I have never seen anyone use a clamp to hold wood to router, great idea and looks much safer than holding small pieces by hand . Great video 👍

I like to use whatever I can to make the work safer. I've grown very attached to my fingers over the years😀Just make sure the clamp is on the opposite side you are routing, I usually have to move it at least once, but it only takes a moment. Thank you for your feedback and thank you for watching!

It is a great way to use up scrap. You can also make small change bowls or jewelry holders from them as well. Thank you for comment and for watching!

Thank you for watching! Yes, I suppose it can be therapeutic. Depends on the wood for me. A sense of satisfaction is derived from sanding straight grained wood to a silky smooth surface. Happy turning!

Very nice idea! Inspired by your video I made some myself. Ich drilled the hole for the candle with my drill press, so I didn't have the work with the hot glue.

That's an excellent alternative! I'm just too lazy to drag my drill press out😅 I am happy to hear you were inspired by my video!

Why did you not drill the hole on the Drill Press?

I didn't want to dig it out, and I find my lathe more accurate. But you can certainly use a drill press. Using a drill press would save time, and you wouldn't have to use the hot glue method I used.

I would like to do wood working. What should I purchase first? What is the best book for woodworking for beginners ? I subscribed so I will be lookin for the next video.

Woodworking can be started with nothing more than a tape measure, a hand or circular saw, and a drill/driver.
Woodturning on the other hand, requires at minimum a wood lathe, some woodturning chisels, some kind of sandpaper, safety gear, and of course wood to turn.
Learn To Turn by Barry Gross is a good book to start with. And there are many great resources on UA-cam such as Worth The Effort's turning videos and WOOD magazine's Lathe Basics videos.
      Thanks for watching and subscribing!

Why wouldn’t you just drill the tea light hole on a drill press first and then put it on you chuck, that way you wouldn’t have to glue anything

At the time, my drill press was buried in a corner of my garage. Besides, I prefer drilling on the lathe when possible. I find it more accurate. Also, not everyone has a drill press. The hot glue method makes this project easier for those with a lathe, but without a drill press.
Hot gluing the piece only takes a moment, and a quick blast from a heat gun removes it just as quickly. However, the drill press method would work perfectly fine.

Sound very muffled may need to invest in a better microphone

The poor voice audio can be attributed to the face mask and face shield I wear while turning. Future videos will have voice over instead of live audio. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
