  • You can get a DUI in Ontario for sleeping in your car (if you are impaired). Your car does *not* need to be moving.
    However, the Supreme Court of Canada explained what it takes to beat this type of DUI. I explain how in this video.

    Would putting your keys underneath the vehicle mean you are not in control of the vehicle?

      It's an excellent question, with not a straight forward answer. The totality of the evidence must considered to determine whether someone was, legally, have "care and control" over the vehicle. But this is an important data point that would be considered in the legal analysis. Thanks for much for your comment!
