I absolutely love how you added your first laps, All my Motorsport experience has been in road racing and autocross so I have no idea how to drift yet, I’ve been putting in hours on the sim and I’ll get the occasional good corner but it’s so difficult to learn, I imagine not being able to feel the car move in a sim can make it difficult too but thanks Evan for adding the first laps!
You’re a legend brother! I love the fact you are showing us your progress and you are staying positive! You will get there bro! We are all here for you!
Just don't compare yourself to others so many other youtubers been drifting forever and not everything comes easy.. your only driving against yourself first few times I ever went out was beyond discouraging.. seeing you go after it in an realistic car is awesome too so many people have the perfect setup and it hinders what flaws they have driving wise keep up.the good work
Just keep drifting man. If you love something don't let anyone make you stop. Adam gets hate all day that he can't drift. Look where he is after many years of pushing and not listening to hate. Keep pushing Evan and we will keep watching.
Super inspiring bro. Dont give up, keep it going and im sure you'll get to where you wanna be. And as far as spending tons of time and money on your car and having it take a big dump on ya, im sure we can all relate. Especially with these old ass Nissans. I have one and I know that it is the best feeling in the world when everything works and its so heartbreaking when it doesn't. Just gotta keep moving forward (tj moment)
countless times I've worked my ass off strictly for disappointment. I bring up my frustration and get told: "that's life as an adult" which makes me sit there and think about the negatives. Thank you Evan for this video, you've helped me and countless others over time with their internal anxiety and you're doing nothing but helping more the farther you delve into how you fix things, yourself included. Keep on keepin on fellas/fellettes
Dont give up, its a new car, first test event and you need to be realistic and know that you are going to break down at one point with a new build. Keep the great work and videos!
Even though you had anxiety, you were still out there trying and doing the best you can. Life can absolutely suck the jelly out of your donut. But you were still out there just wanting to drive. You got this dude.
One helpful tip, trunk mounted batteries never get a full charge and they will die prematurely guaranteed. I've never had one last. You gotta have one heck of an alternator and some damn good 00 guage cables. Also run the ground to the enginebay helps alot.
Man do I feel you and relate to that feeling of " no matter how hard i try!..." since I turned 18 i really had to go through my "growing up" process and that's made me realize a lot of things in life will get you down and make you self doubt and absolutely push you to your mental limit. I've had issues with family and borderline self harm. Luckily I had enough mental will to bring myself back from it and an amazing wife who has kept me sane and supported me. I know for a fact you've had WAY more and WAY harder struggles than me but it will get better. It definitely helps to take some time and just sit there while you process and think. Without any action. Just allow your brain and heart to communicate and work it out
As others have said, I am also glad you added your first laps. Evan, I seriously relate to you as well with the whole anxious feeling while trying to drive! As well as having OCD, I just feel relieved to know Im not alone and that treatment is possible. Thank you Evan!
You getting you there ALL BY YOURSELF shows some strength! You always need to remember. No one started out perfect. You have to practice and believe in yourself!
I think I’m speaking for all of us here, we are all so incredibly proud of you. Overcoming what you had to overcome with your anxiety is so awesome to see. Glad to see you back out there brother! Keep at it!
Gotta keep things relative, a bad day of drifting is absolutely not a bad day. You were at the track, getting out there being surrounded by likeminded peeps and cool cars.
Drifting is one of those things where all the stars have to align, the car needs to be sound, the track/conditions need to be right and you need to be in the right headspace. I think the heat ruined things for both you and the car Evan, but look at the bright side, you got yourself back behind the wheel and went out there and tried your best! That's all you can do, now you know what you need to do to improve the car and yourself for next time! Baby steps my friend, you got this!!
i love seeing videos like this where your relearning how to drift. i wanna start drifting my miata but i'm scared cus i know i'm gonna suck and i get that feeling where people are judging me. but seeing your videos makes me realize no one really cares and i should just get out there and learn. really inspiring
You did great for your first time out in years. Also I feel you w the ocd ab loose dangling bits. Can never focus on driving w all that. Happy that this didnt end up beinf your last track day! Cant wait for more S13 content. Keep it up’
Really enjoyed the breakdown commentary here. Props to you for getting past the anxieties here. Fav content is when the cars are put to the test for what they’re meant for and learning from them! So excited for more! Also the compiled edit into the advice was FIRE 🔥 So good.
Loved this video, and I love seeing you overcome this shit even more. It's beautiful dude don't ever think it's not. Such a great video even if it wasn't the video you may have wanted.
You keep saying it’s okay…nah man, you fn killed it bro! Proud of you for getting back out there. Bring some friends next time to get rid of your anxiety even more. You can all make fun of each other and it will just lighten the mood. Doing great man❤
