Pete can make anything sounds good, no matter the price!
So that means: More practice, less gear shopping 😅
True words
@@rico4772 are you kidding? You don’t have to give up GAS by practicing more…😂
Funny thing.. I was just about to make the exact same comment and then I saw yours
I love it when you do budget reviews. Good stuff.
I want a “Try Not To Laugh” challenge with Lee where Pete has to use whatever gear he can find to make Lee laugh
You need to add the option in the basket to remove the PSU and daisychain on the offer, it's just landfill if you already have a PSU, stopped me buying an extra pedal on a recent order, just saying!
Solid suggestion!
Surely you could find somebody that has a use for that power supply!
Gear is gear as long as you’re happy it shouldn’t matter. Love you guys.❤
Really like the bundles you are offering. Pretty cool!
You guys crack me up... always enjoy your videos 'cause you have so much fun.
I’m loving the size of that eq pedal, they tend to take up a LOT of space. Hope it’s built well though, my mxr one crapped out way too soon.
had a taproom delay from this series for ages and it's been excellent, well worth the money
Did you use it with a daisy chained power supply?
@@joshball8674 Used it with a daisy chain and with a conventional power supply. Never had any problems with it as far as I remember 👍
@@steffanthomas5523 ah okay, thanks for the reply man
I would like you guys to be a little bit more honest sometimes. I can tell that Pete does not like every pedal. In old video's Rob would tell us when he did not like something but because of this you really believe it when you are impressed by a pedal or guitar. Now it gets difficult to differentiate products.
I think one of the thing that's handy about a graphic EQ is that it complements the parametric EQ that's on most amps and pedals by giving you the really precise control of the frequency bands.
I have lots of amps and dozens of pedals, none of them have parametric EQ..... Perhaps you're confused by the term parametric. Google parametric equalisation. Regards.
That Tongue is as wild as my Coloursound Tone Bender from the 70s 😊
The self oscillation on the flanger is cool for someone wanting to get into that kinda poly chorus/in utero vibe without soending hundreds on a poly chorus. Note: i'm not saying it it exactly the same but there are definitely overlaps and it is a hell of a lot cheaper than a poly chorus.
I used a mooer blade as my main distortion while playing a show once. Through a fender deville it had a huge sound.
Never bothered with pedals until these super affordable ones came out. I have 6, only 1 I don't still use is the frothy head echo because I have a slotva. Love these pedal, might have to get the phaser and e.q
I used to get a Hairy Tongue playing Big muffs in the 70s always spitty to
🤣🤣🤣
The popular story dates the etymology of the term Dutch courage to English soldiers fighting in the Anglo-Dutch Wars (1652-1674) and perhaps as early as the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648). One version states that jenever (or Dutch gin) was used by English soldiers for its calming effects before battle, and for its purported warming properties on the body in cold weather. Another version has it that English soldiers noted the bravery-inducing effects of jenever on Dutch soldiers.
Brawl sounds awesome!
I love petes facial expression on the thumbnail 😂
Ordering the flanger NOW.
I personally prefer the Behringer range as they tend to be direct clones of popular established pedals!
Some might be concerned because of their plastic construction but I’ve not yet had a problem with any of mine!
Lobe Behringer stuff. Just as good as Boss.
Big Behringer fan here too!
Some of these sound quite nice
The octaver with the fuzz sounded like one of the presets from a zoom 505, and I mean that with fondness 😉
These seem really interesting, as I can get like 4 of these for the price of 1 regular pedal!
maybe newer versions of these will have longer life spans, but any cheap pedals I have purchased over the last 6 years have not lasted long at all due to various issues. mostly related to components failing in circuitry that creates noise. some only lasted a couple of months and i don't even play daily.
Beautiful guitar.
Octave should usually go before Gain.... but still great demo!
I wish they'd do a shootout: cheap pedals vs (maybe) a Pod Go, or some such?
Noel Gallagher used to do a lot of octave pedal stuff, with Oasis. You can hear him do it on “Morning Glory’ and ‘Champagne Supernova’.
Will you be reviewing/showing the new Sterling by Music Man lineup for this year? I would love to see you guys playing some of those guitars!
You guys are hilarious!! Ahahahaha!! Love it!! Keep the good stuff coming!
I've used expensive pedals, cheaper pedals and the most basic, budget pedals and , honestly, people would be very surprised. I've let guitar-player friends hear them on recordings without telling them they're cheap and they always say they sound amazing (especially if I lie and say it's an expensive pedal to hear their reaction, before telling them the truth). Of course, there are exceptions - cheap ones which sound awful, but there are expensive ones that sound bad, too.
