I'm the guy who sold the STI. Evan it was awsome meeting you. To his community . You guys are welcome I could of sold someone else for little more money but I knew his fans would to see this car. And watch his series. One of the hardest decisions I had to make was selling this car. Me and my dad RIP went to Texas to get and had some an amazing adventure. It took me about 2 years to finally sell this car. So this cars me alot to me. 🍻 cheers Evan!!!! Cant wait to see what you do to the car!!!!
When Victoria started crying, it made me tear up. This is all i could ever dream of. A shop, a house, a family and a wife that is as supportive as yours is. Youre an inspiration. This is highly motivating.
This video just proves how important cars actually are in life and how they can have so much meaning I’ve been in the same Situation for years ago I had an old square body Chevrolet when I first met my wife that I sold the truck to get something better to travel to go see her in and Christmas of last year I finally got to bring that truck back home congratulations on bringing back a big piece of your life
Your wife's reaction made this for me. I didn't follow your channel when you had this but feeling your emotion getting it back then seeing her got me all emotional. Happy for you man.
Victoria is the real definition of a ride or die. She has to be the best wife of any UA-camr out there. She holds it down for Evan for real. Not many women out there like her and I wish her and the family the best
Brought tears to my eyes, I’m so happy that you got it back! The reason I started watching this channel. This was my dream car because of you! Thanks for being you!
This one got me in the feels. I was watching when you first met TJ an when it blew up and when you sold it. You have been through a hell of a lot and have grown so much as a person. Through the hard times you have grown. I think a great throwback video would be a raw driving video or taking it on an autocross day or even a date with Victoria. Either way I'm glad to see the red STI again.
Today I have a 2012 Dark Grey Metallic WRX Premium. I love the hatches and I'm about to buy a 2013 STI Hatch in Worl Rally Blue. You're the reason I love these cars and seeing it again on the channel made me smile so big. You're different now, older and much more prepared for life. You deserve this!
Besides the fact that I saw this car first when I found your channel, back in my young teen years, this car’s design is arguably one of my fav. Hatchbacks are sick, and I’m stoked to see another UA-camr build one
This made me tear up. I just recently sold my 08 hatchback wrx that I had for 5 years and traded for a 2020 sti. I found your channel because it was my first manual car and I found your manual tutorial video in your hatchback and have been watching you ever since. I went through my highschool years in that car and needless to say it was a rough time, but I loved that car and feel so emotionally attached to it. Cars are funny like that, a big box of metal can mean so much to you.
Man... no way. Balling my eyes out. I can't imagine the instant flow of stories & memories that you got in your head after seeing it in so long. It's crazy how the path of life aligned you back to the subie. I got soo happy when I saw the video title. Proud of you for all your life goals and accomplishments. Victoria's reaction was so pure. Much love & let the mods begin🤘🏻
Wow… i found out of tj hunt from your video and became my favorite youtuber. Found love for Subaru from watching your videos. @15 i bought a wrx wrb hatch because how much i fell inlove. Not only was it emotional seeing your subie again but also bringing back my own memories from that chapter of my life. Where i only felt at peace with cars and that’s passion came from you. Thank and congratulations cant wait to see it through the end.
Keep it as is. No wide body. I started watching you in the scion then the subie. Don’t sell it. Clean it up and do all maintenance and call it a day . God bless
I can totally relate to the hatred for owning one. Got mine at 17 in my senior year of Highschool (11 wrx) and heard non stop mommy and daddy’s money even from the girl I was with at the time despite me literally working my ass off to be able to get it. Got an incredible job about a year after graduating and built the car. Unfortunately blew it up last year in the spring and regretfully sold it as I thought I had more desire to focus on my 5.0. Hope to one day be able to buy back the car or atleast find a clean 11-14 sedan sti and re build where I had it. Sometimes you just have to make choices you think are best then and find a way back in the future, glad to see this car back!
