I don't understand the decisions Samsung makes. I'm all in for a new version of the S6 Lite but it should have at least 6gb of ram on the base model and with a better processor like the Exynos 1380. Some will say that it would cannibalize the sales of the S9 FE but it won't, the S6 Lite has a worse screen, less ram, worst aspect ratio, and an old design. Samsung gives us a tablet that cost them practically nothing but manufacturing because there was no development and research, they've been using the same design for 4 years and yet they still give us crappy specs.
They lost their way. Again!
The ram, yes. Better processor? No. Giving it the same power as the S9 FE would certainly eat away at its sales, and given that it's one of Samsung's best-selling tablets, they would not allow that. Exynos 1280 is enough for a budget tablet with the only thing holding it back is the abysmal 4gb RAM, which I can only assume they refuse to increase it for the same reasons of preserving S9 FE sales.
@@starblissgames if I'm being honest, the S9 FE series should also have a more powerful chipset. I understand what you are saying from a business perspective, but I think Samsung is becoming much like apple in its strategy with the difference that Samsung has more competitors and a more open ecosystem, so I don't think they are playing the correct strategy for the long run.
@@WarchiefTomi yeah I agree. S9 FE could've been better with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or even Exynos 2200, but I can't say Exynos 1380 is a bad processor either, at least from my experience. It's unfortunate how Samsung is losing their sense of identity and just seem to follow whatever Apple does, with occasional new innovations here and there. It really appears to me that Samsung is trying to win over Apple's customers.
Giving the same same as the base S9FE (6GB) and the same processor would definitely cannibalize it. But Samsung chose to give that device a disappointing processor with the same CPU speed as the S7FE... So here we are with 4GB on the S6 lite... which is terrible on Android (I have on my Tab S4 and it's on Android 10, Android 14 is probably worse). 4GB is bad even on the iPad nowadays. 6GB should be a minimum.

I have the S6lite (2022) and the chipset i have is the Qualcomm 720 inside so it can perform everything alot faster (something that Samsung did do right) as for the RAM I do agree that in today's standards it wouldn't be enough (unless your using it for daily task or school work with browsing or Youtubing). If this is their best for the 2024 model the least they could've done is increase the RAM to 6GB, increase the internal storaget 128GB (inside of 64), and lastly the chipset they've could've used is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720, 765, or the 730 to level the plane feild. Exynos in my opinion is designed for power effiecency and probably was designed for everyday task and casually game (not meant to be pushed) to last you a day or two depending on how you use it. I wouldn't say the chipset is bad nor terrible I say it's medicore or "good enough," at best of your looking for an all day battery to accomplish all your task for work, school, or media consumption.

I can't answer for Samsung, but if you currently own a tablet there are ways to get it done. Personally on my s6 lite 2020, I use sunshine and moonlight for super low latency and quality. You can get it done wireless or wired (using USB tethering, works even when no networks around).
can you use it as a 2nd screen? The s6 2020 and 22 used to have that feature, but it got removed in the newest oneui update

I usually never upgrade unless something's broken or faulty enough to bother me. The cost of accessories a long makes me wanna keep my devices longer.
I wish Samsung had something the size of the iPad mini. I’m a social worker and use my ipad mini as a notepad with good notes. It’d be great to have a Samsung tablet around that size

I have a beaten up tab s6 lite 2020 with a crack in the screen. It's usable but just damaged. Should I get the new 2024 version in the summer or do I get the s9 Fe, or just keep on using my tab s6 lite?
I would personally try and get the S9 FE if you are able. I think it would last you longer. I'm also debating on upgrading from my 2020 S6 Lite which has some major burn in (yes, on an LCD screen). It is so slow and clunky by 2024 standards. Wondering if the Apple 10th generation tablet would be the way to go.

I would buy it to. I am waiting since ever for a powerfull, full specs, with pen, galaxy tab, the only option now on the market is the ipad mini :( and for samsung is just the enterprice edition, but it is bulky and with so so specs :(
I am waiting for this too, but I think Samsung won't make an 8 inch Tablet because it will take away their Fold's customer since its screen is about 7.6 inch and the price is not really affordable for most people (like me).
This is not worth it for the price when the Galaxy Tab S9 FE exists with better specs in literally every way..
It is also on sale for $349. I wouldn't even suggest the S6 Lite at this point.

