I don't know how anybody can say your selling somebody else's tools "NOBODY" has tools as good as yours, I purchased your 5/8 bowl gouge w/ 30" handle and I love it, everything about it, it never loosen's up with the taper design, flawless in my mind, Thank you !!!
Hi Ashley, as a new wood turner I found your comment right on "gentle grip and focus on finesse." Being in a wheelchair at first I was holding on to my tools with a death grip, as I progressed and became more comfortable with each tool, then my grip lighted up and instead of trying to make big cuts I focus on making lighter cuts, and focusing on smoother finishes. I enjoy your channel. Blessing!!
Ashley, you are a wonderful instructor on UA-cam. I hope one day can come out to get a class from you. I love how you are always smiling and enjoying what you do. Your work in awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Ashley, it is so good to see you back in the shop again. Another fine example of your turning skill beyond bowls and spindles even though they can be challenging for us mere mortals. However I was disturbed to see you thicknessing you material in a dangerous fashion on the table saw. You have a quality bandsaw which is far better suited for the task, so please consider using it in the future for your safety and my peace of mind. All the best and stay safe in these trying times
I've always admired wood turning. I see it as 1 part technical skill and 1 part artisan. This wooden "chandelier" is stunning. When it would have been so easy to churn out 100 of these from a mold, IMHO, someone chose a better path.
Ashley you are a very talented Artist not just a profesional woodturner ! I admire you ! And thank you for beeing an source of inspiration, not just in woodturning ! Thanks
I bought my lathe back in March 2019 and found your videos very early on. I watched them with absolute awe. Have turned a few of your items including the sea urchin... That monster table stand. was something else......18 months on and quite a few lessons and woodturning projects under my belt I STILL watch your videos with awe, Way to go...
Hi Ashley, you always amaze me with your turning skills every time I watch a video. You are so professional and confident at what you do and it shows. Keep well, Keep safe and yes please keep turning.
Great job. I watch a lot of wood turning videos. I really like the ones where the turner talks. To me it’s very educational. Hope to see more of your videos.
I've never tried turning, but I love watching your videos as well as Andy Phillips and Frank Howarth! I've been learning relief carving a little bit on my own. I've only done some basic pieces so far but so far I'm pretty happy with it!
As a turner, It has been a pleasure to watch you grow in skill as a turner, you have grown so much. Need to take a day field trip to Charleston, got the hungry for seafood.
Wow! to be honest, I was actually scanning UA-cam looking for resin casting and finishing videos. I somehow stumbled across this video and couldn't stop watching. That was an amazing project and level of skill completing it!
I can't wait until I can take a class from you! You are one of the finest examples of an educator, I have TWW guild bowl class and love your style of teaching and I am so proud to be a Patreon supporter. Please continue to make videos and teach!
Beautiful piece. It is so nice to see you get back to videos related to wood turning again. Your projects always show so much detail and finesse. Thank you
I get laughed at for using the roughing gouge as a general wood removal and shaping tool. I can do some pretty delicate work with it. I like to show students that it isn't just for hogging away wood. Glad to see your use of this excellent tool.
You are awesome, I used to get my butt chewed for using a soft turning technique by my grandfather, and after 6 or 7 years of that he finally adopted that style himself and I said hey what are you doing, he said well it worked for you and so I thought I'd see if it would work for me . My most cherished moments were with my grandfather in the shop each of us turning.
Concentration is paramount. I’d be losing fingers like crazy if I had to learn from you! Lol Love your work. Watched you work before and just now subscribed. Thanks for the inspiration!
G'day Ashley, I watch you in amazment, your touch on the work piece is so delicate but the wood just flies off. I appreciate your close up shots to see the line that you hold the tool so as not to get any catches. Please keep your videos coming as they are really appreciated and thank you for sharing them, stay safe, Best Regards from down under.
Enjoyed the video. Interesting piece you just turned. It would be interesting to see what the customer does to finish it into a chandelier. Thanks for the video and you take care and God bless.
Wow, it's amazing how much it looks like a giant chess piece!!! Just wish we could have seen the rest of this beautiful item made and assembled! 💯% 👍🇬🇧
@AshleyHarwoodturning where are your long tool arms purchased from? Or are they custom made - the hollowing tool and extra long roughing gauge are awesome tools. Beautiful work, what a sense of achievement you must get knowing these works of art will hang in peoples homes
Hello Ashley. Very awesome tuning , hope to see more of your work and see this piece Finish. How is the Shed Filming doing? Your a True Artist. Greg of Ohio
I would ditto what many have said here - the piece looks amazing but I wasn't quite getting the chandelier portion - any way we could see it in its final version, hanging? Thanks for your work, always a pleasure to watch.
Hi dear Ashley, Could I ask you to do favor & prepare online classes & tutorials for foreign students who don't have the chance to come to USA?? Thanks a million
Awesome work. You mentioned about the technique you use as being more finesse based with the tools, may I ask where one could go to lern to turn like that?
Slickdeals sent me to check out the safety mask! Lol
