An extended or long wheelbase high top is ideal for a couple who want also a built-in shower/toilet, yet you still have a clear view from front to back. Nice van color too.
Totally agree - we love the LWB sprinter as a van. It gives us everything we need althouhht wouldn't have minded the straighter walls that come with building out a box or Luton van next time hahaa
Wow. This van build is absolutely fabulous. For a couple with no experience they have done a fantastic conversion. I love how honest and open they are re issues with the bike rack, the leak in shower (which I hope they have solved), the outside electrical point they haven't hidden anything. It's great to see a UK build (I am from and living in the UK and since finding all these bus, van and tiny homes it's made me realise how I would love to do this sort of thing (just to escape on a weekend with my daughters to start) but also I would want to travel around as much as I can in the UK and also I would very much want to travel around the world (again as much as I can). Again guys I think you have done an amazing, a very thoughtful build, fabulous inside, amazing conversion. You have been very open and explained everything, even your mistakes. You haven't hidden anything, by this I mean about the build 😉. Thank you for allowing us viewer's into your home 🏡. I wish you both everything you need to help you on your travels and just a thought but how about starting up your own UA-cam channel and letting us in on your travels where you go etc (once all this Covid-19 stuff is all done and over with) as I know this is an obstacle stopping a lot of van lifer's/bus lifers and tiny home people from exploring. I certainly would subscribe to your channel being a follow brit and also wanting to do this and getting the experience of travelling the world, while having (hopefully) the time of your life. Congratulations and happy safe travels also please think and consider the idea of having your own channel. 😘💡👍🙏🏡🚗👏👏👏👏🤗😘 Lisa UK xxxx
I love this couple. Right from the start they acknowledge the mistakes they made with such good humor. They really leave ppl feeling anyone who wants to can build out a van. Love that orange van & awning too. Wishing them all the best!
Great van build. The couches are so much more inviting than most builds that typically have so much clutter. Nice presentation of the build too. It's okay to make mistakes because they let you get to a better build. Nice van. Nice videoography too Dylan 👍
Cheers for the comment - we LOVE our sofas because you can properly laze out on them without having to make the bed up everyone you want to chill out. They do take up a lot of space though!
I love their layout, and that they're so candid about needing to rework some things, and issues that have cropped up. I'm looking for something like their shoe storage cubby at the entrance of their van for our trailer. Tips welcomed! 😊
@Paola E Thanks! My closest IKEA is unfortunately in Canada. I'm in the U.S., and our border is currently closed, but I'll check them out to see if I can order something online that will fit my space.
I love how open and attractive the van looks! I'm not sure how you managed to have all that space but I think you scored in your layout. Your van is an interesting mix of classy and comfortable.
Orange isn't for everyone but we love it! Thanks for the comment and for the compliments on our mugs (Anthropologie in the UK) and fluffy cushions (TK Maxx/Homesense)
Couple did a great job. I have very limited funds, and would be afraid of ruining something, and having to pay again (twice), due to lack of skills/knowledge. Kudos to the couple.
Wow great van! Love the colour scheme... earthy welcoming... how on earth do you survive with so few clothes!!??? Seriously your white outfit is cute, is that one of your few (very very few!) Travel outfits ?
I also have a lot of leisurewear and sports gear in one of the overhead cabinets and tbh we barely wear half the stuff we bought away as we live in swimming cosies, shorts and t shirts most of the time tbh!
Great build folkes, the van is finish really well, thanks for the video. Do ya self a favour and buy as disk lock. The quarter panels pop out in 20 seconds and the screwdriver that pops the window will do the lock you have in 20 seconds then swap the barrel and away. Sorry to be so pessimistic one guy pointed it out to me and its real threat. To day a van guy Mel whos on you tuble woke to some one cutting his catalytic converter. Hope this helps
Thanks for the advice! We will look into the disc locks and try to order one. We always think if someone really wants to rob her then we can only do so much to deter them but definitely wish we'd spent more time and money on security factors like dead locks etc. Really appreciate your honesty!
Great video. Also, F*! Squarespace. I was at one time hosting two websites through them. They tried REALLY hard to screw me on a refund for something on one of my sites until I reminded them that I had another, more expensive site they were still hosting that I could cancel (and eventually did). Once they realized they could lose more money than the one refund they were trying to cheat me out of, their story did a 180. Suddenly it was, "Oh, I'm sorry. It seems like we made a mistake. We actually can refund that!" If you have to threaten someone in order for them to do the right thing, I don't think you should be doing business with them in the first place. So, once again, I say F*! Squarespace.
Thank you for the video and well done! About the bed/sofa. The two back rests that make the middle of the bed, are they comfortable to sit at against and then comfortable to lie on? This concept is used a lot but as a backrest it looks too low and for the central bed piece you get the slits in between the mattress parts.how are these two things working for you? Thx
Hey! Thanks for the comment. The back rests actually become the very edge pieces instead of the middle and we had them made so they taper in depth from 10cm at the bottom to 8cm at the top so they are ever so slightly slanted backwards (very marginally) which means you don't feel like you're slouching over when sat up but the taper is so small that you don't notice it when laying in bed. Also the cushions are really tight when made into a mattress so there's absolutely no movement between them when you move in your sleep. Think we had them made a few mm bigger in width overall to make sure they squished together tightly. Hope that's helpful!
Because carbon monoxide is slightly lighter than air and also because it may be found with warm, rising air, detectors should be placed on a wall about 5 feet above the floor. The detector may be placed on the ceiling. Do not place the detector right next to or over a fireplace or flame-producing appliance.
Post office box for mailing, campground or friend/family for permanent address. If you winter in a particular place every year, or you regularly pass through a particular state/town, use that.
@@martinmizfitcruz4975 then more power to you, the US seems to be very lenient on van builds and parking them around. I am struggling to make sense of my country's laws around vans atm :/

Yes and That's what we need these videos for.
I agree...great comment
Yes, this could have been titled, "What Not To Do When DIY a Van"...

So appreciating the undermount water fill and color of the van. We love when we see a van that stands out. Gorgeous and sleek design.
Great build and layout - good job y'all! Also, love that he's a Mac person and she's a Windoze person - too funny!

I love the beauty and honesty of your guys' van build. Awesome tips ❤
This gives me inspiration. I have no building skills but I want to try this next year
Courtney's rocking the 'Cover-All' look. Van was impressive too.
Thanks a lot. Can't beat a pair of overalls! Also you get a whole outfit out of one item which is good for van space saving haha
Been following these two for a while, great seeing Courtney looking all glamorous definitely one of vanlife super babes.
Beautiful conversion. Hope you have many wonderful years travelling in it. Thanks for sharing.
i love that you didn't let your inexperience stop you from living your dream! keep at it ❤
Thanks so much for the encouraging words! We really appreciate it! Just shows any novices can do it if you put your mind to it!
really wonderful!! If you share the manual, you make me buy that. This means your van so touches me!!! Thanks a lot.
Great job .Not many Americans put in a shower and toilet you did a very good job.
Love the green mugs. And those fluffy cushions. I dont like the col orange but it does look good under the trees. Happy travels both xxx

Very creative and nice van build...

Aren't CO detectors supposed to be near the floor?

3rd Comment! Lol I'm so interested in vanlife!
i never been this early beforeee lol
AWESOME van!!!!
Thanks so much! Glad you like it!
Didn’t they have another van tour?
Like a completely different van
How do people that live in vans register their van with no address
