As someone addicted to baked goods a bakery video would be amazing! I have dragged my family all around Edinburgh to visit some of your recommended places, like twelve triangles etc.
I'd love a bakery themed video! Also, I always think you look so stylish. Would you consider either giving me some Edinburgh clothing shopping recommendations or making a video about it?
I live in Glasgow so I'm pleased to discover your Hidden Gem Cafes of Edinburgh. Stockbridge has great cafes, restaurants and pubs. Soderberg is only one (Swedish buns with good coffee). There's also the cafe in the National Portrait Gallery, Queen Street, which I make for as soon as I get off the train at Waverley - that or Jenners.
Fave 2 in Edinburgh so far are Zebra and Connoisseurs , but honestly you can't go wrong in Edinburgh for coffee. Leith is a total eye opener with Artisan Everything !
BTW Kat believes that drinking coffee after 4ish is ill advised, whilst I could drink it til I go to bed. Which coffee shops do you all like that stay open later in the evening? :)
@@atticustay1 I completely agree. Fortunately we now have Black Sheep coffee til 8/9, with 3 or 4 more locations opening hopefully soon in the center of town
Thanks for the tips. The Nice Time bakery used to be an old school bakers and there was a queue at night after all the nightclubs emptied out. You'd place your order and just hand over whatever change you had in your pocket. Ah well.
Oh how I love your cafe videos! each time when I think I might know all good cafes in Edinburgh you come up with a video and I am discovering another place to visit! Thank you. Another nicely hidden cafe, worth visiting is Bam Coffee on Salamander Street. Yes, please do a bakery themed video. Couple of lesser know - I think - bakeries that are worth checking out are The Wee Boulangerie on Clerk street - amazing baguettes, L'Angelou - same, Störtebäcker and their Wee Shop in Corstorphine, Mario Pattiserie in Leith - no bread there but delicious polish doughnuts and crullers.
Thank you so much for the bakery tips! Had to look some of them up and now even more excited to work on that theme in the future! BREAD, I AM ON MY WAY!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Hope you can make it in autumn, I’m sure Scotland will be excited to host you! (And these days I edit all my videos myself! .) But always super excited to get some of Simon’s camera assistance whenever he’s available to provide it ❤️)
Ooh! I went to Hideout Cafe as I was staying in Grassmarket! I loved the collection of tapes and jukeboxes. ❤️ I visited a number of places you’ve recommended in previous videos and they were spot on. Thanks for all you do!
Hi Lovely one thank you for all the great info on the cafes and other valuable topics! You are so good at it and now you have inspired to want to visit Edinburg! Simon your partner is so nice and funny as well. I would love to visit the hobbit it looks so peaceful and wonderful there.Thank you for taking us to such magical places that I would never otherwise know 👍🏻 I
I don’t drink coffee but I like to watch the videos regardless, so many good bakeries in Edinburgh. I would go to the Hideout just for that pain au chocolat, that’s my favorite. Right next to the Quaker Meeting House, hear any bumps on the walls while over there? Wizard of West Bow, diabolical but fascinating story.
How about tea? I think Britain is one of the countries in Europe where not drinking coffee is quite common - as long as you're replacing it with tea, haha .D Just kidding, you probably noticed during your own travels that local cafes are more than happy to cater to non-caffeinators! Will have to look into the spooky story!!
Being in my 30s I am a bit out of touch with the student life! But if i ever get my paws on someone young enough to still be a student, maybe they can tell me more about that lifestyle for a video and take me to their favourite studenty spots!
You know, I have noticed them being "local" but I can't recall if I ever tasted them. I don't believe they have a sit down coffee shop, and they don't seem to be very heavily represented among the local indie cafes 🤔
Yes to the bakery review please! Can you also review cafes/restaurants with best gluten free options? My GF sister is coming to visit and I need to know where to take her
There’s already a full video on this topic on my channel! ❤️ not even very old so you should be able to find it fast in the videos tab on my channel page .)
@@katiehirono9143 No worries! It didn't get much traction when it was first published but it always makes me happy when someone pops up asking about it!

I’ve made a video about this topic specifically couple months ago! I’m sure that if you pop Kakibot Gluten Free into the search box you should find it super easily! .) ✨
Scran on Cockburn street is a great place for a casual dinner! I also like Howie’s, thought it’s a bit further off the Royal Mile on Victoria Street. 😋
Ma! No coffee in Scotia in my time, no chees, no eggs, no aubergine etc. Only produce was sugar, basis of scoia cuisine. Nit enanmoured of scotia cuisine, ecco
I would love a bakery-themed video! :)
Wow wow wow, I love the plants inside the cafe! Plants really do change the space in a really positive way.
You're right, it makes for a really pleasant, calming setting!

Love the map that shows the spots that you highlighted! Thank you
Oh Combs my local! And this is the first time I’ve ever registered what the actual name is even though I’ve been in a hundred times! 😂
That is an impressive lack of attention to detail! .D Hope you're not a detective in your day job!

“Artisan Everything” is pretty spot on! Can’t wait how the area transforms now the tram line has extended!

It’s a shame there a so few cafes that are open after 5ish. It’s more common in Europe

A big part of Edinburgh is the Pub culture. Are you planning on doing any videos on that? Maybe Historic Pubs of the Old Town for starters?
It’s something that’s on our list, as despite not being a drinker I do appreciate the beauty and atmosphere of a good Scottish pub!
