  • AD: I’ve partnered with @MinwaxUSA in this video to show how you can make an easy upgrade to your sofa by adding custom turned wooden legs. This is a simple turning project that can be made on a midi or a mini lathe. If you’re not comfortable turning your own sofa legs, there are many options online for sofa legs that are already turned. I show how I use and layer Minwax Color Stain and Design Series products to create a unique custom look that complements the color of my sofa and the décor of my room. These products are quick and easy to apply, come in an extensive range of colors, and result in a beautiful and durable finish! #keeponfinishing

This is so great thank you. I turn from time to time as part of my woodworking. And I love it. But I also know that I overlook some of these more practical things like dressing up existing furniture. I’m inspired!

No handle required. I too find myself picking up a tool and using it, not bothering to attach a handle. Great project Ashley, well done! Enjoyed the “design process” and the stain play.

I'm new to your channel Ashley!
It's nice to see ANOTHER female woodworker😉
When I took my first woodworking class back in 2007 the lathe always scared the Dickens out of me so I never practice on it or made a project with with the one we had. I remember of my church he was getting rid of some of his big tools and he offered me, if I remember correctly, a full size lathe that he was just going to give me but there wasn't enough room in our garage and so he gave it to somebody else cuz I just kept avoiding him.
Anyway watching you do this makes me think of one thing, and that is how do you keep your hands moisturized? What product do you use to keep your hands moisturized?
Keep up the good work Ashley and I'm just curious are you doing your woodworking in Oregon, cuz that's where I'm at?
    Keep up the good work!

    Terra Tombada
    Chitãozinho & Xororó
Composição: Carlos Cezar / José Fortuna
É calor de mês de agosto
    É meados de estação
    Vejo sobras de queimadas
    E fumaça no espigão
    Lavrador tombando terra
    Dá de longe a impressão
    De losângulos cor de sangue
    Desenhados pelo chão
    Terra tombada é promessa
De um futuro que se espelha
    No quarto verde dos campos
    A grande cama vermelha
    Onde o farto das sementes
    Faz brotar de suas covas
    O fruto da natureza
    Cheirando a criança nova
    Terra tombada
    Solo sagrado, chão quente
    Esperando que a semente
    Venha lhe cobrir de flor
    Também minh'alma
    Ansiosa, espera confiante
Que em meu peito você plante
    A semente do amor
    Terra tombada é criança
    Deitada num berço verde
    Com a boca aberta pedindo
    Para o céu matar-lhe a sede
Lá na fonte, ao pé da serra
    É o seio do sertão
    A água, leite da terra
    Alimenta a plantação
    O vermelho se faz verde
Vem o botão, vem a flor
    Depois da flor, a semente
    O pão do trabalhador
    Debaixo das folhas mortas
    A terra dorme segura
Pois nos dará para o ano
    Novo parto de fartura
    Terra tombada
    Solo sagrado, chão quente
    Esperando que a semente
    Venha lhe cobrir de flor
    Também minh'alma
    Ansiosa, espera confiante
Que em meu peito você plante
    A semente do amor
    Também minh'alma
    Ansiosa, espera confiante
Que em meu peito você plante