About as powerful as the Galaxy A25 , but for 2024 atleast put 120 or even 90 hz display on it, I would go for the tab A9+ if it wasn't for the spen on the tab s6 lite.
I sold mine as I was fed up with this tablet. The WiFi connectivity is shit. Got myself an iPad and that’s the best decision I’ve ever made. I still hate the iPhone, but the iPad is something else.

Samdung has really become just greasy spit in a rusty can nowadays. I'm tired of their crap, done with their prices. They've become a cheap sellout, you're only paying for the name now. They need the carpet pulled out from under them and they need to fall hard. They need to be reminded how they became so great and their lackluster efforts and corner cutting (because the CEO wants a bigger yacht and a new wife with a bigger gyat!) Corporate greed example at its finest. The current Samsung devices I have will be my last unless I see serious changes and everyone else needs to aquire the same mentality or this type of crap will go on forever and even get worse! Cause one day you'll buy a phone and not even get a phone!

For 300 usd (even 270) you can take 256gb capacity and 2.5k display Xiaomi Pad 6. I took one, it is awesome.
There's so many better alternatives for the price, like Xiaomi Pad 6 or Tab S9 FE, that there is no reason for this to even exist, especially how it almost has the same specs as the older one. I completely agree with you.

I can confirm it is, I got it free with mine and it's a 2024 version, it's not too bad either for being free, haven't tried gaming on it yet though
@@MB-jh7fyI got my free S6 lite a few days ago. Tablet is good but nothing special. It'll do for watching Media that's all I'm going to be doing with it anyway. Weirdly my iPad mini from 2019 is more powerful and has a better quality screen but the size of the S6 lite screen is pretty good compared to the iPad mini.

that light bleed across the bottom/right edge is a deal breaker. saw it on an older review of 2022 version. its a shame samsung didnt care enough about fixing that issue and just re-released the same tablet lmao. the upgrade that this NEEDED was more ram, at least bump it up to 6gb and leave everything the same; even the light bleed is worth the trade off for more ram.
how do you play games with that controller? please guide
go to bluetooth settings and pair it just like you would with xbox or playstation to where it pops up and hit pair, then you can use it for certain games, not all

Exynos 1280 is very slow. They should at least have fitted the Exynos 1480 (2024 chip) in it. (like in A55).
Looks like another direct competitor to the Amazon Fire Max 11 from Samsung. The problem is the price. For 100 USD more at retail you don't really get equivalent value. This doesn't even take into account that the Amazon Fire Max is on sale for 179 USD more than it's retail price of 229 USD. Looks like Samsung really messed up on this one or they assumed the target demographic was more naive, for lack of a better word, than they actually are.

This could have been a really good upgrade for most people. But 4GB RAM is a crime, especially when their software is not as optimized as others. It's 40% off atm and I'm debating if I could get it or not.

Just a comment on the audio test. The song you choose sucks. It is tinny by default and does not properly have the bass and 3D effect you can expect higher quality speakers to make. Just choose a better song and then play two tablets side by side. Otherwise the sound test right now is pretty useless because all devices sound the same. Also putting all information in a spec sheet comparing weight and other properties side by side would be nice and help users decide if they want to upgrade.
One of the biggest caveat of Samsung tablets is there notoriously bad sound for lower end devices. Companies like Lenovo with their Yoga Tablet line up and Huawei with their 300 dollar price range, blow Samsung tablets out of the water. I am always suprised how well my 200 Dollar Huawei tablet sounds. It is so much better anything Samsung in the same price tier.

By far the best option for students. Because its not a trashy Chinese tablet and is actually good quality for the price its very popular among students who can't afford ipad air or pro.

They would never do that. They didn't even put AMOLED on their flagship Tab S7 and Tab S8.
@@starblissgamesThe worst thing is they still use TFT on their budget/mid-range offerings. Before upgrading to Xiaomi Pad 5 1.5 years ago, I had a midrange Samsung tablet (tab A9 or something I don't remember) and the display was horrid. Any TV show/movie in the dark was hard to watch even with lights off. The high contrast IPS on this Xiaomi tablet looks like an OLED compared to that.

I've just upgraded to the S9FE and it won't allow you to use the free versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint without buying a Office 365 subscription. Have to dig out my old Tab S2 to edit and save changes on these files.... bummer
