- #152 of "365 Days of Plants" is Rhipsalis pentaptera-a type of jungle cactus that is definitely in my Top 3 favorites of Rhipsalis. I'm very fond of its chunky, accordion-fold stems. Plus it's definitely a very sturdy houseplant!
I'll be touching upon where this plant is native to, how it grows, where I'm growing mine in my home, and other basic care tips.
You can check out more of these videos here and on my IGTV @homesteadbrooklyn.

with the amount of jungle cacti you’ve been posting everyday, i think we need an episode of rhipsalis tour around the house
I recently bumped up the number of plants in my collection to 14 and I’m so happy!
(Make that 18 as of December😂)
I have two Rhipsalis, and I will continue to collect more as I find them, one of the ones I have is well over 15 years old, and started out as a tiny plant in a 4 inch pot and is now in a 6 inch pot and so much larger, I love it so much. Thank you again Summer for this series I love it!
My kind of plant! Very cool 😎👍!!!
thanks for the video Summer, love seeing all the different types of Rhipsalis.
These are a very cool rhipsalis that I haven't seen before! I'll definitely be adding this plant to my list!
The more I look into the variations in the Rhipsalis tribe, the more I like them. I have a Schlumbergera which is closely related but I like the variety of these cacti and how they all seem to look similar if you look closely.
Wow. They're basically a miniature dragon fruit! If I had one I think I would train it to look like a dragon fruit bonsai (:
A wishlist plant!
Ohhh I need this one. Any recommends as to where I can buy cuttings?
I feel that watering plants has alot to do with where you live ..what pot you use... I use mostly terracotta because I love them but also because I can be a heavy waterer so I find that the soil dries faster having to water some of the plants more frequently but I don't mind..:)
I've gone rhipsalis gar gar too!!
up next, SALVIA DIVINORUM!
Weird how ptera means wings and tera means earth, almost the same but opposites
I have this, i put it outside cause it gets millibugs & infest the rest of my plants, i think she might be dead by now cause i forgot to water it.
