DIY Turned Sofa Legs
Вставка

- AD: I’ve partnered with @MinwaxUSA in this video to show how you can make an easy upgrade to your sofa by adding custom turned wooden legs. This is a simple turning project that can be made on a midi or a mini lathe. If you’re not comfortable turning your own sofa legs, there are many options online for sofa legs that are already turned. I show how I use and layer Minwax Color Stain and Design Series products to create a unique custom look that complements the color of my sofa and the décor of my room. These products are quick and easy to apply, come in an extensive range of colors, and result in a beautiful and durable finish! #keeponfinishing

The smile that launched a 1000 DIY projects. Great to see you back at work. Cheers!
Min-wax, You are using a great product. I have had good finishes on all my products with Min-wax for 50 years. Glad to see you back on your channel.
I'm glad to see another video, and very glad to see Minwax was smart enough to partner with you. Your a gorgeous and smart woman, quite talented wood turner, with whom I am proud to say is teaching me alot. Keep up the great work!!
This is so great thank you. I turn from time to time as part of my woodworking. And I love it. But I also know that I overlook some of these more practical things like dressing up existing furniture. I’m inspired!
Good to see you back and thanks.
Wonderful display of tool sharpness and geometry Ashley. Very soothing to watch.
👏 came out great! Never would have thought of the black over blue. Nice results.
Ashley, I can't stop admiring you! You and your hands!
Color combo turned out great. Especially with the hardware 👍
Wooohooo!! A new video! Made my entire day special.
Thank you so much Ashley !!
😊 Charleston’s only superstar!!
Absolutely gorgeous! The woodturning looks good as well! 😇
No handle required. I too find myself picking up a tool and using it, not bothering to attach a handle. Great project Ashley, well done! Enjoyed the “design process” and the stain play.
Great to see you back, we missed you! Cheers Stoney...🇦🇺
Ashley, you are a beautiful needlewoman! We wish you success and good health!

Thanks! I always learns something from your videos.
That’s Great Ashley!!!
Incredible improvement both in style and function.
Another lovely job ! Your definitely the Nigella Lawson of wood turning.
Really glad to see you again, your you-tube presence has been missed. I always chuckle when you are wearing your black shirt/sweater and end up covered in white wood shavings. Thank you for an interesting topic.
Good to see you back
Finally some content worth watching!!!
Love the final product 👌
Wow you made that look so easy! Also what great tools you have in your workshop! I’d be like a kid in a sweet shop if that was my workshop😛😍😁
Nice upgrade Ashley,Cheers Colin.