Hopeful you get it back I had a bugeye sti when I was 19 at uni and got nothing but hate still have it today and am 26 now, get nothing but praise about it nowadays 😅
Literally this week I was about to pull the trigger on my old built sti… I sold it because of finances and the fact of it taking up so much of my time and honestly breaking me down mentally because I wasn’t able to get it perfect. I was about to pull the trigger but after thinking long and hard I decided not to get it back. I’m still not where I should be and buying it back I feel would be a bad idea. As bad as I want it, I know the time isn’t right. This video hit me right in the feels
Context: I'm not a Even Shanks regular viewer and pop in from time to time & as a '21 STI owner and knowing the connection I have with my car, I can somewhat feel what Evan is going through. I can tell he's holding back a lot of emotions during a business deal. That STI rumble is something special and it's also my first car that I got back into after 20 years of leaving the car scene to focus on education, saving for a home and having 2 beautiful kids. Fast forward to 2021 - got the STI and back into the car scene and loving here. Subaru scene in Canada is amazing
I can relate man. I know not an sti but I had purchased a 2016 wrx back in April of 2016. I sold it to a guy locally since I had 5 cars and didn’t drive it much and the value was almost what I paid for it when new. So I sold it make that money work for me instead of existing in a car. I told the guy if he ever wanted to sell it to give me a call and I’ll buy it back. Now fast forward 6 months, I sold everything since they were projects I bought for cheap, fixed, and made money on. I miss that wrx! Called it ole blue 😢
@@Trex6767 someone just hit me in my 2013 wrx a couple hours back and i miss it already. i'm like 80% sure it's totaled and not sure what i'm gonna do. i loved it so much and just replaced the clutch.
between the feelings I know you are feeling, your wife's reaction and the throw back clip of you and TJ.... I found my self seriously struck. In a good way. Guys like you and TJ honestly saved my life. Of course I made the moves to better myself, but it was the videos that you guys put out over the years that constantly give me motivation. Even on things that have nothing to do with cars. I am so excited to watch you build this. Congrats man!
This car was what brought me to your channel when I was 14 im 24 now and honestly I'm you got it back cause I know the history of this car and what it means to you and it's the reason I got my sti I'm so happy for you EVAN:')
This is solid proof that cars can hold a lot of sentimental value for some people. You become attached to them, take care of them, make memories with them and experience new adventures. And they do help you through tough times,2020 was the worst year of my life as a friend I dearly cared about left me without trying to say goodbye or wanting to see me anymore. I’ve never felt such pain and anger in my life,my mom knew I was devastated and took me for a ride in my 2019 Wrx to make me feel better, and it worked. As I’m sitting in the car,a song came on and it felt like it was telling me that everything would be ok and that I would get through this. To this day I still love that Subaru,it will always be there for me when I need some therapy or some alone time. I’m glad to see you back in the car Evan and your advice has inspired me to be myself regardless. Thank you ❤
Congrats!! I remember being in middle/high school watching the STI videos, and now here I am in college/ etc. and still watching you, and you have your STI back again. Congrats on everything man :) Blessings
This brought a tear to my eyes when I saw Victoria broke a tear. I literally remembered watching your videos LITERALLY 10 YEARS AGO. I’m so happy that it’s back.
currently 19 and contemplating selling my headache of a car that i love and hate at the same time, this video really helped me decide on whether or not i should sell it. love ya man
This video honestly brings me so much happiness to see. I have a 2018 WRX that me and my dad found and got for me last year, and something about it is just so special. Sure it’s not the fastest, most expensive, or craziest in the world, but in the span of one year I already have made so many memories with it. Memories I’ll never forget. And what’s even more special is that the car world has grown into such an accepting place that you can modify a car however you please and they’ll all be special for a different reason. Seeing Evan bring his subie back home reminded me that no matter how far you grow in life and how much you accomplish, sometimes the best things in life have been there from day one. Even seeing Victoria emotional just shows that that car played such a role in both their lives it’s heart warming to see. Evan, you truly do inspire me to do anything I can think of, and I hope someday I can accomplish the things you have. Thank you for showing us all that perseverance, hard work, and caring for your health will make life limitless❤
I started watching your channel right around that time when you sold the Sti for the Jeep . & too see you get it back is so inspiring . Crazy how time flies . I also have so much respect for you & appreciate the fact that you support mental health .