I know exactly how you feel, I just spent 4 years rebuilding my car… I got it back on the road this summer and it’s been nothing but broken parts and new problems. I’m just praying that one day it’ll be reliable again…
Dangggggg Evan is out drifting!!!!! That's sick dude. I'm really really glad you've found enjoyment in different forms of driving your cars. That's the dream ultimately. Be able to do the things we actually build our cars for and have fun doing it. Keep being an inspiration.
Bro F the haters. Seeing the journey you go through drifting will be amazing to watch. Will you come back to OK for more drift events? Cant wait to see that video!!
Man!! Woah woah woah I mean, I am in an FSAE team here in Spain, and when we go testing with the new car, maybe it doesn't even make a lap. This is the first drift event in years, with a new car you know little, without a tune you trust... I mean... It's a shakedown! And you managed to do 5 good laps! That's quite some data, and you found problems that needed to be solved! That's good! I think It was quite good event tho. Some youtube shit may see like they do not have problems at all, but that's not true. New car, shakedown, 5 decent laps, problems found, great! Now the car is better, and ready for the next! Maybe expectations are really high from UA-cam shit, but i think is was quite a sucessful day tho.
We are all extremely proud of you even please keep your head up and look to the future. Your doing better and better every day. We all love you and are so proud❤
You're an inspiration man. I've been watching since you left for California. Keep it up brother. From a fellow DFW boi. Also, I think you should spend more time with friends, and or make new ones. Friends can really add to your life and your channel. I just like to think of Dustin Williams when he goes to Japan to hang out with Masa, Albo and the guys.
That Houston comment is relatable 🤣 I visited for the first time in august from here in Alaska and it was 100 and super humid. I went down to ride a motorcycle all around and Galveston so it was extra Spivey hot in gear 🤣
From a bike racer here.. I’ve had those days and always remember you need time.. if it was at all easy everyone would do it and you wouldn’t enjoy it.. seat time and more seat time and keep faith in yourself
Lets be honest. I've only drifted in Assetto and watched a lot of pov from James Deane, so I'm nobody. However, these are some of the things I learned, and maybe it helps a bit: 1- Muscle memory is key. So drive drive and drive. 2- Hydro is good for draining speed with left foot braking before a corner. 3- Hydro is good to open the radious of the drift mid corner, this will help with linking the course. 4- You look unconfortable in the car, (seating position). That's key for the muscle memory. Not much more dude! It's good to see you progressing and having fun! Lets goo
Big props to you for posting. Took major balls on your part cause you had to fight off everything in your head saying not to. It’s why we love you ❤️❤️❤️ now move back to NWA ;)
Yo, there is no need for anyone to act like they were born with skill out the gate. No, we all have to learn how to walk before we can run. I suck at a lot of things, just admit it first, then move forward and enjoy it. The childish nature of learning and improving is some of the most fun you will ever have.
Got some seat time in a car that hadnt been completely shaken down or tuned. I think you felt it out and should be able to tell if youre down with the S chassis and what you wanna fix while also having time to get it checked properly now
You should colab with tj whenever you drift again and dont care about what everyone else says your far in life to care about what ppl think the ones that you should let get to you is the good ppl that make ypu feel great nd see that you’re doing good regardless of what ppl say keep ypur head up
Track prep makes all the difference and proper voltage. While the car was running simply removing positive wire from the battery that will tell you if your alternator is running good or not. The car should stay on not shut off.
Getting back into drifting with some random kids sr 240 it’ll definitely have some kinks to sort out haha, but some time and money it’ll be perfect, sometimes you pay all the money and don’t even get out to drive and then have to spend more money on your car when you get home haha, you got it keep at it not sure if you have a sim but it’ll help a lot
Eesh. The cons of buying used projects. Just bought a car and the engine decided to develop rod knock. TAKE CARE OF YOUR CARS IF YOU'RE GOING TO SELL IT People! Ha. Regardless, you did well for getting back into it. Proud that you're back on the track. Building cars are cool but it's when you see the fruits of your labor that makes it worth while. Do it to it Evan!
Your pretty good drifting you just need to get those Manjis in between to link everything better but good driving for sure especially since you havent drifted in a while
Hey don’t feel down or say sorry!!! It’s racing/practice stuff. Used old car will have some problems . Plus it’s the first time to take it to the track so you are knowing that car. It’s all good, just fixed and put some seat time
Bro u need a buddy with u for track days they helps u out with ur car me and my mates here in aus always did it there always be one mate per car that re fuels changes tyres checks the oil and talks u through strange car sounds lol. 🙋♂️🇦🇺
last weekend uhaul mess up my reservation. i had to borrow my friend trailer to drop of my car at the track and came back to get his car. 2 days event and my car didnt even last 10 laps.
At the end of the day, things take time. I have issues with anxiety as well but sometimes you just need to try. If it doesn't go the way you wanted, at least you tried it. Still enjoyed watching you ripping around the place. Car took a beating though, it was tits!!!