Un abraso de Sur Tejas

OMG it has been a bit. Hey was getting worried. Glad to see ya back.
Very Nice Ashley!
Missed this, don't know why I'm not getting the notification, anyways, great project, I wasn't sure I'd like the color, but that was spot on also, as always, great watching you create
I admire your skills Ashley. I follow you from Iraq 🇮🇶
Thank You !!
You make turning look so smooth and effortless compared to most others that youtube pops up in recommendations.
Definitely an upgrade to your sofa!
A drill bits called vix bits will do the job as self centering drill prior drive the screws into wood. Maybe you would reconsider them. I have been used them for years and you would love them!
I actually did this few months ago. Same reasons you mentioned.👍
Hello from Buenos Aires Argentina !!!!
I congratulate you been pretty adept at doing upholstery work I turkey👍🏻🇹🇷
I'm new to your channel Ashley!
It's nice to see ANOTHER female woodworker😉
When I took my first woodworking class back in 2007 the lathe always scared the Dickens out of me so I never practice on it or made a project with with the one we had. I remember of my church he was getting rid of some of his big tools and he offered me, if I remember correctly, a full size lathe that he was just going to give me but there wasn't enough room in our garage and so he gave it to somebody else cuz I just kept avoiding him.
Anyway watching you do this makes me think of one thing, and that is how do you keep your hands moisturized? What product do you use to keep your hands moisturized?
Keep up the good work Ashley and I'm just curious are you doing your woodworking in Oregon, cuz that's where I'm at?
Keep up the good work!
Ashley I hope your doing well. Love your work and videos. Hope you will continue posting more in the near future.
To every season turn, turn, turn...oh, that’s for the Byrds. 😉
Missed your videos.
The ability to vacuum or sweep under it is also an important consideration in determining leg length that I didn't hear mentioned.
Hello Ashley. Good video and well explained. I would also like to know your protective helmet that you use in this video, where did you buy it or what manufacturer is it from? Thank you very much, greetings from Asturias, Spain. Vitoria
Complimenti 👍🔝🔝
Ashley! 😍😍😍
@Ashely is that conditioner kinda like a sanding sealer or no? Love that black on the blue to bring out the grain. Looks awesome!
Yes, it is kinda
@@AshleyHarwood awesome!! Thank you so much, I'll have to give it a try. You're a huge inspiration to me and an amazing person. Love seeing your work.. and hope to meet you someday :)
Hi Ashley love your video's question what's the best angle for wood turning tools uk
Regards
Alan
Question for you regarding your Vicmarc. Does your lathe have the 3 HP motor and if so, do you do 'coring' with it? I'll be getting my 'retirement' lathe in a few years and am curious how the Vicmarc is with respects to coring...thanks.
Some black shoe polish would also work to bring out the grain.
Just a curiousity question, how tall are you. You said once you had to build up the base of your machines.
I'm sure this is a FAQ but what brand respirator do you wear? I work with aluminum and really don't want to breathe the airborne particles...
Really nice, just don't nick them up with your Hoover! Good night from Indiana.
Hi dear Ashley,
Could I ask you to do favor & prepare online classes for foreign students who don't have the chance to come to USA??
Thanks a million
That’s really a too simple of a project for a lady with your talents.
De mais 👏👏👏👍🤗😘
Colab with april wilkerson would be awesome
Precocious on the sofa?Oh,Ashley!
I love coming here for the videos, I always learn something even after 40 years of turning... but reading these guys comments gives me the creeps.....
Yeah it is definitely creepy and pathetic, but for some reason I can't stop reading them, it's like a train wreck you can't look away from.
Some animals evolve more slowly, I say be respectful maybe some young girls are watching
Rather remind her of the good comments
@@outlawshedcreations5303 Pretty sure she can figure those out all on her. own... she doesn't need any mansplaining.....

Find someone who looks at you the way Ashley looks at her camera man/woman.
Hey I know her!
Hi Ashley,
I have a couple questions about the SD Taper Lock turning chisels/handles. I live in Canada and not sure if you ship here, do you have an email address where I could contact you. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you, Dean
Terra Tombada
Chitãozinho & Xororó
Composição: Carlos Cezar / José Fortuna
É calor de mês de agosto
É meados de estação
Vejo sobras de queimadas
E fumaça no espigão
Lavrador tombando terra
Dá de longe a impressão
De losângulos cor de sangue
Desenhados pelo chão
Terra tombada é promessa
De um futuro que se espelha
No quarto verde dos campos
A grande cama vermelha
Onde o farto das sementes
Faz brotar de suas covas
O fruto da natureza
Cheirando a criança nova
Terra tombada
Solo sagrado, chão quente
Esperando que a semente
Venha lhe cobrir de flor
Também minh'alma
Ansiosa, espera confiante
Que em meu peito você plante
A semente do amor
Terra tombada é criança
Deitada num berço verde
Com a boca aberta pedindo
Para o céu matar-lhe a sede
Lá na fonte, ao pé da serra
É o seio do sertão
A água, leite da terra
Alimenta a plantação
O vermelho se faz verde
Vem o botão, vem a flor
Depois da flor, a semente
O pão do trabalhador
Debaixo das folhas mortas
A terra dorme segura
Pois nos dará para o ano
Novo parto de fartura
Terra tombada
Solo sagrado, chão quente
Esperando que a semente
Venha lhe cobrir de flor
Também minh'alma
Ansiosa, espera confiante
Que em meu peito você plante
A semente do amor
Também minh'alma
Ansiosa, espera confiante
Que em meu peito você plante
When I die, I want to come back as a wood chip in Ashley Harwood's shop.
Ah, yeah. I’m leaning towards the bald eagle, bengal tiger, class.
Шурупы так закручивать нельзя, отвертка может сорваться и ранить ладонь, на которой лежит ножка!!!
With the follow on from a rattle now being a tapered leg for a sofa, 🤦♂️ (especially one she said was awkward to get up from due to the foot being too low, before she decided to buy it) I wonder if Ashley is running out of ideas!
😂😂😂
What did she do stop making videos....oh well I'll watch someone else
hi sweet girl!!