I have never had a car before because I just turned 16 but I hope I can get something and then love it this much i am in love with everything cars and I want to be able to work on them and everything that's my dream job and who know maybe a youtube channel involving my car that would be sick thanks Even for everything your videos help me with my anxiety a lot.
Lowkey got a little emotional half way thought this video, I've been following your channel since before you got rid of the car and throughout it all you were one of my biggest inspirations to start making videos. Glad you finally got the car back.
I've been following you since before you had this... Seeing this again, and seeing Victoria's reaction actually made me choke up 🙈 honestly the first thing you should do is take her, and Victoria out on a date. Love the content, so happy you're back, and love the daily advice! You help more people than you know brother. ❤️
I wasn’t around at this stage of your life but getting to know you over the past year and a half 2 years of watching I’m really happy for you and can’t wait to see more!
I bought my first civic back a while ago, the first car i swapped and did everything on. Bought it back as a shell, and wished i couldve redone it the way i wanted to. Sadly had to get rid of it again due to circumstances and its in a scrap yard now. Hurts my soul. Glad you could get back to yours and drive it again
The memories really flow with this one, I remember watching you as a small channel and never thinking anymore of it than just a guy driving a car and now you’ve grown to what you have now and it’s just amazing.
I learned how to drive a manual by watching the videos you filmed in your car. About a year ago I had the chance to get into a 2008 STi, and gd if your comments aren't spot on. Community can be incredibly toxic, and as I learned when driving it from Utah to Washington for a move, it's not a good car for someone with anxiety - I was worried the entire way about something would go wrong. Glad to see you have your OG car back in your life, and I'm incredibly stoked for you.
What a blast from the past. It’s almost a triumph of progression from the qualms of your past. I would definitely recommend recreating any old photos you guys have had with it.
Hear me out. Wide body . Keep it red. Tint. Wheels. Built engine with big turbo intercooler etc. just keep it you . Be you . Regardless it will look sick like the rest of them!!! And also love that the cars mean a lot to both of you and I'm glad you show that and really mean it so some people can possibly understand how a car or truck can change their life!
This is amazing. Personally, I would leave it as is and enjoy it. Repair, fix, replace anything that needs it inside and out but keep the exterior look the same. Make the car as close to 100% as it realistically can be and enjoy it for what memories it gave you in the past. I don't see the appeal of doing a ton of extra stuff to it but rather keep it, enjoy it, and maybe some day you can hand it down to your kid as their first car. 🙂
A month ago I sold my 2006 STi after blowing up the second built block BUT that was the hardest decision I ever did. I had that car for 12 years. Seen your video I will do my absolute best to try get it back. I am so exited for you and happy to see the OG Subie back on the Chanel.
I found your channel when you first got this car. The nostalgia and the feels are so real… So looking forward to the build. One request; bring the old intro back!
Been hoping this would happen ever since you traded it in. So glad you bought it back! A STI hatch was a dream car of mine since the first time I saw one and I’ve had my 2011 for almost 2 years now. I’d be lying if I said this car didn’t have an impact on that💯
Excited for the build but I love the stock body and stance. I’m all for big turbo and such but I think rather than a wide body keep it similar to how it is now. I’ve always love it’s track like setup
Evan, I’ve been watching you for the past 8 years and you are a true inspiration. This car hits different as it takes me back to simpler times in life for me
This makes me so happy. Remember when I was in gr9 when I first saw it. Fell in love. Was sad when you traded it in for the SRT. So happy you got it back.
