ZACK, I JUST DISCOVERED YOUR VIDEOS. YOU ARE THE BEST TRAINER I HAVE EVER KNOWN. I WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOWN YOU 15 YRS AGO BEFORE I LET A LIAR SELL ME A HORSE THAT ROBBED ME OF MY ABILITY TO WALK. THIS PERSON HAD BEEN MY RIDING INSTRUCTOR FOR OVER 10 YRS. I HAD TO TAKE A BREAK FROM RIDING FOR A FEW YEARS WHILE I WENT TO COLLEGE. ONCE I WAS EDUCATED AND HAD A GREAT JOB IN THE MEDICAL FIELD I MADE ENOUGH MONEY TO SUPPORT MY OWN HORSE. OF COURSE, I WANTED THE PERSON WHO TAUGHT ME TO RIDE TO FIND THE RIGHT HORSE FOR ME. THIS PERSON HAD CHANGED BUT I DID NOT REALIZE SHE HAD BEEN CORRUPTED BY MONEY AND NO LONGER CARED WHAT HORSE SHE BOUGHT AND SOLD. EVEN WHEN I SAW HER SELL A 5 YR OLD GREEN MARE TO A FAMILY FOR THEIR YOUNG CHILDREN TO RIDE I STILL DID NOT REALIZE HOW CORRUPT MY INSTRUCTOR HAD BECOME. IF ONLY I WOULD HAVE KNOWN YOU I BET I WOULD NOT BE IN THIS WHEELCHAIR. ZACK, THANK YOU FOR BEING THE GREAT TRUSTWORTHY AND HONEST PERSON THAT YOU ARE. MAY GOD BLESS YOU!

Oh Walter, I just love you! You are a person in a horse suit! I fell in love with your when your video was first put up a few years ago~
Zach, YOU are the bomb! It is so evident that you are so patient, loving and excellent at what you do, your horses are more than happy to do whatever you have taught them. Walter, if I could have afforded you, I would have been the happiest girl ever! ❤️‍🔥Maybe one day I'll have the good fortune to visit the ranch and purchase a horse like you! But, in my humble opinion, NO HORSE could come close to your awesome personality! 😘

I could go to sleep listening to your voice (in a good way). I feel like I'm listening to a wonderful book.I agree being able to be way back away from a group has to be ok! or just change your mind and go for a ride alone and be ok with it while leaving the group behind.

Dude; you've just blown me away! Everything I do, now just seems like a speck to what you do! This stuff you do is so important in their training. I spend a lot of time doing all kinds of stuff to get a horse feeling secure in this modern world. Here in South Australia I deal with mainly english riding people who don't really understand all this stuff. They just seem to think a horse has problems or its acting naughty when it gets scared or spooky!... Basically because they're just wanting a horse to be educated to perform all their transitions. But when it comes to riding outside the arena or any other activities, they don't get why their horses are like that. They just expect so much from their horses, yet don't understand why a horse needs this kind of foundational training. Or may be there just isn't any interest to begin with?? Thanks for sharing man... Keep it up!

I have had my horse for 30 years.. he will be 36 next month.... can not imagine not having him, however each day is truly a gift. Must be prepared for the inevitable...
I see this is what you do for a living.... didn't realize that, when I made my previous comment... would LOVE a horse like walter.....however, my wallet would not ever be able to afford it. Being disabled, dont see that happening in this lifetime.... made me feel better knowing this is what you do. Couldn't imagine selling a horse with such a bond to you, until I realized this IS your wrok...and what work you do! wow!

If I could ride still, I know where I'd bring my next horse for training. It's obvious you take the time and enjoy what you are doing.

For those of you interested here are the auction results from Walter's sale. pastsales.thehorsebay.com/grand-larceny-walter/?auction_id=122. Zach, if you don't want this posted you're of course welcome to delete it. What an amazing horse. I'm 70 and haven't ridden for 35 years but did enjoy trail riding as a younger man. I finally got myself a horse property and it would take a horse like Walter for me to get back in the saddle; that's for sure. I've been on the back of what Mark Twain would have called a genuine Mexican Plug and I don't think I've got enough time left to recover from another fall like that. Wonderful stuff Mister Stevens.

You have done an amazing job, and you have made us feel better about owning this breed. (We are old quarter horse people and still own and ride some we raised). We mainly trailride now..... but there you cannot put a price on safety. LOVE YOUR PRESENTATION!

Just went down a rabbit hole and found your video. Walter reminds me so much of my coming 7 year old Thoroughbred love of my life. He's super curious about everything and we are pretty strongly joined up. I've been exploring ways to mix up his training and your video has given me some very good ideas. We did a lot of competitive trail riding once he was solidly backed and I've shot water pistols off of him, walked him through piles of "trash", hanging vines, tarps, teeter-totters, etc. His answer to just about everything is "Okay mom. Whatever." I'm hoping to do mounted archery and also make it to a mounted police clinic. He'll never be for sale though. :)

I just loved watching you and Walter, and listening to your narration. It's one of the most interesting and beautiful videos I've ever seen on UA-cam, just at random. I am not a rider, but have always loved horses ever since I rode pack horses bareback up at our cabin in Mt Rainier as a kid. They were left in our care by hunters, so they wouldn't get shot in deer season. I had no idea what I was doing, but loved 'em, and wasn't afraid. Thank you for such a beautiful visit with you and Walter. I hope he finds a loving home with someone who understands him like you do.
