I just heard the news today he passed away at 96. My deepest condolences to his son and students. He was the most humble soul I have ever meet. This is a true lost to the Martial World. RIP
I was so blessed to meet this great man. He came by the Seattle cemetary on that cold winter day, and took the time to share stories of Bruce, and had photos taken with him. My heart will grieve when he passes on.
Love Sifu Taky Kimura's laugh, he is kind, friendly, and generous. He treated me a good lunch and gave me $75 for helping him to unload a container of oranges from Japan. Three of us did that job, Roy Hollingsworth and Cyril Williams. God bless you Sifu!
Bruce Lee died when I 9 years old. Started watching his movies when i was 11. Love him ever since. 56 now and I'm still crazy over him. The sleeping dragon. The fist that shocked the world! Rest in peace. From Singapore.
Best is not to fight. But if you have to. Then you must win. In order to win there are few things which you must have in any martial art. Speed, Accuracy, Power, Most importantly Guts and Calm. Most probably you'll win. Again best is don't fight. Thank you.
If Bruce Lee was a rock landing in a pond, this story (an important story) is a ripple effect on how he changed and influenced so many lives. Bless you Taky Kimura, RIP.
Sifu Taky Kimura is a great individual who's inner strength has always impressed me. As a former student he taught me to always be humble, while carrying on throughout life's challenges.
I really not interested ppl just talk about Bruce Lee 'S movies. Stories like this, that Bruce Lee had contributed so much far beyond imagination. His humanity, his ways treating ppl regardless race n social status is what the world needs.
Taky, I believe Bruce chose you among others because you guys were kindred spirits, and love each other like close family. God blessed you as you age gracefully.
I was so fortunate to have met Taky Kimura and Andrew Kimura once and their members who are amazing teachers and shared values - the Heart ❤️ of the Dragon 🐉 we are grateful to you all for putting this beautiful piece and story together for the world now more than ever and to educate so many on history so we can build a better future
I have always wanted to meet this humble man, Sifu Taky Kimura. Seeing this very heart warming video just makes me want to see and just have a conversation with the man even more! Thank you for creating this wonderful presentation. It was very touching to hear the story of Taky's struggles as a Japanese American, his friendship with Bruce Lee, and how deeply he respects his friend. I'm sure Bruce could see from the very start that you are a good man, Taky. That's why you became one of his best friends. Also, you have a good son there, carrying on your legacy! Happy to know planet Earth has people like you.
It's really something very special when someone like Bruce can have such a lasting impact on the minds and hearts of so many people several decades after his passing. I liked this video a lot. Thanks for the upload. 😊
Bruce Lee broke so many barriers during that time it is just incredible..the race barriers between westerners and Asians, between Chinese and Japanese and other Asians, just to name a few besides his martial arts practice and philosophies..simply amazing how taky hugs Linda showing how close he really was to Bruce and his family.
I agree Brother! Like Bruce said... "We are All Brothers and Sisters under the same Heaven" I only hope that the People of China and Japan can put their differences aside. Those were different times and we are all very much in this all l together now. I ask the Chinese and Japanese leaders of their countries to start talking with fresh hearts and minds and I strongly believe that when this happens it will make both Nations incredibly Strong. I feel many people will learn from this and follow the Love. Then We will ALL be Strong! Much Peace, Love and Blessings ✊👍🙏
Taky Kimura,, you're a true friend, humble and faithful forever..a lesson for us all, and you're part of the Great Bruce Lee story..peace to you Taky Kimura.
I am Sifu Julian Sawyer of the World Wing Chun Association my student Mike Warren met Taky first became best friends and opened a bridge to me .I have been lucky enough to have met many of Bruce Lee's students and friends from Dan Inasamtos to the late Jesse Glover who was Bruce's first student . I did a Bow Flex commercial which was shot in Portland Oregon . The first thing I thought was here is my chance to meet Taky and to visit Bruce Lees grave . I rented a car from Portland I drove to Seattle . I got Takys phone number from Mike Warren . I called Taky on my drive to Seattle and had the most power conversation with the most humble loving man about my hero Bruce Lee. Taky was his best friend and shared things about Bruce how he had a temper and the way he trained. The things he told him like he said Taky we are going to set the world on fire .Wow talk about speaking it into existence .I know Taky is the keeper of the flame and is a powerful great man . Thank you for that conversation .
Father and son, man, that’s touching. Gr8 Taky’s son carrying on the Bruce Lee legacy. Yeah, still can’t quite deal with the sudden-ness of Bruce’s passing.
Wonderful heartwarming tribute to this fantastic friendship and martial arts legacy. Great content and images. It's always a delight to see Sifu Taky. Nice work, guys. Very best, Team Kudos 😀
And just think, now that he is gone you and your cheating partners Brian White, thats you Steve, and David Tadman can produce fake stuff to sell! You must be so happy. Regards to Andrew who will certainly get his cut. 😎
We're blessed to bare witness to history before it will only be seen as total history, if that makes sense. I love that I lived in a generation that admired and watched Bruce Lee films when it was only years since his passing. To us, he felt alive. We watched the films and you didn't think about him being gone. He was very much alive in our homes and in our minds. We'd jump off the couch and go whaaaa!!! My family went to Karate classes, we watched Kung Fu theater and it was a big part of our lives. Still is. Glad to see his friends/students like Kimura and Inosanto talk about him etc.
In the future Bruce Lee will become a God. Saying that he already is one to so many of us. Deep respect to Taky and his son for continuing this most special legacy and school.
I am so happy that l got to watch this video. This is an amazing man and deserves much credit for continuing the school in Seattle. I am so impressed with him and also Dan Inosanto. It is a testament to Bruce Lee himself that he has such close and highly regarded friends. He also has accumulated great friends in his 32 all too short years. I will always Love Bruce Lee and the impact he had on my life. I am 62 so l saw it all and was rocked and blown away by his death. Two best friends were sent by God. Japanese always the highest and strong culture in all aspects. For a Japanese master Kimura willing to give up his life, friends, culture, etc to followed Bruce.Well, at least master Kimura got good eyes to pick Bruce. Not only that, their age different. I can see the young follow the older. This is opposite. Bruce must be super martial artist in-order for anyone, especially for a Japanese master to learn from Bruce. And the war between Japanese vs Chinese. Both nationalities against each others! If anyone haven't see "The Legend Of Bruce Lee" ? It's on Netflix. I already watched over 4 times of 50 episodes each. X 4 = 200 episodes. Keep going LOL The only thing is, we (g/f) both have to read the subtitle. We just love the story and is Bruce story. Oh ya, we sure you are around watching us. RIP my hero!!!
I watched The Legend Of Bruce Lee on netflix. Is Taky are the one who is Bruce Lee Japanese student Friend. Who sold his sushi house to help Bruce's martial arts school. But, where is Jesse now as 2020? The black brother also a good friend of Bruce.
Don’t you mean jan fan Gung fu was Bruce’s version of Martial arts . Yes he uses Wing Chun in the his art but also uses a lot of his own concepts taken from other fighting arts.
I believe it was what he called the period in Bruce's training during the transition from classical Wing Chun to the final product art form which was Jeet Kune Do. This was the time when he was still experimenting and trying to find his true art and his temporary name for this work in progress was Jun Fan Gung Fu(Cantonese for what basically translates as "Bruce's Special Skillset") , which was basically Wing Chun with a mix of new styles he was constantly encountering and discovering and at that time.
I just heard the news today he passed away at 96. My deepest condolences to his son and students. He was the most humble soul I have ever meet. This is a true lost to the Martial World. RIP