This video has me tearing up when your wife started tearing up, wishing, hoping and praying to God that one day I’d get a chance own my first GSX eclipse again, the car that started it all for me 😢 dang it Shanks, I didn’t wanna cry but now look at me… I’m happy for you man!
I think I speak for many when I say I appreciate your vulnerability. These cars keep us in line, and keep us chasing that dream, whatever it is. Glad you could get this car back dude.
Well dang it, you’re making me want my WRX hatch back. Same situation, my first car, all my wife and my first dates, had it our first several months of marriage, then sold it for bigger and better things. Now I miss it.
Just went last Saturday and bought a replica to my fist car . 2000 civic dx had my first in 2016 . I’m 24 now and can afford all the things I wanted back then. Can’t wait to see how this transforms and or can’t wait to see the content created !!
Man this video made me emotional and seeing the subi back in the channel has brought lots of memories. Please keep it how it is cause true OG remember the old shank squad 👌🏼
I remember finding your channell pretty much for this car ... I remember seeing the video of you selling it. I've been wondering if it would ever pop back up again, I'm in the UK so would never have actually seen the car in person. Can't believe it's back, can't wait to see you enjoy it again x
This is amazing man ! I felt this, wish I can find my STI since i sold my IS300, planning on getting the same wagon soon to be back in the Subie life. Congrats !
Dude, I have a 2013 wrx hatchback. I know exactly what u are saying. The connection I have to this car and what it gave me is something unexplainable. I even got rid of my final edition evo over the wrx. You make me wanna drive her right now.
This video really inspired me to keep working hard to make my car something Ive been dreaming of instead of giving up on it, just by the way you guys react to seeing it for the first time in so long connects with me so well. Thanks for all of the great content and the great things you do.
Thanks Evan you teach me a great advice am going through aloy right now and i have a bike a BMW and i ride it when i dont feel good and you teached me to not care about what other people are talking. Thanks Evan for teaching me that in a moment of depresion
Congratulations on getting your car back I wish I could say there was a chance I’d see my cars that are gone again but sadly 90% of them are gone due to major accidents that weren’t my fault
I feel like I'm back in the past of old years omg O.O is this real life?? I found your channel a few videos in with your Subaru because I wanted one back in the day man this is brining back memories lol
I'm so happy rn. I started watching you way back cause of this car now I own a 2011 sti sedan. Felt every part of the intro... Subaru will drive you nuts hahaha. Glad to see you got it back mane!
Tried to find my first car I sold about 8 or 9 years ago but zero luck it was a white 96 eclipse rs automatic sold to someone from Texas and im from Minnesota. That thing was my baby and now probably gone forever. Rip old gal
Thanks for this vid Evan, I really needed that talk you gave at the near the end of the video, I also have ocd and anxiety and also am a car enthusiast and I've been on the edge of debating if I want to do a channel and the same exact thoughts that you explained that it isn't our job or to not worry about other people is the push I needed to move forward with starting it. First needa get my ocd and anxiety in check, and then decide on a car that'll start the channel...Car parts be expensive lol
Evan it's good to see this car back again, I have been watching your UA-cam channel for 4 years now .I started watching from the 9 grade and I'm in the 12 gade now and I want to thank you for advice you give us cause it helped me alot and I'm happy for you ,keep up the good work man, you make our day when you post and must love to you and the family
Love it Evans. I remember I started watching your channel because I wanted an STI hatch so bad (still do lol) but got a Z instead. Couple years ago, I sold my Z to bringing some cash to buy my first house, and like you, I found some nice success early on my life and was misunderstood even by family members, but anyway, now years later, if I could find my old Z, I’d buy it again and build it how I wanted to back then. Can’t wait to see what you do with it ❤
I fucking love it! The old Subie! This car is why I subscribed. I hope the subaru community treats you better. I really do. I can't wait for the next videos on this bad girl!
