- Don't be fooled by the term "'MagSafe compatible". It'll fit on your iPhone but it's not the best for your iPhone. When it comes MagSafe Battery packs the difference is stark between compatible chargers and actual "Made For MagSafe" chargers. I'll cover the 5 best MagSafe battery chargers that I've come across (and yes, some are MagSafe compatible because there aren't that many "Made For MagSafe" products).

You should at least make sure you are still reviewing the latest model. Your biggest complaint about the anker product was fixed a while ago.
What about Anker MagSafe 10k battery pack with stand? That’s my all time favorite. Surprised it wasn’t on the list.

Maybe I missed it but will you be doing battery banks that work well with iPhone 15? Not necessarily MagSafe but just good all around battery banks?
Anker has a newer 622 battery pack that has the usb-c on the side.
Love your videos, helped me decide on many purchases with the new 15. Being data driven, I’d love to see a graphic / spreadsheet for how you decided your rankings. Since everyone weighs categories differently, this would bring lots of value to all your work and investigation.

FYI, the Anker has updated theirs and moved the USB port to the side. So far, it's my personal favorite as the magnet is super strong. The Otterbox solution looks really bulky. I'm looking for a second stand for my desktop exclusively that has super fast pass-through or just charging. Want something simple and nicely designed. Thoughts? I tend to like eLago products for their design and build quality.
You're the best man.. 2 years ago I was looking for a screen protector and a colleague reconmended I was your videos first before making the purchase.. got the flolab screen protector and have not regretted the decision since.. this time the ESR powerbank reconmendation, tbh was a little skeptical witht the brand at first but trusted your review and just got it.. no regrets at all.. I used to have the anker but it died on me after about 1.5 years of heavy use.

Anker 620 has an updated version. With charging port on a side and ability to disable charging and use the thing as a stand basically. All those changes make it a way better product

Great channel. One idea for a video: Compare magnet strength for all iPhone 15 cases. It seems almost everyone has weaker magnets this year. How many grams/ounces can they lift?

Hi Aaron, thank you for the reviews! Can you also mention if the battery packs fit the iPhone 12/13 minis in future reviews? Some of them probably don't fit the mini (they extend out lower than the mini). As a person with smaller hands, the minis are more manageable the the larger iPhones.

Is the ESR wallet stand basically the Halolock 5000mah magsafe pack with a wallet stand glued to it? I have both and love both so to have them together in one package would be pretty great

Use it mainly for my S22 Ultra every now & then & my Wife's 13 Pro.
Not that we need it but it's nice to have in a place that looses power alot like here in SE Texas.
I just bought a MagCase for my Ultra & it has a strong magnet. Other than that, I can just lay my phone down on it & it'll charge with almost any case.

You gotta try the new anker maggo line! They have moved the port, made an ultra slim power bank with no stand, and even have a stand version that charges like the otter box. They have some fun colors too :) I’m curious how you’d review them

The Otterbox is nice but way to expensive £149.99 (GBP). My go to for accessories is ESR at the moment, Good value,decent build quality and strong magnets.

What is the orange charging cable and where is it to get? It kinda looks cool!
So the best MagSafe Battery pack IS STILL THE Apple given it's the only one with the right size to just throw on the back and then throw it in your back pocket and not have to think about it (unless you have a purse then get one of the giagators you suggest). iPhone battery is low... throw it on the back and keep going like it isn't there (MagSafe magnets are plenty strong on the Apple)... you can't do that with those massive lumps you suggest. None of my use/work flows change!
Hope they come out with a BLACK USB-C version (to match the darker Pro models) so you can recharge the battery pack faster would be great!
I use my current Apple MagSafe Battery daily so I don't have to leave my phone on a MagSafe charger or plugged in... I can just keep going. Great under appreciated product in real world use.
Also as someone else said... there is no more iPhone mini... make the battery packs the width of the iPhone 15 so they can be slimmer in thickness!
The pitaka magez battery is very pocketable too. Also otterbox makes a MUCH thinner one, but it may be discontinued.
The Anker battery pack has been updated btw. The port is on the side now.
Also the magnet seems pretty strong, might be stronger than before.

The apple battery pack it’s actually great. People use it wrong isn’t meant to charge your phone from 0 to 50 or whatever but actually it’s meant to maintain your battery at 80% for very long time

I have an important question I hope you can answer.
Bought a super thin magsafe grip stand that claims that you can still charge your phone without removing the kickstand. This is true but the magsafe puck tends to feel a little warmer than it normally would if I removed the kickstand first.
Is it safe to charge with it on? The grip stand is made from PC material with N15 magnets.
There are a couple of companies out there that claim you can keep the kickstand on while using the magsafe charging puck.
Phone stays cool...just the puck feels a Lil warmer... which could be expected and it's to my understanding that magsafe charging pucks tend to get a little warmer than normal QI charging anyway??
You should look at the Anker 622. Better magnet and the plug is on the side so you can use in StandBy mode and pass-through charging.
Anker 633 has been my favorite of any one I've used so far

Anker 622 has an updated version which has Type C charger on the side and heats up less as well. I wish you used that one instead for testing.

Is it considered boring in 2023 if you don't cut to so many angles so fast and slow down? I haven't watched your videos in a while and although I do appreciate the content it feels too fast and like an infomercial. I wouldn’t mind a magsafe powerbank but why oh why doesn’t the apple one have a double magsafe? You know, on both sides? So the powerbank goes in between the phone and the magsafe wallet?
Do any of these get recognised by iOS as a device? Will the phone show the battery status of these banks like they would for the Apple battery pack?

You used the old Anker MagSafe battery pack and not the upgraded version which came out a couple of months ago. I think you should just remake the video to get the most up to date products.

The anker batteries were updated to put the charge port on the side with some other improvements.

IMO ESR has been killing it with accessories of late. I wonder where their clear case ended up in your rankings. I picked up their case & charger already, getting the 5000mah version of the power bank to add to it. I said I'd never switch to apple, magsafe is one of the things that got me to move (and USBC among other things).
ESR HaloLock 10k mAh has consistently overheated on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I told ESR, who sent a replacement, and told me to keep the old one. Great customer service, although the replacement overheated too.

Soo what's up with otterbox being number one? I know three people that have them and they ditched them for anler and esr within a month tops due to multiple reasons that you either lied about or somehow got one that does everything it says.

It’s Anker 622, not 620. Charging speed is less of a concern for me. I’d prefer something thin, light when I am out and about.

Because I use a Fokimdo magnetic battery pack (not branded Made for MagSafe). It's 5000mAh and has a kickstand that doubles as a hand hold loop and no matter how long it sits in my backpack, it is ready with a charge (not always 100% tho). Meanwhile, a cheap nameless pack I bought off of Temu just for kicks, that's a ripoff of the Apple battery pack continues to discharge long after you remove your phone from it. It's always DOA. So I was wondering how common this is?

I think the Apple MagSafe is sort of perfect. All its failings is kind of good. The wireless charge speed is good enough to keep it from heating up both devices. Any faster, the hotter they'll get.
If you charger both to 100%, and connect them together, they both last longer throughout the day. I've had my iPhone for 10 hours and came home with 90% on the phone and 30% on the battery.

I just bought a Xiaomi wireless battery charging set pretty cheap price. It has literally identical function as the otter set. The biggest fear I have with wireless charging is the heat. And I feel xiaomi did a pretty good job. Only problem I feel is the charging speed.
