    Dear Math Sensei, I got an equation to find out how many cookies we get for each cupcake. Where x = cupcakes, y = cookies, and total cost = 15 dollars. From the original formula 0.75x + 0.25x = 15, I multiplied each term by 4 and the result is 3x + y = 60, therefore y = 60 - 3x. So for example, if I buy 12 cupcakes (x), I replace the x. I'll have y = 60 - 3(12) ↓ y = 60- 36 ↓ y = 24 cookies. What do you think??? I'm loving your videos!!!

Was information given simply the price of the cupcakes and cookies? It's hard for me to determine if you have properly answered the question with the information that you have given me.

@@mshavrotscanadianuniversit6234 The problem is: Jummat has $ 15.00 to buy cupcakes and cookies at the school's bake sale. Cupcakes are $ 0.75 and cookies are $ 0.25. How many cupcakes and cookies can she buy? Let x = cupcakes at $ 0.75 each, y = cookies at $ 0.25 each, and total cost = $ 15.00, we will have this equation 0.75x + 0.25y = 15. However, cupcakes and cookies are sold by piece and not by crumbles; I multiplied the equation by 4, and I got rid of the decimals. So 4(0.75x) + 4(0.25y) = 4(15), this is 3x + y = 60. In order to know how many cupcakes and cookies Jummat can buy with $ 15.00, we isolate the variable we want to know. For example: I want to know how many cookies(y) she will get if she buys one cupcake (x) with $ 15.00. In this case x = 1 cupcake. So, I put the value into the equation. Equation: 3x + y = 60 ↓ y = 60 - 3x ↓ y = 60 - 3(1) ↓ y = 57. She will get 57 cookies and one cupcake for $ 15.00. What if she wants to buy 8 cupcakes, how many cookies will she get as well if she pays $ 15.00. When x = 8, y = 60 - 3x ↓ y = 60 - 3(8) ↓ y = 60 - 24 ↓ y = 36. Jummat will get 8 cupcakes and 36 cookies for $ 15.00. And that's it, we make a table of values using this equation because the question was "How many cupcakes and cookies can she buy (with $ 15.00)? Is this a better explanation than the previous one? Thank you in advance!!! 🥰🥰🥰