This video is so tear jerking in a good way I have a 2000 firebird and that car needs so much work but it was my first working car that got me through so much pain just sitting in it taking midnight drives just letting the car take me to a different more peaceful place really saved me. Also got me back and forth from the hospital when my daughter was born 3 months premature most people don't realize just how much a car can be a part of you so with that being said I'm so happy you found her and she's back in your loving caring hands again
I haven't watched in a long time but I think I need to start again. the second I saw the thumbnail I dropped what I was doing so I could watch this. I know it's you and your car but this was super emotional. I hope to be in your shoes some day
mannnnnnnnn... years ago, I learned to drive stick thanks to you & this car. what a great surprise & just in time for your 10 years with it! congrats Evan!
You bought this car when I was 6. I wish I was old enough to watch your videos back then and be known as an OG. I only found you when you built your sister's focus.
I'm the guy who sold the STI.
Evan it was awsome meeting you.
To his community . You guys are welcome I could of sold someone else for little more money but I knew his fans would to see this car. And watch his series.

glad im not the only one
Feeling the same 😢
I don’t think you’ll ever realize how inspiring it is to see you get this beaut back. Showing her all the accomplishments. Let’s see your dream build
We all need just a pure raw driving video of the whole family in the Subaru driving around town ❤️
Agreed!
the best dad wagon vids were the driving ones

This video just shows me how fast time has passed. We all take it for granted sometimes. Just wow.
This video made me tear up I remember watching this car back when I was 14/15 now I’m 23 and it motivates me sm
I’d be lying if I said this car didn’t have an impact on that💯
So glad to see this car back it’s one of my favorite cars you had on your channel!
Excited for the build but I love the stock body and stance. I’m all for big turbo and such but I think rather than a wide body keep it similar to how it is now. I’ve always love it’s track like setup
That’s so cool, your wife’s reaction was the best ! Love seeing this car back on the channel
Can't wait to see what you do with the old car. Started watching as when you had that car
Omg gosh this brings me back watching you at 12 years old everyday after school!!! Love this man!!
You go through cars like I go through socks.
I don't remember what made me subscribe to your channel years ago, but it definitely had something to do with your subie. Glad to see it back home!
if the next video isn’t a civic video i’m unsubscribing
Onggggg
Wow this brings me way back! I started watching when you got the TC but this STI is what made me fall in love with your channel
That sti brought me to your channel. Nice to have it back
Been watching since before you sold this car and i gotta say when she started i got goose bumps! Much love bro super happy for u
Congrats !
Thanks for bringing the car back Evan!❤ This 🚘 is the reason I started watching you on UA-cam.
Still driving my wrx hatch I got when watching your videos on your hatch. Oh how times have changed
I haven’t been following in sooo long but this is why I started following you when I had one….. Everyone of these episodes I’ll be watching
Been here since this car haha, started following you when you had 12k subs bro!! You’ve come a long way, keep smashing it man!!
I'm so happy rn. I started watching you way back cause of this car now I own a 2011 sti sedan. Felt every part of the intro... Subaru will drive you nuts hahaha. Glad to see you got it back mane!
Glad you are able to get it back watching your how to drive manual videos made me want a STI and learn how to drive
BIG TURBO , BODY KIT . Do everything you wanted to do but couldn’t man ! Your going to love it even more !
We love you man, and happy you got the daddy-wagon back
I’ve literally been watching since the sti days and finally bought me a 2011 Red wrx just over year ago I’m so hyped and def buyin that shirt
I'm excited to see TJ and you together in a vlog.
I can't wait for the next videos on this bad girl!
this really makes me miss. The first car i ever wrenched on did modifications to. Made it mine really miss it.
Man this car got me into your channel years ago! So glad to see it back!
So awesome to see this, I was watching you during you scion days and got to watch you buy the Subie the first time around! Kinda a full circle moment!
I only found you when you built your sister's focus.
this is a major throwback, have fun with it.
Yesssss even happy she's back remember her from the days of the parking lot vlogs and ppl alarm were going on 😂😂😂😂
This video makes me all teary.... Beautiful that this car came back to you! You tought me how to drive manual with this car...