There's so much confirmation bias when it comes to guitar gear. People like to think they can tell an expensive pedal apart from cheap ones (which is how too many people decide what is "good" and what is "bad"), but for the most part they can't. I think this channel proved that when they had their Klon and Klon-clone shootout. A lot of it is placebo, and nothing more.
There's so many cheap ones to chose from now, especially for people starting their journey into the guitar and gear world: Sonicake, Amuzik, Donner, Mosky, Rowan. Behringer amd Zoom MultiFX have great sounding pedals, though not ideal for anything other than bedroom playing since they're made of plastic. Again, I have had horrible ones from these brands, but I've had more good than bad plus it's only £25 you've lost, not £250.
Another advantage, I think, to using cheaper ones that sound good is that most pros use the same pedals in their recordings. How many of your favourite players have the Boss DS-1, or EHX Big Muff Pi, Pro Co RAT, Boss BD-2, etc on their pedalboards? Using a pedal that no-one else does could help bring a bit of individuality and character to your music, rather than a generic combination.
I love how guitar players finally realized that a couple chinese circuit boards in a little metal box should not cost $200.
Hah. I was thinking the same thing
For the original ones you're also paying for the R&D
@@TimmyDarkness very true. I think a lot of designs are just rehashed, though.
@@NickJardine that's definitely true 👍🏻
That "T" style Chapman Guitar that Pete is playing looks way better than any Fender I have ever seen
Wheres the new PRS silver sky se colours video! I need this video!
I want to collect them all!!
these cheap mini china pedals are almost all the same just sold under different brands, i`m a bit addicted to collect these little sweeties over amazon from various brands and was never disappointed, most likeley surprised about the build and sound quality. cheers 🖤🎸
Not sure that is true. I used to think that the Landlord amber nectar was the same as the Donner blues driver, but it appears that it is different, and has a brighter tone. I still wonder though if the Landlord spinning room is the same as the Tomsline mod station.
@@quentinhawkins6368 just true, i send a couple of pedals back because they have been exact the same just different brands, especially the overdrive and distortion clone clones 🎸
I think Lee's employees are far more better off than Jeff Bezos' slaves.
Well the flanger is the usual Electric Mistress copy, complete with the whale song mode.
Good price compared with the Mooer version though
The distortion is the usual Rat cline (once again a decent price compared with others)
I love more affordable pedals , who doesnt ? That EQ would be very useful , im going to order one later this week , so dont go jacking the prices 😂 the Fuzz sounds ace as well . Hell they all sound useable . A nice Reverb and Delay would be cool also .
Since 2014 Mooer have taken their mini pedals and made them for anyone with their brand put on the box. All together there have been 29 different companies selling these Mooer boxes with simply the paint and graphics changed. Even Fender sold a few models. In fact I have the graphic EQ you just saw on this video with Fender printed on it. This same EQ with Mooer on it is $65.00 USD. There is zero difference. There is no saving using cheaper parts. It is cheaper to use the same parts and simply get volume discounts. Add to that parts must be reliable as waste kills profits as does warranty. Mooer need to be able to ship 99% of what comes off the line with no worries. So it is dead cool we can get these high quality pedals from Andertons.
Landlord gives you Mooer for your money 😇
Interesting.
Well Landlord is probably an Andertons house brand much like Victory.
Moorer for your money… good one 😂
@@xx-----------xx873 Looks more like a joint branding venture with other big UK retailers, Guitarguitar and PMT, who also sell them. That way they get even better volume discounts with the manufacturer.
Step 1: get as good as Pete
Step 2: buy any pedal, guitar, amp, it doesn’t matter because you can play like Pete.
When talking about flanger pedals, i like to use the word “ethereal” to describe the sound.
No. The pitch shifter unless you want artifacts and aliasing (which I'll be honest sometimes I do) should be as close to the pickups as it can get. This allows it to track better and for the distortion to work like it is a big, multi-octave guitar. It give the pitch shift a better chance to track.
This isn’t an analogue “tracking” pitch shifter like a Boss OC-2 or similar. It’s basically a DSP running an algorithm on whatever you throw at it. It pitch shifts noise just as happily. I got one of these last week, it sounds like that wherever you put it.
I love cheap pedals. Now I have to get one.
Flanger was cool.
Should have a bass to try octave up
In the US we call Dutch Courage having "Beer Balls"
But do they work for bass?
I think more expensive pedals do have enough extra finesse in form and function to make them worthwhile IF you have plenty of spare cash to indulge your hobby. But that’s not to say that their prices are not inflated far above what they really should be. It’s as if you pay an extra 50% for better quality/functionality, and then an additional 150% on top of that for a decent bit of graphic design (which only you can ‘hear’).