Good shit Evan. As short as it was, I’m sure you learned a ton. Not just your driving but about changes you need to make to your car
Muscle memory is kicking in, all u need is patience and practice and ur gonna be on par with some pro drifters in no time. We're cheering on u !
I'm cheering him on as well but, on par with pro drifters in no time might be a bit of an exaggeration lol.
😂😂😂😂😂 yeah that’s never happening
Ever

I love that you show growth through your channel. Failure are just personal lessons. You’re absolutely killing it.
get out and drive! you did it, congrats homie! love it
You’re a legend brother!
I love the fact you are showing us your progress and you are staying positive!
You will get there bro! We are all here for you!
Proud of you to get out to the track again Evan! Pacience is the key
Just don't compare yourself to others so many other youtubers been drifting forever and not everything comes easy.. your only driving against yourself first few times I ever went out was beyond discouraging.. seeing you go after it in an realistic car is awesome too so many people have the perfect setup and it hinders what flaws they have driving wise keep up.the good work
Wonderful job Evan! It’s a process and I love that you show that process, the ups and downs of it! Keep it going man, I appreciate what you do!
Just keep drifting man. If you love something don't let anyone make you stop. Adam gets hate all day that he can't drift. Look where he is after many years of pushing and not listening to hate. Keep pushing Evan and we will keep watching.

For sr20s you need to have the alternator (battery light) connected. If that's not connected, the battery will just drain.
i love seeing videos like this where your relearning how to drift. i wanna start drifting my miata but i'm scared cus i know i'm gonna suck and i get that feeling where people are judging me. but seeing your videos makes me realize no one really cares and i should just get out there and learn. really inspiring

Also yes life poops on all of us sometimes. It's all about how we respond to it. Keep up the great work.
Evan keep working at it and don’t give up . That’s part of learning - making good progress specially after not drifting for 3 yrs
Bro F the haters. Seeing the journey you go through drifting will be amazing to watch. Will you come back to OK for more drift events? Cant wait to see that video!!

Good job Evan. You did great after a 3 year break. The hardest part is getting back out the and you did it congrats.
Really proud of you even love to see you enjoying yourself in a car no matter what your skill level or car is doing stay positive brother!!!
We are all extremely proud of you even please keep your head up and look to the future. Your doing better and better every day. We all love you and are so proud❤

First thing I notice is the heavy use of e brake , and its positioning being rather far from the steering wheel
Proud of you for working through the anxiety bro 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Dude. I follow you from the early days.
Behind the wheel, you are freaking good!
Drifting and mostly autocross, ¡you rock!
Keep it up!

