    When you need to declutter and make room, think of this question, if it’s not a strong “yes, keep!” ….. then it’s a no. It may sound harsh, but you want to keep those you’re excited about especially is space is a premium.

    I have read Little Bee by Chris Cleave. I thought it was a good book but not one you necessarily need to own. I think it is more of a library check out book. I only like to own books I see as classics or would reread. You are better at letting books go than I am.

      @@mildrumpus LOL. I just finished watching part 2. You did your best. It is hard to let books go that have a nostalgia attached to them.

    Interesting collection of books - both staying and going. You video prompted me to get back to my great books purge. The little free library made me wonder - what happens when it rains - how do the books stay dry?

      That one fairs pretty well, but other times it becomes a soggy mess.

    I read The Secret Life of Bees a VERY long time ago but loved it at the time. Maybe give it a chapter and see if you vibe with the writing style?

    Hi Rumpus, I can't remember which vid but you were talking about Booktube and getting views and having time to read. Where do people get the impression you have to read new books. I bet you've read a zillion books in the past you could do great reviews of! You've got a great up and coming channel and I get happy every time I get notified the Rumpus is in the House!

      You could call it something with clever keywords like Rumpus Reads Retro, Reading with Ace and Rumpus, or Books to Read from the Rumpus Library! LOL!

    What a fun idea! I might have to do something similar with my old uni books 🤭
    I noticed The Life of Bees in your 'Undecided' pile. Unfortunately I won't be much help, as I've heard mixed things. Apparently it starts well, but is much the same near the end.
    Did you get the chance to read Vonnegut's Cats Cradle? If so what did you think?

    I’ve read Little Bee and The Secret Life of Bees. Both are worth a read. I enjoyed The Secret Life of Bees more but both remain on my shelf. How do you decide what you are going to donate? 😊💙

    • @mildrumpus
      @mildrumpus  4 місяці тому +1

      A lot of the books that I donated are duplicates. Others may have been annotated or the print is too small. And a few I know that in reality I will never sit down and read.
