    Hi. I started this pillow a couple of months ago, and finished the front side. The backside is halfway finished now, finally, after major health issues for my husband, so I am so happy to finally finish it. I am using a dark orchid red heart yarn and an ivory yarn for the center of the front. You are such an amazing teacher. I have been crocheting since I was 12/13ish,(I’m nearly 61 now)and all I’d ever done until middle of last year, were granny square blankets and pillows, so I’ve been having a blast learning so many new stitches & patterns, thanks to you and other crochet tutorials.

With needle and matching thread use a simple straight stitch, going through the yarn and zipper. Work with the zipper open so you can grasp the zipper and pillow cover while you sew. @bethmuscat4570 Рік тому

      I would start a starting chain of however big you want the blanket to be, and if you end up with a couple extra stitches at the end that you don’t need on your starting chain, you can clip the starting chain and it will knot when you pull the string…or you can leave them unworked and tuck that piece in at the end. I’ve done this with other stitches when there is no actual pattern available. It’s not that hard.

      Hi. I wanted to reply right away because this can still be salvaged. Hopefully, it's only a little bit off. It was probably a tension issue. How many chains one should take for 16x16

  • @lisaphillips2712
    @lisaphillips2712 4 роки тому +1

    Is it a total of 30 rows going up?? Or after completing CH row 1 and row 2 and 3? Only because when I did 30 rows in total it wasnt completely square. Yet 34 rows seems to be? I used a tape measure to get it square ? I'm a newbie really so am a bit confused

    • @CrazyCoolCrochet
      @CrazyCoolCrochet  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Lisa. It would be 30 rows in total. However, there can be a lot of variables that would make it not exactly square. For example, your tension and the yarn you used. Some yarns are thicker than others even though they are labeled the same #4. And some yarns are much more stretchy. Your tension might be tighter than mine which would result in a slightly different end result. As long as your finished panel fits your pillow it won't matter if you have 30 rows or 34 rows. Crochet is an art, not a science. LOL. Enjoy the process and the end product and it's all good!

      @@CrazyCoolCrochet Thank you with the 55 chain it works out like 34 across so thought it would have to be 34 up as well. I need it to fit an 18 x 18 cushion but the insert hasnt arrived yet for me to measure against so I'm kind of working blind at the moment. With a tape measure it's working out 14 inches across (without the single crochet and 12 upwards with 30 stitches should the cover work out smaller than the cushion??

    • @CrazyCoolCrochet
      @CrazyCoolCrochet  4 роки тому +1

      @@lisaphillips2712 It's ok for the cover to be smaller because it should stretch to fit. Mine is 16" square but stretches quite a bit and fits the 18x18 insert nicely. 14" makes me a little nervous. LOL Worse comes to worst you can just keep adding to the sc border to make it fit. (It does sound like your tension is tight.)

    Hello! I’m sure I’m missing something simple but I’m really struggling. No matter what amount of chains I do I can’t get this pattern to work. I am trying to do a 9x9 and I’m starting with 41 chains. After row one I have 39 dc. When I get to the point where you say we should have 3 dc left before completing round 3, I always have 4 left, not 3. I can’t get the waffle pattern to line up. What am I doing wrong? 😔

    • @CrazyCoolCrochet
      @CrazyCoolCrochet  3 місяці тому

      Thank you for reaching out. It looks like I described it weirdly for the end of that second row. While there are 3 DC's remaining, there is also the turning chain. I say to enter the two DC's and then the 3rd DC goes in the turning ch. In effect, we are skipping the last actual DC. That's how it looks in the vide; I don't actually have access to the pillow as I am in the middle of moving. I hope this helps.
