Gloria and Miami Sound Machine are the best. Saw them in concert way back before they became big. Gloria Estefan also is a super kind and genuine person. So happy to see this request and reaction Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine have so many great songs.
She was massive star starting in 80s, bringing Latin flavor to pop, lots of slow songs too. Think this is with band still before solo. Her Spanish language of classic Cuban songs is great.
I absolutely adored Gloria Estefan back in the day. I had that tour on VHS and played it to death. Oh and I fancied the cute little trumpet player too. 😆💙
What a Phenomenal Band They were!! Gloria's Voice either swept You off of Your Feet or went Strait to Your Heart. There were some Ballads that They did that had went Strait to My Heart such as "Words get in the Way" and "Anything For You." Every time I Hear them Two Songs, I almost Cry just Thinking about How the Lyrics Speaks right to Me.
Another good choice. This song is all about positive energy. I discovered Gloria in the 90's thanks to Olympic Games in 1996. Since then she has become one of my favourites.
Gloria Estefan and the Miami sound Machine had a lot of good songs in the late 80s like Conga, rhythm is gonna get you, Can’t stay away from you, Don’t wanna lose you
I wish I had seen her live back in the 80s. I did get to see her (and her husband's) protege, Jon Secada, in concert. It was great!!! In 1991, Secada co-wrote and was a backup singer for Gloria's number-one hit "Coming Out of the Dark," inspired by a tour-bus accident involving Gloria Estefan in 1990, in which her back was broken.
What a fun band this was. I got to see them the year this album was released in a small venue in Hampton Beach, NH. High energy. Awesome musicians. Lots of fun, especially when Gloria got a conga line going. Gloria’s voice is so easy to listen to. I hope you get to check out more of their songs. One of my favorite songs ever “The Words Get In The Way” is a beautiful ballad.
...ah, MAN, ***GLORIA ESTEFAN TRIVIA TIME*** !!! .....1, 2 , let's get tooooooo iiittttttttt.... (cont.) - "1-2-3" wasn't even going to be a single release! ...."Surrender" (an LP track) was bumped for "Can't Stay Away From You" ...a huge smash Ballad, then "Anything For You" (another Ballad), became her first #1 Pop hit...THEN, "Surrender" was slated to be released, again...UNTIL, "1-2-3" was remixed, and was liked SO much, it was chosen as the next single! - another thing, "1-2-3" was going to be released LIVE, (because Gloria was on tour), but they went with the Single Remix... - Gloria was being pushed for Solo stardom, and this Album was when they became, 'GLORIA ESTEFAN & MIAMI SOUND MACHINE', a name change, she DIDN'T want! ...and, of COURSE, here's the Top Ten La Glo peaked in, at #3 Pop , August of 1988... 10. Fast Car - Tracy Chapman 9. Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N' Roses 8. Sign Your Name - Terrence Trent D'arby 7. Hands To Heaven -Breathe 6. I Don't Wanna Live Without Your Love - Chicago 5. Roll With It -Steve Winwood
I love "Wrapped" (Videos made in English in Spanish) filmed in Peru, in and around the beautiful, ancient city of Machu Picchu!!! The 2003 single returned Gloria to commercial success!!!
Gloria Estefan.. although not quite the level of Madonna, George, Whitney, etc... was right up there with them. She was definitely one of the big ones. Gloria met her husband, Emilio, in 1975 when he had a band called The Miami Latin Boys. When she joined the group, they changed the name to Miami Sound Machine and became international superstars representing Miami and the Latin sound. Gloria eventually went solo and racked up tons of hits on her own. Gloria and Emilio are Cuban Americans and Gloria has recorded English as well as Spanish language music. Gloria and her husband are known to be friendly with Madonna. Madonna had a house in Miami during the 90's. While touring in 1990, Gloria was critically injured when a semi truck crashed into her tour bus in a snowstorm. She suffered a fractured spine and it wasn't known if she'd ever walk again. It took a year, but she made a full recovery.
So Gloria Estefan was the original crossover star. She inspired the “Latin explosion” in pop music in the late 90’s early 2000’s. She was and is a huge star, so big she’s the latin superstar that they were trying to mold Selena after. As a matter of fact Gloria is mentioned several times in the Selena movie! She was the inspiration for all the Latin artist to try and cross over and become English language stars as well!
Gloria is a legend
Omg do more Gloria Empress!
I always loved this woman's easy-listening voice, her ballads really showcase it.
Saw her 3x

And rocking those leather chaps too!

Great horns, guitar, percussion. Miami Sound Machine was fantastic.

She’s a legend.!!
Great video selection. Gloria was so popular back then. Pure 80s vibe.
Love me some Gloria. She has an album called Miss Little Havana produced by Pharrell that is so good!!!
Gloria & The Miami Sound Machine had some 🔥bops, uptempo & ballads. Her voice is captivating without all the power, but she can sing.
Another good choice. This song is all about positive energy. I discovered Gloria in the 90's thanks to Olympic Games in 1996. Since then she has become one of my favourites.
💯💯

Dont forget Anything For You, Words Get In The Way, Coming Out Of The Dark, Turn The Beat Around and Get On Your Feet.
She had some hits💯
I went to see them in concert in 1987/88. I was young lol. Great happy 80s!

Gloria Estefan is my favorite Diva!! Thanks for this react. Do more Gloria, please!! Maybe Heaven's What I Feel or Don't Let This Moment End.
Ooooh I love this "live"/video version better than the album version! Love Gloria so much, my late father just adored her.
I've always liked "1, 2, 3", it's high energy and extremely up beat. "Bad Boy" is another song by Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine.
Fire bop. !0's across the board. My Father listened to her albums. She lived in Miami and was raised there; she's Cuban woooo! She has many hits.
Gloria has such energetic music. Check out her track Conga

OMG!!! Wow so glad she survived that catastrophy!
