки тому

      I am a Indian very spiritually inclined living here for many years. He is a great 'talker' with good educational background in science. But doesn't mean he is a genius in every field. If the audience didn't correct doesn't mean they all agree with his theories and so called 'experience ' stories. There are real ancient sages who have taught about self inquiry/awareness by showing the right way through their own lifestyle who are much more trustworthy than others who all market those ancient teachings for fame and money these days and they themselves are not detached from the material world. Will be better to practice before they preach.

    This guy always confuses me. At first, he speaks of non-local consciousness being responsible for experiencing, asking 'When you see, where does the vision happen?', then he talks about music having an effect on the opioid receptors and giving Narcan being able to shut down emotional response to music. Well, what's responsible for the experience? Non-local consciousness or the brain?

    • @siddharthkumar2313
      @siddharthkumar2313 3 роки тому

      The way I understand it, the non-local consciousness is the 'enabler' of experiences, but the mechanism it uses is that of this projected body-mind complex. So the work of these receptors or that of shutting them down is still done in the body-mind domain but the effect of all such phenomena, which,is at the core, pure experience(either the positive experience of music or the lack of experience after narcan) is still in consciuosness.

      _ Science literally means "knowledge".
      _ The word "science" originally came from the Latin word "scientia" which meant knowledge, a knowing, expertness, or experience.
      _ On that basis Chopra could be said to be a communicator of "original science".

    • @wladicus1
      @wladicus1 5 років тому +2

      _ So the next step is to closely look at the concepts "DARK ENERGY", "MATHEMATICAL CONSTRUCT", "SPEED", "LIGHT", etc... and delve into the depths of comprehending what these concepts are, or any concept for that matter (including language itself). All concept is implicated in a story which is a concept in itself.
      _ Who 'sees' concepts.
      _ That which is called objective is seen/experienced only in the subjective realm of 'mind'. This begs the question of whether there is in actuality an objective at all, since objectivity cannot be proved if it is perceived subjectively.
      _ If one has a special definition for 'objective' meaning an experience of mind, that would be an oxymoron, since experience of mind is subjective as mind cannot be found or categorically defined in any scientific manner that would make it objective.
      _ Unless you call thought the object of mind then there is no such thing as objective in reality. It is only a linguistic term of reference and in essence remains subjective in nature and reality. Mind in essence is the activity of thought. And what is thought?

    Deepak Chopra's thinking is a mixture of non-dual advaitic Hindu philosophy and quantum theories. And he believes this thinking of his is the goose that laid the golden egg for some kind of utopian future humanity. A sincere and serious problem in all of this is that he altogether lacks critical analysis, critical thinking about his own thinking. To show critical analysis to one's own ideas and prognostications is an important value in real science and philosophy. But he offers no cautionary note about anything he is saying. He's enamored by his own metaphysical thoughts or conclusions and where the future of technology is his own kind of religion. In Deepak Chopra's mind there is no dark or shadow side to what he is saying, there is no yin and yang to his thinking, just a mindless affirmation of futurism.

      grospeak I found Chopra's presentation a good description of our non-material existence and the possible nature of consciousness. My big misgivings about what he went on to say in the Q&A was related to his idea that we will evolve as cyborgs. Part of my discomfort with that is because I've been attached to certain notions of us as material constructs from nature and nature knows best. But if we enter into this virtual world, consciousness model, nature is a manifestation of the human creative mind. The dangers I and perhaps you are alert to, relate to a mechanistic state of consciousness which underpins the technological paradigm that prevails and the notion of cyborgs created from this consciousness seems a gross application of intelligence. Chopra went on to say, technology is "our gateway to understanding reality" and that the internet is an exemplar for this. I think he finds the technological world sexy and seductive and lucrative. Whilst acknowledging that we have to become aware of the one inside who is doing the thinking, in order to have an connection with truth, he then promotes the idea that technology is our gateway to evolution. Technology as we presently have it, is largely a manifestation of our disconnection with our true selves, of our flight from our shadow side and anything that causes us existential pain (and through which we could learn something about ourselves). He veers from notions of the mechanistic and material, towards patching up people using technological fixes, all be it informational or energetic in nature, rather than pharmaceutical. Again taking sovereignty and responsibility away from the individual into the hands of the technologists. His answer to the question about privacy and censorship on the internet is indicative of his underlying hive mind mentality, in that he believes humans have no need for privacy. At the deepest level this may be true, in the realm of source consciousness, but in the ego realm that he is describing, it is anathema to human integrity. So, maybe technology is part of our evolutionary pathway, but as we express it presently, it is a distraction from ourselves and any technology that comes from true enlightenment will not look like the travesty that prevails. In fact, it will probably look more like the Garden of Eden.....
