- They've also just put the price of the Remarkable 2 up effectively, by making you buy it along with the marker or marker plus. And the scribe is frequently on sale, so just wait for the next price drop to get one at less than £300.
But still, if you are on a budget, these are still the two to choose between.

I just don’t see any advantage of buying a Remarkable over a Scribe. Yes the scribe needs a few more writing features but as a basic note taking tablet, it’s excellent. I have a Boox Tab Ultra and find it has too many features. also the writing surface isn’t as nice and the screen refresh isn’t as seamless as the scribe. I think the balance is Supernote. My friend has one and I find it just right.
Could you tell me which device would be the best for reading and writing as well? I have seen a lot of devices but I can't really find the best answer to my question. I really like the Remarkable 2 as it has the best note taking features and I'm taking a lot of notes (currently on paper :) )but I have heard that the ebook reading part is really outdated (also it doesn't have a backlighting but it is not an issue for me as I have used older Kindle products without lighting). I have seen the Kindle Scribe which has better resolution and of course Amazon products are well known for producing quality ebook readers but I'm not sure about the note taking part. I have also seen many people mentioned the Kobo Elipsa 2E as it was the "best of both" world but I highly doubt it to be fair.
Sorry for the long comment but could you help me out a little bit? I'm having a hard time to decide between all of the devices available on the market.
When I looked at the Remarkable 2, I thought it was really expensive for what it is. I'm waiting for the Supernote A5X2, so in the meantime I purchased a Scribe with a Premium pen for £279, in the recent sale on Amazon.
I'm already invested in the Amazon ecosystem - kindle books, movies, store, etc. I like the Remarkable 2, but not having a Kindle app like Boox and Supernote was a deal breaker for me.
The Scribe is available new on eBay for £160 with a premium pen, I just bought one as I couldn't resist (I also own a reMarkable 2). Throw in a premium case and it's £210, vs £529 for an RM2 with just the basic grey book folio and premium pen (you want the premium as it has an eraser, the third party pens don't really compare, I have 5 pens in total now heh). That's over 2.5x the price..
You've found a great deal. I could only find £200 ones with premium pen, but still that's a good price compared to the listed ones on amazon
It’s a great deal. I recently sold a Boox Note Air 1 for a Scribe which i got for £175 with premium pen.
@@doctor1alex Indeed, and the update the other day that allows you to have a different template on a per page basis really makes it a viable option finally!