Pete is a great player.
"Duthch courage" comes from William of Orange's troops being given a big slug of gin before going into battle. They'd fight anyone after that - if they could resist the urge to throw their arms around them and say "You're my best mate, you are".
Nice!
I was hoping you would turn the dial on the fuzz to show its' range ???
Pete trying to make dinosaur/whale noises is the most excited I've ever seen him.
I really liked the distortion pedal and the flanger, but thought the phaser didn't do enough.
The 5 band EQ, with boost would be a really good option for a small pedal board setup.
The flanger? I thought that was the worst
That sent my cat into orbit for a moment.
Very interestinģ çheapy pedals
Holland and England went to war to each other a couple of times, some centuries ago, and so the English used Dutch (the enemy) as a derogatory or disqualifying adjective, like in Dutch treat, Dutch uncle, Dutch reckoning or Dutch widow.
When's Pete gonna demo his SIG guitar?
More interested in the guitar, what is it 😎
Danish Pete was just a couple notes away from Sleep's Dopesmoker....
British sports car body with a Chinese engine. Andertons expanding into manufacturing is the hot rumor on the street.
I got concussion (by crushing) once for doing what you suggested, Pete - she was a Judo expert who lost control... Pete
Pete could get a clutch pedal to sound good
Pete is murdering Daleks in the outro...
I certainly liked a few good old plastic behringer pedals. People hated on them for their awful build design and theyre right, but the chips inside of them were just good. Nothing special, but they worked well! I had multiple behringer pedals to play with, I just didnt place them on the floor
Most overdrives sound exactly the same if we are honest lol Even if they don't sound the same, guitarists will EQ them into the sound they like. Pete will always sound like Pete, for example.
courage best bitter theres a pint in the picture
In the US we don't say dutch courage, it's liquid courage here
That is pretty impressive for £29.
i like the jurassic park pedal🤘
I'm gonna need a bigger board.......
🦈
I love cheap pedals. Now I have to get one.
The flanger is exactly the Mooer Electric Lady for half the price (same controls, same sounds, same pedal size), including the useless filter mode
if it sells good, its sounds good, so the sellers say 🤣👌
Oh please don't join the shocked face thumbnail trend....
Dutch Courage, and other "dutch" phrases like bargains and concerts, originate in the anglo-dutch wars of the 17th/18th centuries. Given the popularity of Gin at the time, it's somewhat forgivable to mistake the phrase's association with Gin
The octave needs to be first and then the fuzz!!!
Dutch courage was actually made up by the English!
Back when the English and the Dutch were at war it became an insult to say the dutch were always drunk, and that it was the only reason they were brave.
At the time the Dutch were usually always a little drunk because they put alcohol in the drinking water to kill the bad stuff in the drinking water. This made them have a friendly and kind reputation with any country they, you know, weren't at war with.
These are great for young kids that need incentive to experiment
And to think I spent £35 to buy a Rocktek pedal 25 years ago.
Dutch courage comes from the days when soldiers would knock back half a pint of dutch gin before going into battle
watering hole feels like tom morello could use it as an intro lmao
Bro these are your own pedals! But in fairness you did say here’s our fuzz sound.
I cannot tell if the pedals sound awful or the guitar? Either way, they sound pretty bad.
Lets hear you
Dutch courage come from when the Dutch were smuggling vast quantities of cheap gin into the UK.... hence Dutch courage
Cheap pedals can be awesome. But if you are going to use them, A LOT, durability might become an issue.
These are just rebranded Moorer Audio pedals. There are a million of them out there, Donner, Roswin etc etc
£29 Kings Quid for a Knees Up.......Mother Brown......
Noisy buggers 🤣 Great value for money and what's not to like?
I'm not that critical but this review made me realize I'd rather spend a little more
BOTTOM LINE: My bank account balance says cheap pedals sound just fine.
Landlord effects? Can they evict your current pedals from your board? Will you bond with them, or will they sound flat? No pets allowed. No Chavs.
Best used on a guitar with a Rigsby tremolo
(One for our older UK subscribers there...)
This appears to be a rebrand of the Rowin product line. Is it worth the money, sure. I've owned most of the Rowin product. I picked them up from the factory in China at a huge discount...and can say the product does what you expect it to.
The point of this comment is that these aren't new. They are worth the money for sure..the paint is the only thing new. These pedals have been around for 5 years under many names.
Money doesn't give you talent.
uh oh...
truly a new low...
No.
Is the Dutch Courage the world's first racist pedal?
Complete toooosh
Jeez you gave Pete a sound effect button to play with?? 🫣😂😂