Watching you from Norway. I think you are doning awesome in everything you put your mind into. Not completely the same story over her. Im impressed 👍💪
Yo, there is no need for anyone to act like they were born with skill out the gate. No, we all have to learn how to walk before we can run. I suck at a lot of things, just admit it first, then move forward and enjoy it. The childish nature of learning and improving is some of the most fun you will ever have.
Keep your head up! You are doing awesome! Progression take 1 day at a time. Love your content no matter what it is. Stay up king!
Every pro was once a beginner bro... you just need to practice and keep at it ... we support you and look forward to more drifting videos
Got some seat time in a car that hadnt been completely shaken down or tuned.
I think you felt it out and should be able to tell if youre down with the S chassis and what you wanna fix while also having time to get it checked properly now
Love watching drifting videos like this 🔥🔥
Way to bring yourself back up to excitement man, you'll get it👍
Drift daddy is BACCKKK! Great to see you out there again Evan.
Inspiring brother your doing great don’t let the negativity consume the positivity
Loved seeing you at OMC and you were killing it keep up the grind
more drifting and more drift cars :) glad to see this content back
You rock Evan, getting me motivated to do more driving.
I really love this video and showing us that not everyone is perfect. ❤
i was there when you came to houston last time, i still remember how much of a bad time you were having and i felt awful seeing you struggle that day
What a real video man raw emotions
You should colab with tj whenever you drift again and dont care about what everyone else says your far in life to care about what ppl think the ones that you should let get to you is the good ppl that make ypu feel great nd see that you’re doing good regardless of what ppl say keep ypur head up
You're the best man, keep going
Give it some more seat time bro.u will get there.lots of love and respect for being honest
Track prep makes all the difference and proper voltage. While the car was running simply removing positive wire from the battery that will tell you if your alternator is running good or not. The car should stay on not shut off.
Like you said, you live and learn. However short a drift day is or how long the drift day is. It's all experience you need and obtain to get better.
Most struggle when they first start something. All about learning from mistakes and keep progressing. Keep pushing 💪
Thank you for the advice at the end.
I missed some episodes so what happened with the z? I am local to Dallas so when he had that shop build it I knew it was gonna be bad news.
Getting back into drifting with some random kids sr 240 it’ll definitely have some kinks to sort out haha, but some time and money it’ll be perfect, sometimes you pay all the money and don’t even get out to drive and then have to spend more money on your car when you get home haha, you got it keep at it not sure if you have a sim but it’ll help a lot
needs better innercooler or idk oil cooling…?
Where in Houston is this? I’m in houston too gonna start drifting my ls400 soon
And that weird noise is most likely your throw out bearing
Might not be what you wanted but you did it you tried it and now you know what needs work keep ur head up high and push forward 🤟🏽
It will be cool to see you get back into driving and have fun with it!
As a Houstonian i agree with the swimming through air it sucks but I still love my city LOL

you got this evan!! trust the process brother🙏🏽
Your pretty good drifting you just need to get those Manjis in between to link everything better but good driving for sure especially since you havent drifted in a while
Man you got out there and performed well, more then most would do! And they weren't bad laps. Shit happens just enjoy legend
Trial and error. Long time no doing stuff and in an unfamiliar chassy it's just chaos. This is how you grow and learn stuff.
Don't be so harsh on yourself. Perfect takes time, so just enjoy it. Enjoy the process.
Hey don’t feel down or say sorry!!! It’s racing/practice stuff. Used old car will have some problems . Plus it’s the first time to take it to the track so you are knowing that car. It’s all good, just fixed and put some seat time
You did great for not drifting in 3 yes bro. All love Evan ❤️
It’d be cool to see you get another jzx/chaser platform car and drift it! You’d probably have a lot of fun with 1J!!
GETTIN ITTT LOVE THE S13
Letttssss GOOOOOOO! come out to urban racing on november 6th!!
Never ask forgiveness for getting back on something you couldnt handle before. No matter the reason for stopping, if it's something you love and you get back on it thats a win, every day. Glad to see you back burning tires that I can't afford!! Lol. In all honestly I'm glad you're doing better man, and able to enjoy the cars you build. Been watching you for years, so it feels good to me that you finally are able to jump in them and rip it with less pressure than before.
I should add that I've been on that road before. It sucks major donky d%$#. From a random internet person to a CC, keep up the good work.
Sometimes you got to embrace the suck and keep doing your best
